Boardwalk Bride's PJ Morocco/Canada/Attic/SCP updates 01/09!!

Our reception was at ADH on The Boardwalk and we had balloon bouquets made up of red Mickey shapped balloons and silver mylar star balloons. I had seen this on someones PJ years ago and loved the idea.

We had 6 bouquets - one on either side of the staircases going down to the dance floor (there are two staircases - one small and one grand staircase) and then one on either side of the stage. Our colors were red and white.

Here is what they looked like.

I like the balloon idea! I think it will look really cute and totally work with your theme. I like the blue and red sash with pink petals, I think all 3 colors would be too much on the chairs.

Ok I love the color fabric you picked! I think that red shoes and/or flowers would look great with that!!

I also like the idea of doing blue and red sashes (no covers) but not sure about the pink aisle petals…I wonder how it would look with the red sashes. What about pinks sashes and red and blue petals?

Yah, I think all 3 colours is too much for the sashes. I don't think that the pink sashes will work, since DF has to "ok" everything I do (he is really involved in the planning) and he wants it to reflect him as well (aka not pink).

i dont think balloons are tacky for weddings at all, and they would completely go with your theme.
so i did some digging and came up with these....

I really like the 2nd photo (but maybe not so high) but have them gathered like the 1st picture but in these balloons in the last picture. that way you can have the blue and red sashes on the chairs but with the pink balloons and pink petals down the aisle.

WOW! Great research! Thanks I think if I have balloons, I would not need aisle petals anyway. I really like the last pic you posted....they don't scream birthday party! And they would make some cute pictures! They really look more romantic! I am def saving that one to show Rosie!

I like the idea of balloons. I would just make sure if you add them it is done subtly. Too many and it can look tacky.

For sure, I am hoping that disney (Rosie) will be able to make a good judgment on it. I don't think they will want any of their weddings to look tacky!

Good to know someone else did it!! I have seen you post pictures before, and always wondered if you have a pj/tr??? If you can find your pics, that would be great!

I think so too. I think I will ask if I can have the blue and red sash in the material that lurkyloo had (in the picture I previously posted). I don't think I really want the aisle petals, but I could scatter petals on one of the tables, or just make most of the balloons pink to add it in!


Thanks ladies for all the help!! School starts this week, and I just found out one of the classes I am a teaching assistant for has 200 students (and I am the only TA!!!). Plus, it is a first year class, and first years always ask so many questions! So I think I am going to start being really busy soon, so I am trying to get all my ideas together to give to Rosie as soon as she can have an appointment with me! I will probably be back with some flowers by the end of the week, although I think I know what I want!

Again REALLY love the sashes instead of chair covers idea!

You could do so many different things as far as what colors go where... you could do all blue sashes with red balloons and pink rose petals, or blue sashes with pink balloons and red rose petals... all would look awesome and really incorporate your colors and theme! I dont think balloons would be tacky at all!

Being honest - I've always subscribed to the theory that balloons are for birthdays, not weddings. Having said that, balloons really suit your theme, and I think they'd look just right!

I think you should just alternate the 2 colours on the chairs. and have pink petals, I might be imagining it wrong, but they way I see it, is if you have pink on the ground, and on 1/3 of the chairs, the pink might start to be the primary colour...

I have been having the hardest time visualizing what this would all look like together, so (and please don't judge me too much) I came up with some designs so that I can get a better idea!! I really wanted to have this all picked out by the end of the day, so I have been stressing so much about it! Anyway, here they are

#1) Red and aqua sashes, with no petals, and pink balloons

2) Aqua chair covers, red petals, and either pink or multicoloured balloons

3) Same as above, but with red and pink petals

4) Pink and aqua sashes with red aisle petals and pink or multi balloons

I realize these pictures aren't exact replicas, but it is the best I could do and I think it gives me more of a feel of what it looks like.

The only thing I would probably discuss with Rosie was to make sure they don't pop during the ceremony.

My one concern with balloons is that they will block the view of some guests or the photographers. But I think it definitely goes with your theme! You could even throw in a few Mickey head balloons as hidden mickeys.

Oh, I know what you mean! I thought it would look good at first, but after putting it all together, I realized 2 sash colours is too much. For the balloons, I think I just wanted them at the entrance, like this:

So if I just did that, it really wouldn't be too much, and I think that would be out of the photographers way (and wouldn't block guest views). And than we could probably put some up around the deck at the Attic...although I am having trouble picturing it right now....maybe I will try more photo shopping

My Mom has been researching favors for me ( she is really getting into it, btw) and she came across something I thought you might be interested in. They do personalized mini swirl lollipops for bridal showers. You could just change the wording at it would be perfect to go with your theme.

I really like the second pic, with the 4 balloons on the cake table. I showed it to DF and he wants it too! And than we can just have one massive bouquet for pictures, which we can have off to the side somewhere!

I have picked out a bunch of flowers too, since the ones I orginally wanted are going to be too $$$. I'm at school now, so I will post them when I get home!
