Can you make a priority seating for the BB if you only want to go for dessert? IS it frowned upon to just do dessert and not dinner -- will they look at us weird?

It looks like a great place, but i don't know that it will be what the rest of my party wants for a dinner.. there are some picky eaters.
But, dessert could be an option..

Does anyone have pics of the BB and/or it's desserts?

Not at all. Make the reservation and do not mention dessert. The desserts are great there. Here is a link to all the restaurants in DL and DCA.

Seeing how busy it was on the weekday we went, and how many people were trying to get reservations right then and there, I'm sure they LIKE the people who only order dessert, and are therefore in and out quickly.

LOL no problem.. It's just that i know my dd won't eat much on that kids menu, and my sis is very picky (yes, still at 27yrs old!) LOL so, i figured we could each get a different dessert and share, and soak up the great atmosphere.

Good call on the kid's menu. I just got done writing in my trip report about the kid's mac and cheese (or rather cheeZ, IMO). Not recommended. DS wouldn't even touch it, once he looked at it.

That's what i am afraid of.. if there is ANY hint of a sauce or anything on dd's chicken fingers.. she will not eat them. And it's too expensive of a place to be playing games.. kwim? So, dessert is something that we can ALL agree on!

If you're going for dessert, I HIGHLY recommend the Flying Dutchman Boat Cookie. So rich and delicious! Here's a picture that makes my mouth water just looking at it:

Like i said, there are 4 of us -- so we will probably get one of each and share! LOL yummmmmm..

We ate lunch at BB last Thursday at 11:40.

Originally we were going to just have dessert but we never got around to having an early counter service lunch first so we were starving.
We all ordered lunch and then shared a dessert, but I did see other there just having dessert.

Also, I noticed that most of the tables along the waterfront area were tables of 4 and 1 table for 6. So if you have a large party you may not get a waterside table.

We were seated at the exact same table as last year since we had a party of 7.
It was second row from the water but still a decent view.

I've eaten at the BB many time and I'm always way too full for dessert! So, last time we made reservations and just had dessert in the middle of the afternoon. It was great! I highly recommend the cookie boat!!! It's really big and can easily be shared by two. The waitress didn't treat us any differently than when we were there for dinner! Dessert is as great way to experience the BB atmosphere if you're on a budget, short on time or just want an awesome dessert!

The chest is edible, but our server said it was harder than a rock! So, I wrapped it, and carried it home on the airplane!

Totally yummy! I loved all three, but the chocolate was my fave!
