Boardwalk best standard studio location?

I am amazed, my wait list for a standard studio for July 12th +5 just came through. SO that leaves me with a question for the veterans.
In order to get a room closer to the lobby, what should I ask for. I like being near the elevator as well, old knees you know.

You request a room near the elevator/lobby as both are near each other.

For a standard studio that is easy walk to elevator, and also has the best standard view that includes partial boardwalk view, do not request close to elevator but instead make your lead request for a room overlooking the Village Green and also request higher floor.

If you are near elevator/lobby then you are also overlooking the front portico and it is very noisy. We were just in a 1BR there in Oct. Can hear the beeping of trucks from the wee crack of dawn until late. Lots of cars pull up and open/shut doors and trunks. The stroller and scooter drop off was right outside our window. LAndscapers early in the morning.

that indeed is a standard view. The best views are higher and furthest from the elevators. Though after 15 years of hardly ever getting a request, I’ve stopped asking.

I assumed they are Pool\Garden (the rooms that face Village Green is what I was questioning), as I've been placed in them (when it was what I reserved and requested). I was informed previously they are considered Pool\Garden. In fact maps referenced on the DIS has said they were Pool\Garden. Standard from my understanding are all rooms that face the parking lot.

I agree, those are pool/garden for points reservations (standard for cash reservations). They are all studios.

Correct considering this in the DVC Resort sub-forum and the OP stated that their "waitlist" came through then, I assume, they are booking under DVC points. So the PPs suggesting the OP with a "standard view" room request Village Green would be incorrect information, as it could never be met. I agree cash has one view "Standard" and essentially any room is fair game, based on what I was just told by the GM this past November; though, I was told Cash rooms are almost always Pool\Garden. There was an issue in they thought I was a cash stay (booked Pool Garden) so they assigned me a Standard View Room (with moderate view of the retention pond, but mostly the Skylinerand parking lot). They moved me to a Village Green View room and bumped a Cash Reservation from there because they claim that was the reservation they crossed me with.

They are P/G. The ones facing village green. I think the confusion may come from the TP room finder has like 2 of those rooms labeled as P/G. But I think it't an error. I have combed through a lot of the DVC rooms on that TP room finder and they have several mislabeled. I should make note and contact them. But just about every DVC resort has a few mislabeled on there.

Thanks all for the help. I just requested near elevator/lobby and high floor. Noise in the morning does not bother me, at my age I am up at 4 am anyway.

BWV is notorious for not meeting requests but, overall if you are not happy anywhere with location, most staff work hard to accommodate. Sometimes I do wonder if they even look at the request and traveling group. We were stuck in a 3rd floor, no elevator building with a baby and stroller in tow once.

Closer to lobby are the worst rooms in my opinion. I like opposite tennis courts, far from lobby which will get you this. From this room there are stairs to the back corner door (closest area to HWS), stairs that come out opposite bus stop, and stairs that come out near the pool and gym.

The nicest standard views are the furthest from the elevators IMO.

Agreed. We once had one down at end of hall by stairwell that led out and close to HS. Was nice and quiet and could see fireworks from balcony. I also like 1st floor as there are several doors to go outside that you can use and no messing with waiting for elevator plus laundry and gym is right there. But is noisier location.

Yea, my last stay there was near that stairwell. It had a nice view but we had to decide every time we left or returned, stairs or a moderately long walk. The view doesn't matter much, we don't stay in the room much. The noise is not a problem either, we are always up early and sleep with the tv on.

That's another reason why we like it- walking is good for you. I like to average 25,000 steps a day over a 10 day WDW stay and this helps- we spend way too much time behined the desk here.

Agreed. I stand and walk most of my days at work. As I get older it gets a little more difficult, arthritis you know. I tell my wife that the Irish whisky is for the pain.
