I was wondering if it is possible to have a group of five sit next to the water at the Blue Bayou. Has anyone done it before?

Wondering about this myself now that the in laws are joining us.

Yep, I've seen it before--though the wait may be a little longer, because you will need to wait for 2 tables (each fit 3-4 people facing the water). Show up about 30 minutes before your reservation. They will tell you it will be a 40 minute wait. (It's rarely ever really that long.)

We went with 5 with reservations and asked for a table by the water. We got one almost instantly. So you never know!

I see parties of 5 - 6 near the water all the time.

We had an 11:30 reservation for lunch last week and asked for waterside when we checked in. The CM told us that all 11:30 reservations automatically get waterside, they seat them first. We were a party of 4 and had a party of 6 or 7 right next to us.
If you have a party of 5 / 6, make a first seating reservation for lunch (11:30) or a first seating reservation for dinner and ask for waterside. Dinner you might have to wait; lunch, you'll get it automatically.

I hope what Tyggress said is true. I've got an 11:30 booked for a lunch in November. I better get that waterfront table. Otherwise, that place just aint worth it to me.

Not sure. There are more 11:30 reservations than there are waterfront table. Check in earlier the better.

There are about 10 waterside tables (less if they put tables together for bigger parties)...my guess it they book 10 11:30 reservations....and after that they book 11:40, etc. That would allow 11:30 reservations to all get waterside automatically. I'm guessing that's how they handle it. I'm just relaying what the CM told me when I checked in for our lunch a week ago (on a Saturday). You could certainly check in about 10 minutes before your reservation (which you should do regardless) and request waterside...I'm sure you'll get it.

Both time I have eaten there for lunch this year, when I checked in for my 11:30 reservation and asked for a waterside table, they also told me that I would get one because I had an 11:30 reservation. That said, when I go next month, I will still ask for that waterside table. I'm not leaving it up to chance.

Yeah I think ours was at 11.30, right at the start of the days service too. You will probably be more likely to get a waterside table then.

My last reservation for three was at 5:10pm I believe. I asked the hostess if it was possible to get a waterside table, and said I had no problem waiting longer. She went to check, and returned saying it would be 30-40 minutes. I said ok. We were seated at the water 5 minutes later.

We had our party of 5 seated waterside last Friday (dapper day ) at 4.50 pm with no wait. It was nice but with Pirates down for refurb and the water levels lowered it wasn't quite the same. Our table was just one, not two put together or anything.

I'm so glad you mentioned seeing the larger party - we will be reserving a party of 7 for first seating lunch on my Mom's 60th birthday and we really hope to get waterside.

Thanks OP for asking this, I had tried researching this a few weeks ago and found a lot of mixed info - most of my results had people claiming not likely/possible, and my last waterside table was for a party of 4 and everyone else had from 2-4 at their tables so I'd never witnessed it otherwise. I'm glad there is hope for our larger parties!

Thanks for all the responses. I asked because I couldn't really find an answer anywhere else.

I remember reading this years ago so we didn't even try then.

We were a party of 12 last year week between Christmas and New Years and were seated next to the water. Our reservations were the earliest dinner at 4:30 (that was the only time they would seat a large party together) and it was fantastic!

This is awesome to hear! Did you go early before your reservation and request a water side table?
