I've seen some many brides on here wearing blue shoes. I've never heard of that before! It's really pretty though. Is it a regional custom to have your "something blue" as your shoes or do just that many people love blue? It's odd, because I don't think I've seen any other color (besides standard white or silver). Around my area, it's pretty customary for your garter to be your "something blue."

So anyway, what's the story with all the blues shoes?

I've seen several people wear the blue Manolo Blahnik's that Carrie wears to her wedding with Big in the Sex and the City Movie. I think that may have started the trend :confused3

I agree....colored shoes in general seem to be becoming a trend. My first pair were blue but mostly because our colors at the time were blue, but it did work for my something blue. I love how colored shoes look with a white dress and a colorful bouquet.

My shoes are a very deep purple.

Purple is my favorite color and it does not show up in the wedding anywhere. I saw these shoes and fell in love, figured that was how I would get my purple in! ;)

I'm actually all about blue, so blue shoes just fit for me. I never saw Sex & the City but the trend makes sense. For me it just adds a bit of fun to the dress, kind of like a little secret you know until you show them to people :)

I think people just like to add a little color and personality on their day with their shoes since the dress is already white it gives it a little extra something something

I've wanted my something blue to be my shoes since I was 10 years old! I don't remember how I thought of it but I thought I was being so original! I didn't know other women wore blue shoes and I've seen the SATC movie but I never noticed Carrie has blue shoes on! Oh well! I still love the idea of blue shoes on the wedding day!

I wore blue shoes, it was just a me thing :) I love shoes and wanted to wear my favourites ;)

I love blue, so when I saw a bunch of brides doing blue shoes, I loved it. A great way to sneak a pop of color in and stick with the tradition.

I'm dying my shoes hot pink to match my bouquet but if I was just having a white bouquet like I initially was I would have worn blue.

I wore blue flip flops on my wedding day in disney world. I bought them from the advantage bridal website. They weren't cheap; they had blue swarovski crystals on the top. I never wore them again, but they were definitely a conversation starter, and very comfortable!

I've always wanted to wear colored shoes because it reflected my personality and so that I could wear the shoes again later. Mine weren't blue but teal which was also one of my wedding colors. I could have done blue but I liked the teal better with my ivory dress.

I've bought the ivory shoes that I love for the ceremony and reception, but I also have a pair of bright pink heels that I bought as they were a bargain and I'm thinking of wearing them to our photo session after our reception. My bouquet is also pink.
