Blue Sky Rumor: Ride coming to UK Pavilion?

One thing that's important to remember is that the Frozen ride being "HIGHLY criticized" is meaningless if it's constantly packed with paying guests.

Personally, I wish Maelstrom was still there, but FEA has been a massive success by virtually any measure. That's just a fact.

Epcot does not have enough attractions for the crowd...which is 100% ackowledged by Disney (hidden in plain sight)

A long line is a false equivalency.

How did that happen? Well...shuttering of an entire pavilion with no reason might be a start. Shuttering of innoventions...
...perhaps the destruction of imagination might not have been wise either...

It's not meaningless. Its also fact that frozen has nothing to do with the actual country of Norway.

Not too be too antagonistic, but I remember Maelstrom mostly being a 10-20 min wait or less and FEA is constantly 60+. I think that renders complaints from Epcot 'originalists,' if you will, fairly meaningless.

Don't get me wrong, I preferred Maelstrom. But I'd bet that FEA has probably generated more revenue since it's opened than Maelstrom did in it's last decade. That's ultimately the only thing that matters to Disney. They'll tolerate alot of complaining from hardcore fans, but they won't tolerate declining revenue.

How is it I can appreciate the detail of Epcot...all of it...and think that mine train is a mildly amusing kiddie coaster that should be a walk on by now?

I must be nuts:banana:

Come on now, barnstormer isn't even a walk on most of the time and this more kiddie than mine train.

Truthfully, is there ANY ride or attraction in ALL of Walt Disney World Resort property that is a walk on during regular daytime hours? I'm not talking rope drop or EMH or special events. Just day to day middle of the day operations.

No...I wish I count come up with a reason why :scratchin

It's kind of a "duh" that Frozen is going to have a longer wait than the older and outdated Maelstrom. Kids are going to flock to it because they like the movie.

Now, this should not turn into a Maelstrom/frozen doesn't belong in WS debate. However, Frozen deserved an E-ticket ride in fantasyland or DHS not a renovated boat ride in world showcase. Maelstrom also had plans for an update which many fail to realize, so it could've been much better if updated. Frozen is one of if not the biggest animated movies of all time. It deserved more than a $100 million renovation.

Different symptom, same disease.

Not enough investment as the crowds have ballooned.
New fantasyland added capacity to MK which is something it needed. It still needs more capacity but Disney is focusing on other areas that need even more work like AK and DHS. Is Mine Train a major E-ticket that some wanted and hoped for? No, I don't think it was ever intended to be as such. Sure Disney marketed it as something big and new but of course they would do that they are Disney.

No not usually. Maybe Carousel of Progress but that's about it.

Thought of some more because I guess they are basically attractions.....One Man's Dream and Star Wars Launch Bay skipping the video, Country Bears (most times) and what about Pixar Shorts?

I was thinking about mainly rides. One Man's dream has a meet and greet for Moana currently, and the movie preview for BATB. Launch bay is meet and greets (which both usually have 15-20 minute waits, and then just props, Country Bears has set show times so you are waiting for the show time not an actually wait time in line. Pixar shorts is similar to One Man's dream or MuppetVision.

I have never bought the argument that fewer high quality attractions leads to longer wait times for the few they have. When there are fewer high quality attractions, attendance at the park is lower and vice versa.

Look at MK which gets around 20M visitors a year to Epcot's 12M. There are plenty of high quality attractions and 7DMT, Peter Pan, and Space Mountain frequently have 60+ minute waits and 7DMT frequently has 100+ min wait.

I bet once Pandora opens, EE, KS, KRR, and Dinosaur will all be more crowded than they are now.

There was a time when Epcot and MK were pretty close in terms of attendance.

While 7DMT gets 100+ min waits is it worth that? That I don't think so. Of course that gets subjective but really mine train should be in that same category as the three Disney mountains.

I could not agree more. It's too short. I think both Big Thunder and Splash Mountain are better than 7D. Especially when you factor in the wait.

I do think 7D is better than Space Mountain though.
