Blue Goose Trip

Also, maybe a "coordinated solos meet up" would be great. Many of us would be newbies and may be completely solo, while others may come down with friends from the boards, or friends/family IRL, so the meet up would be a great way to hook up with others who are solo. Then, if those who are with groups are interested in having others join their groups, they can show up too, if not, then they could skip it, and the solos wouldn't feel so left out.
I love the idea of getting everyone's itinerary beforehand. That would be great!
I want everyone to know, I'm totally not being critical, just putting my ideas out there. I so want to go! If I do, it will be a big financial committment for us and I want to have a great time. And, I personally don't like to do anything truly solo, so it would be a leap for me if I don't have my friends join me. I spend most of my time over on the Budget and DL boards, so I don't "bump into" many people. I am going to post over there, though, to encourage people to "join up"!
I would be more than happy to be a trip buddy with you. I'm a newbie, too. As much as the ladies will try to make everyone feel welcomed, I can see how you can feel a bit apprehensive joining a group of ladies who have already vacationed together. I feel that way once in a while . . . I figure I'll get over it and just have a good time. Even though some of the vets have formed close bonds already, there are a few who are more than eager to have some newbies join. And if not, the newbies can form their own close bonds. Don't worry. We'll all make lemonade together.

Hi Zoemakes5,
I think your ideas are excellent. Unfortunately, I'm not clever enough to have thought of them myself but that's exactly the kind of plan I was trying to suggest!!
Ditto. See above.

Beth, I just asked on the Disney Dining Plan page and was told that yes, we can use 2 credits for the International buffet thingy! Whoo hoo! Count me in.

Now that I've confirmed that I'm going, I'd be happy to coordinate any resies, if people want that. I'm pretty reliable and would get it done and give everyone enough notice.
I would love to be part of this. Please let me know when you all are going to book this. I would like to be counted in.

As for doing what I want when I want . . . I don't really feel that way for this trip. I'm game to try new things. I'm not a fan of AC (I know, blasphemy) but am more than willing to give it a try with a new group of people and a new outlook. I'm not looking to do same ol', same ol'.

Hey Ladies!! Do you think there may be room for one more?

I'm seriously thinking of joining IF I can get the weekend off. I just got my football schedule and yea! we have an away game 11/3! Now, I just have to get the Soccer schedules and see what's up for the tournament dates.

I told my daughter that I would really like to go for a long weekend, now I just have to ask my boss if it would be ok with him. What I was thinking if I could fly down Thursday night after work, I could join you on Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday, and come back late Sunday night. That way, I'd only have to get some one to cover the Fitness Center & Gyms on Saturday & Sunday afternoons only while I'd be whooping it up with all of you!!!:woohoo:

I think it sounds like fun. I called today to try and get the dates for it, but they didn't have them yet.
I think you book it the same as the other ADR's so it's 180 days out which puts us on May 5th. So we'll book it on or around that time.

Absolutely!!! We'd love to have you come along!!! :yay:

Even if you can only make it for part of the time, that is better that nothing!! ;)

At this point, I don't think I'm doing the dining plan. I know it's a great deal, but I'm not much of a sit down dinner eater while at DW. When it was free, it was great, but I doubt it will be free in November. I might join you guys for a dinner, but I'm not sure.

Yes, some of us have developed close bomds.
I would love it if we all lived closer so we can see each other more often... and go shopping :rotfl:
Which is why I say this is not just a "meet", it's friends going away on vacation and meeting new people.

I like the way you worded that Joanne :)

As far as ADRs go I'm open to trying some in small manageable groups. I did the DP so I know one place I'm going to is Spoodles , other than that I'll see what other ADRS are made as we get closer to the trip.

Well, I did some # crunching on the DP. If I buy an AP, the upgrade cost to me will be $200. If I have to buy a one day ticket to get the DP, the cost will be $71. If I buy a 6 day hopper for the November trip, it will cost $263. So, for the $8 price difference, it will be worthwhile to get the AP and one day ticket--especially if I want to return to WDW in June 2008.

The DP for the 5 days will cost $190. When I did my dining budget without plan, it also came to $190.

$10 for dinner on 10/30
$30 for meals on 10/31
$50 for meals on 11/1--including Boma
$30 for meals on 11/2
$30 for meals on 11/3
$40 for meal on 11/4--including HOB Gospel Brunch

So, the DP will not cost more. But, if I do the DP, I would give up HOB since it is not on plan. And I don't know if I want to do any other TS  .
Now I just need to decide if it is worth it to give up HOB and try to fit in 4 more TS meals. I don't think I will be around for the GG event you plan on doing at Epcot. And usually I don't like to be tied to a bunch of reservations. I know I would like to try Coral Reef...

Christine, you can use that one day ticket toward your AP; I did that last September.

Thank you for that tip. However, I will be upgrading my 8 day hopper from my July package to the AP. I am not sure if that will work, even if I have my November package paid for by the time I travel in July.

I think the DP is worth it if for no other reason then not having to worry about money when you go to eat.

I am sure there will be some who want to do Coral Reef. And we wanted to do Boma. Everyone last time who went there, raved about Spoodles. I might want to try Kona Cafe, I've heard the desserts are to die for.
It will full up, trust me.
Also you are going for the company and chatting time as well as the food. :thumbsup2

Ahh, Well, the one day is non-expiring, so you can always save it.

I'd be interested in dining at the Coral Reef Christine, Let me know if you make an ADR for there.

Beth,

I had lunch at Kona Cafe last time , it was good , but I'd really like to try dinner this time... the shrimp and scallop meal sounds wonderful :cool1:

I have had lunch/dinner at Kona lots of times, and they do have great desserts. Actually, most of the restaurants at WDW have great desserts. I like Kona's food. I ate at Coral Reef one time, it was good, not spectacular. I would only go, if I had the dining plan. I don't feel it was worth the money otherwise. I do love that they have the giant fish tank

I think I am going for that more then the meal itself! :fish: Though with all those fish swimming around, I may have to order a cheeseburger!

I might have to check out the menu for Coral Reef since everyone seems to be showing interest in it.
And a few have expressed interest in Kona.

I'd like to try places I've never been and wouldn't go to with the kids. Someone mentioned Prime Time, but I've been there 3 times, and I can take my kids there, so I'd wouldn't do that one.

See, this is why we have several little ADR's rather than trying to agree on a few huge ones.

We have too many different tastes!! LOL There is no way to get everyone to agree especially when there are so many places to choose from.

But if you throw something out there, I guarantee you won't be alone. Someone will join you.

I have been wanting to try Coral Reef !! :yay: I'm actually kind of glad i'm getting the dining plan, it makes me relax more with a sit down meal instead of commando touring & fast food like I usually do

I want to go to Coral Reef :yay: it looks pretty! Is that 1 TS credit?

I also want to go to Boma.

You know they pick one person each day that the big fishes like to eat.:rolleyes1

Well, from the looks of it so far, it appears that Boma and Coral Reef will definitely be on the schedule for many!!

Coral Reef used to be my favorite. The last two times I went, I was extremely disappointed . . . but I would be willing to try it again. I'm not going for the food - new people make "old" restaurants feel like new experiences! I would like to "sign up" for as many "group" meals as possible. Please let me know when everyone makes ADR's! I'm in.
