we are really trying to choose between there and the LIki tiki or Fairfield Orlando at star island......We were really thinking the Westgate Lakes, but I think I have read too many neg. reviews. We also could choose Star Island resort......too many tough choices.....

I stayed there some time ago (Sept, 2001) and found it to be pretty run down; employees were very unresponsive about fixing anything, and never did get some things fixed after a full week of calling. Suites were filthy at check-in.
Blue Tree has since changed to a Westgate resort; but the owners were keeping the same maintenance company.
I satyed at a Westgate resort (Westgate Town Center) in Sept 2002, and loved it.

We also have a chance to stay at Westgate Lakes, the town Center, or the villas....

I was leaning toward the lakes, but read through on a search here and saw some negative replies about westgate. We have available a 3 bedroom at the lakes. Are you familiar with this place at all?

thanks for your help!!

I had read how horrible the Blue Tree Resort was and was almost talked out of staying there this past October. I am glad that we didn't switch. We had a two bedroom condo, which was extremely clean and we were not bugged one time about a time share presentation. Everything in the condo was in excellent condition from the appliances, dishes, washer/dryer, tv etc. We were very happy there and would not hesitate for one second to stay there again. I say go and try for yourself.

Never stayed at Blue Tree--saw it form the outside and it looks okay, but not like anything special or outstanding.

Regarding WEstgate--I think the review that have been negative were mainly about the villas and not the Towers. That said, most of the negatives came from two different people who just posted a lot. We stayed at Westgate Villas in dec and while i did not consider it a LUXURY resort by any strech of the imagination, it was not anywhere near a dump either. the staff was very helpful and friendly, some of the amenities are very nice--like free paddle boats, a little "train" that transprts you throughout the resort, very nice high chairs at no extra charge and some others. The reasons I wouldn't rate it as a luxury resort--not comparable to Vistana Villages for instance or a Marriot or Hilton resort--were; tile not carpet in the living area made for a very noisy villa, bathrooms are comparable to a Motel 6--not bad, just not cool either--bland decor, lots of pools, but again just pools, nothing special, and finally, our villa did smell strange at times.

I can highly recommend Mariott Cypress Harbour. I know that's not on your short list but it's well worth an honorable mention.

good luck!
