Blue Skies, Sunshine, and Unseasonably HOT Pixie Dust! Update 3/6 Final Thoughts!

Before we went to bed the night before, I had warned everyone that I was leaving early and if they wanted to go, get up and be ready! This time they knew I meant business because they were all up and ready to head out the door by about 8:30. My sister didn’t join us this morning because she had homework to catch up on and wanted some quiet pool time. So Bella, the boys, my parents, and I were off!

We made it to Epcot at about 9:15 which was fine. We missed rope drop, but it was still early enough. We cashed in another day’s worth of GAD vouchers and headed into the park.

And the first “person” we ran into was this guy!

We started to walk in, and Spaceship Earth had no line, so we walked right on.

Now, I swear I didn’t do this on purpose, I was just trying to get Bella to look at the camera (and she was too short so you can‘t even see her), but I think this may be the best Spaceship Earth photo ever:

I cracked up when I saw it!

After our journey through space and time, we headed into Innoventions. The boys and I really wanted to try out The Sum of All Thrills. There was not a wait for it, so we went ahead and did it while my parents took Bella around. We all three made our own rides. It was pretty fun, I wouldn’t want to stand in line for it for a very long time, but neat to do once.

I really wanted to get to Soarin,’ but we saw Club Cool along the way.

And had fun trying all the different kinds. I actually tried Beverly, I just had to see for myself how gross it was! And the boys tried it too, but I didn’t get pics of their faces. We all agreed it was pretty disgusting!

Then we saw lines for 3 characters, and I told each of the kids to pick one since the lines were a little long. Noah declined, and Jaeden picked Jiminy Cricket.

Bella picked…Marie! I had printed off pages and bound them together, and so Marie found her page with her name and her picture on it. It was so cute! She hugged it, snuggled it with her nose, pretended to lick it, and just was ecstatic to see herself!

By then the lines had died down so Bella jumped in to meet the Queen of Hearts!

After that, we headed towards the Land but decided to do Nemo first, since we knew we could FP Soarin.

We didn’t wait at all for Nemo, either. The walk through the queue took a few minutes, but once we got to the front we got right on. Afterwards Jaeden and Bella took the obligatory Bruce photo.

I really wanted to see Turtle Talk, but it wasn’t starting for 10 more minutes and I really wanted to get to Soarin before I had to be in Mexico at noon for our DIS-meet. So we reluctantly left and headed to the Land. We used our GAD Fps to ride right then. They were going to assign us the back row of the middle, but I asked for front row so we were sent all the way to the right and didn’t even have to wait for the front!

None of us had ever ridden, and we all LOVED it. What a great ride. It is just SO well done. I wish we had had time to ride it again!

I got off of Soarin at 11:56 am, so I knew I had to hurry. My parents and the kids went to eat at Sunshine Seasons and ride Livin with the Land and I hurried to Mexico for the DIS-meet!!!

I made a mad dash to Mexico to the tequila cave to meet up with some fellow DIS-ers. It was a few minutes after noon when I arrived. I was not as adventurous as some, I decided to order a blue margarita that came with a flashing blue ice cube. Bella still really likes that ice cube! I hadn’t eaten, so I ordered some chicken tostada nachos. They were yummy and you can see them in the pic! This pic is the one I sent to all of my friends at work with a text that said, “This is what I’m doing now!”

And I didn’t get any photos of the group, so I stole this one from PrincessinOz’s TR (thanks and sorry).

It was so nice to meet everyone! And a great way to cool off and relax for an hour or so. That margarita was pretty strong, I felt a little light headed when I left!

While I was at the meet, Bella and JJ met Chip and Dale.

And splashed around a little.

I called them when I left and we met up at Test Track. We used our GAD FPs and waited about ten minutes. Bella wasn’t at all nervous, but she got a little scared when we started going fast. Apparently she does not like fast motion. That was the problem with the Barnstormer, too. I hope she grows out of it!

Then the boys and I decided to do Mission: Space. I decided I was going to go all out and ride the more intense side (I can never remember which is which). The boys were pretty nervous, but they got in line with me. I don’t think we even needed FPs here, if I remember correctly the line was only about 10 minutes.

As we were boarding our space shuttle, Jaeden’s nerves got the better of him. He decided he didn’t want to ride, and when the CM came around to check our safety harnesses and I told him Jaeden wanted to get off. He said, “Are you sure? It’s fun, it’s not scary.” So Jaeden did end up riding. We all really liked it and none of us got sick. I think the anticipation and all those warnings are more intense than the actual ride! I am not prone to motion sickness, though, so maybe that’s just me.

