I hope someone can help me with this. Last week we were in DW and midway through the week, my pictures began to look blurry when I was looking through the viewfinder to snap the photo. I thought my settings were off. Then I noticed that they were fine on the screen. How could something have gotten inside the viewfinder thing to blur the image? I have tried to clean it on the outside and still no change. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Near the view finder is a little turn roller, it will adjust what you see though the view finder just like a pair of glasses, find something crisp with good light, focus the camera, and then roll it back and forth till it is clear. It happens to me everyonce in a while as well and is very frustrating when shooting.

My diopter gets spun every now and then also :headache:. I wear glasses and so need DH to look through and focus for me. Hope Master Mason was able to help you.

That bit of information is very important to anybody who has not had that happen to them. I've ran across this small problem in the past. But because it was my only time having that happen, I freaked out thinking something was totally wrong with my camera. I was able to use the LCD screen, but it just wasn't the same. Luckily, it was a very easy adjustment to be made.

I will try that this afternoon and see if it fixes the problem. Thanks so much. I have never had that happen before, I just kept thinking that something got into it. I will keep you all posted. Thanks.

I think this must happen to everyone-I never had problems with my XT but when I upgraded to my t1i I have had more not so great shots-a friend of my was checking out the upgrade because he is on the fence and happily pointed out my problem.

I used my D40 for about 4 months with this issue thinking the viewfinder was just crappy. Didn't affect the pictures, but I certainly couldn't manually focus!

I've been shooting for longer than some of you have been alive and I still occasionally have a problem with this. It always takes me a few seconds of worry that I've screwed up my AF or my eyes have gone loopy or something and then I remember the little dial. Too bad they don't make it an electronic adjustment instead of a dial.

Pictures were fine, I just shot everything on auto.

I did think I screwed mine up. I didn't know what was happening.
