Hi, we rent points, so I'm assuming since Boardwalk is not my friend's home resort, we would need to book at 7 months out. Out of curiosity, thoughts on being able to get a 2 bedroom (any view) if we book in Dec for a July stay? I know the standard rooms go really quickly, the other views are fine-
Thanks for your thoughts!

Boardwalk view would be a tough one because there aren't a lot of them and they are preferred over the pool/garden view. I think your friend should be okay for p/g in July with a possible exception of 4th of July weekend (it falls on a Monday in 2022). Since all BWV 2BRs are lockoffs (1BR + studio), the number of available 2BRs is a function of the number of studios booked.

July 7 to July 31 has traditionally been the second lowest DVC demand time of the year. Pre-pandemic, pool/garden view studios and 2BRs were virtually always open at 7-months out at that time, standard usually not, boardwalk view actually had chances during that time although more like 50-50.

Nevertheless, 2022 is turning into a very different year than traditionally for rooms at 7-months out. Many rooms that were usually open at 7-months out pre-pandemic have not been so far through 2022, and that includes boardwalk pool/garden studios and 2BRs, which thus far in 2022 have filled a number of times before 7-months out when they almost never did for the same time pre-pandemic. The reasons are likely that there are huge numbers trying to take a trip who have not been able to do so for some time, and they have a lot of excess banked points that need to be used.

Thanks, I guess we'll just have to wait and see this winter (7 months out). Have to think of a second choice if it isn't available. It's been such a crazy time, we just got back mid August, of course we were there while it was still very crowded, then I read the crowds are at record lows! Who knows what the future will bring, lol!
We stayed at Bay Lake and Saratoga this year. Both resorts were great, Bay lake we love for MK, and the 2 bedroom at Saratoga was beautiful. I know there is a lot of negative out there due to all the changes, but we came back still saying we love Disney.