Noah had left his chapstick and sunglasses in the little compartment at his feet, so after we got off, we had to go right back in. They ended up checking all the compartments and never found them, so we sat there for twenty minutes for nothing. After that, we had to make another quick dash to the international gateway, so we could ride the boat to DHS for our 4:00 Mama Melrose ADR!

Once again, we ended up making it right on time. It seemed to be a theme of the trip, rushing to get somewhere and making it in the nick of time. We had passed Jessie on our way to MM’s, so while we were waiting to be seated I took Bella out to meet her.

I didn’t realize my camera had accidentally gotten switched to manual focus instead of automatic, so the pictures are a little blurry.

Jessie was really funny. She found the picture of herself and acted really happy, then she paged through and found Buzz. When she got to his picture, she hugged the book to her chest. We hadn’t met him yet, and I told her so. She pointed in the direction of TSM and nodded. I told her that we would have to go check that out. It was a fun interaction!

We got back to MM and still had a few minutes before we were seated. Bella was acting goofy (whats new!), so I took this pic with her:

The food here was pretty good. I had the chicken parmesan, which was huge. I ended up eating most of it, too, since all I had had that day was two of those chicken nachos!

After we were done eating, we headed back to TSM. Noah and I had a challenge to live up to!

They had let us use ANOTHER GAD FP at DHS, so before we knew it, we were here:

Bella and Jaeden rode together but they were facing away so I didn’t get a picture of them.

And who won the match, you ask?? Well, if you see in the first pic, I was red and Noah was blue. So…see for yourselves!

Yes, I was proud of myself for beating the ten year old. Yes, I still give him trouble about it. I bought him TSM for Wii for his birthday last month, but we have yet to rematch on it. I think he wants to get good before he plays me!

We still had some time before we had to line up for Fantasmic! since we had the dinner package. So we headed to ride ToT and RnRC again.

My brother is a huge Kiss fan so I had to pose for this pic to show him:

ToT was excellent, but we were in the way back of RcRC and I got a huge headache. I guess from being jerked around so much.

We headed to Fantasmic, which my pics of did not turn out. We had great seats, though, and the arena was packed.

We were all amazed at the show. It’s just so GOOD.

Noah and I ran for one last drop on ToT, and it was awesome to see the whole park lit up for a second before they dropped us. After that we all did some shopping and headed back to the resort!

It was great to meet other dis-ers in person. We probably wouldn't have chosen MM except for the dinner package, but we did enjoy it.

YES the dinner package was absolutely worth it. There is a separate entrance closer to where Beauty and the Beast is. We didn't even line up, we just walked in about 30 min before it started and got great seats. They are all to the right but in that arena it doesn't really matter. And before they let people in the main entrance it was all the way down the street backed up probably an hour and a half before it started. So we were very glad to have the package!

I’am playing catch up just getting back on track since we have returned The photopass pics are great at MK. Viking pics are cute. No, I have not fallen off the face of the Earth! Though it seems like I have been away from the DIS forever...

A lot has happened in the past two months. I got moved after five years from kindergarten to first grade, so that has been really crazy. I had to unpack all of my stuff and pretty much start over in learning what to teach! I actually really love it, though. First grade is VERY different from K, but mostly good. I have some of the same kids, so that's neat, too.

I did have some job drama over the summer, which I was kind of in a funk about. I won't go into details, but it involved a co-worker who pretty much stabbed me in the back. It's all over now, but it was VERY stressful for a while.

And the guy that I was dating for 2 1/2 years (not Bella's dad)...we have gone our separate ways. Again, I will spare you the details, but it was a bit messy for a while. It's for the best, but I'm a little bummed that there will not be a Christmas trip. I can't afford it on my own, so it's off. I think that's why I have not been on the DIS...because I can't yet figure out when I WILL be able to afford it. I'm hoping for either June for Bella's birthday (she'll be 6 on 6/6) or October for the Food and Wine 5K.

So yes, it has been a rough couple of months, but you gotta take the downs with the ups, right? And things have settled down for the most part. Also, in my weight loss journey...I have lost 20 of the 40 for my goal!

I actually have been catching up on some of your TRs and PTRs but haven't had a chance to post. Hopefully I will before too long! I miss everyone!

So sorry to hear about your breakup and job dramas. But I hope everything has settled down and you're back on an even keel. It's always hard during life's downers....even though you know you should take the good with the bad.

And CONGRATULATIONS on losing 20 lbs! Way to go!
