Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs has opened at the Boardwalk

But it is in the sense that ESPN and the brewpub are gone and the area still has construction. Their new replacements have yet to open, so in the meantime, it is suffering.

We tried the Deli twice. First time was decent, but the second time, the corned beef was VERY greasy, and the pickles were very strong/tart/sour. The dessert there are good, but we have no interest in eating the sandwiches for a long time. They were drippy greasy, to the point the bread was soggy with grease.

We liked the Trattoria fairly well, so the Boardwalk is not all bad, but the replacement dining options are long overdue.

I have found the Boardwalk Deli to be very hit or miss.

I miss Big River only in that it was the last place to get quick bar-type food after ESPN was gone. But I really miss ESPN. That was the perfect place for the Boardwalk - and better food (including fryer food) than Big River - plus good late crowd, sports, etc. Cake Bake certainly doesn't replace that in any way, and it's still the biggest thing missing at Boardwalk now. Flying Fish, Italian restaurant, Cake shop - but no burger/bar food joint. That's why, sad as it is, I'm a little more excited for the corn dog stand vs Cake Bake - it at least gives me another quick, handheld food option again - or bring-back-to-the-room food options coming back from the park. I even liked having the To Go koisk that was there before the Corn Dog stand - that had been closed for so long to make room for the corn dogs which I assumed at the time would be a few months to retheme and reopen...not 4 years!

I like The Fountain - it's where I go now for that type of food - but would be nice to have that sort of option back at Boardwalk again.

I never had a corn dog, and I am not certain my August stay at BWV is going to change that. Even if it is open.

With all the surveys Disney does, did they really find everyone was clamoring for corn dogs?
