Blue card question and resale

Hello all. I originally had four contracts with grandfathered blue card privileges and am now down to three, having replaced one with a restricted resale contract for a different resort. I'm now considering selling my grandfathered BLT contract and replacing it with two bigger new resale contracts in a different use year. I plan to retain my two grandfathered VGC contracts forever--not letting those go.

Is there any reason to be concerned about selling another grandfathered contract? It would seem that one needs just one grandfathered or direct contract to get the various perks--i.e., blue card--and there is no reason to hold on to more than one but am I missing something?

One other thing in case it matters--I own at three resorts, and each resort has a different use year so I have three different member numbers. I don't think this matters but tell me if I'm wrong!

One of your memberships has to have whatever the minimum was for your qualified points.

If the VGC contracts you bought were grandfathered then that UY will be have a blue card,

If you sell from different UYs, then those will lose it, but as long as one of your memberships stays qualified you are set,

I sold my BWV qualified contract last year so my Dec UY went from blue to white, But, because my Aug UY has qualified points, I have my blue card for that one.

Thanks so much. I realize there is one additional consideration, which is that with the existing grandfathered contract I can book Riveria and presumably any other new DVC resort if DVC hews to its tradition of not imposing new restrictions on existing resale contracts. This doesn't matter much to me because I'm not really a Riveria fan, and I can always use my substantial cache of grandfathered VGC points to book resorts other than the Legacy 14. The only thing I can think of that might make me regret this is if DVC built something really incredible like a Star Wars themed property directly connected to Galaxy's Edge. That doesn't seem too likely!

I thought I would note this for the benefit of others looking up this thread. And this is not directly related to my question about the blue card so the answers above are still correct...

I am a big RIV fan and bought a restricted contract last year thinking it would be no big deal because I had other non restricted points. Well, it was. I would see something show up and realize I couldn't book it because I had the BLT restricted points that were available and not the SSR ones that could. Since RIV is my top resort, it simply didn't work for me and knowing that future resorts could come along that I would want to book, I decided to sell it.

Now, I did turn around and put an offer in on a RIV resale but that is okay because we know we want to stay there a few nights every trip. Plus, I plan on hopefully adding new direct VGF points in 2022 or 2023. Hoping my resale RIV actually happens...seller has not sent back documents and its a month Wednesday. We gave a little more time, but if it doesn't happen, then we will add on those direct.

Good luck!!!
