Boards are super fast now!

For some reason I was having that same issue this morning and I thought they were just down for maintenance or something and that was why they weren't loading...? But now they are great and FLAMMING FAST!

Thank you Alex :cool1:

hate to be a spoil sport - but since the upgrade

I hate to be a spoilsport too, but before the podcast, I couldn't have even said with certainty that the boards were moved to new servers. There was never any communication on the boards themselves, only in the podcast.

hate to be a spoil sport - but since the upgrade, i've had nothing but trouble.
The boards worked fine for me before the upgrade, now it's a mess.
i can't figure out what's the problem
I've tried using chrome and explorer - both of them don't work well at all.
The page is loading semi-corrupt or not loading at all.

can't figure it out. Incompatibility between the new server and my ISP? that would be weird.

You have to clear all your cookies, cache etc. Nobody wants to do it because of needing to re-login to all of their web sites but it really is the only way. We have seen this issue several times now and it's the only answer we have ever found

I had a similar issue when the boards were first switched to the new servers over the weekend - could not get them to load at all when using a machine connected to my home's internet. iPad and IPhones all worked fine when not connected to the wifi.

I called my local service provider (Brighthouse) and explained the issue.

The tech's exact words were 'Oh, the software on your router is VERY old'. He did a remote update, rebooted my router and within minutes I was working fine. This seems counter-intuitive to how server addresses and domain names work but what ever he did fixed the issue.

My advise would be to call your local provider and explain exactly what you're experiencing. My guess is they will walk you through some things (clear DNS, ping the site, etc) and that will help them diagnose the issue.

ok - thanks. I'll try Alex's suggestion first and hope that works.
though i'm afraid John might be right - my router is a few years old

That's an answer for disneyholic family, but can also be taken as geek speak for "Aw shucks, gang. You're welcome" :p.

Thank you so much Alex. Because of my husband, I understand exactly what you have to do to make this work better.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thanks Alex, and everyone who works on the boards, for keeping them up and going for our Dising pleasure!

:goodvibes

Thank you Alex............I cleared my cache and repowered my modem and we are good to go.........great job.

Actually it was posted on the "Announcements" that are on the top of the home page and that appear on most of the other boards

ok so this is weird. i never cleared my cookies (got caught up with actual work work  )

anyway, the boards are working perfectly for me now. zippy fast.

How weird is that??? so i haven't a clue what the issue was before, but it's gone!

so thank you Alex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Clearing only the disboards.com/www.disboards.com cookies should suffice. At work, it wouldn't keep me logged in until I did that. At home it just worked.
