Board Games for Adults

Can anyone suggest some fun board games for adults? We will be having a game/movie night at our church for New Years Eve and we were asked to bring some of our fav. board games. The children games have been taken care of we just need a few ideas for some FUN, easy...(not to complicated), games for adults. So far we have Battle of the Sexes, Taboo, Yahtzee, and LCR. The ages range from teens up to 80s. Thanks.

Apples to Apples is a newer one that is lots of fun and very easy - produces lots of laughs.

Balderdash is fun.

Scattergories was always a fun one.

I've got to second Apples to Apples! I played that with teenagers, but it's a great game for adults, too!

What about Scrabble, Pictionary, Balderdash, chess, checkers, trivial pursuit?

With a large group, we've done Pictionary in teams. We got a giant pad of post-it paper, almost poster size, and put it up on the wall. The whole team could see the drawing.

We used to do a game night once a month with friends and these were ALWAYS hits. We also did the Pictionary/WinLoseorDraw thing on a dry erase board on a tripod where everyone could see it.

Uno is fun for any age and you can play a hand in just a few minutes so no one is commited for a long period of time.

I just have to put in my vote for Apples to Apples also - we love that game and it always produces a lot of laughs. It's best to play with people that you know well, though.

Another fun one is Mad Gab - we get a lot of laughs from that one too.

Well, I guess I'm out of the loop as far as new board games, but I'm a big fan of the classics: Monopoly is always on the top of my list. I also LOVE Boggle. If you ever have a niche group, I'm a big fan of Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit.

Sequence. We do game night once a month with my sisters and their husbands and it is almost always one we play. You can do individuals or teams. We usually play girls vs the guys.
