Do we need to make advance reservations for B.B.? What is the low down on this place? Where is the best place to sit and do they have a decent kids menu?

Hi. Yes, you should make advance arrangements for BB as it can get very crowded, especially during peak park attendance.

Last time I ate there, you had to make arrangements the day of your meal at the restaurant, but I'm not sure if this has changed as it was a couple years ago. There's a podium set up in front of the restaurant, and they take names and times there starting in the morning. I've never had a problem getting what time I wanted this way.

The best place to sit, of course, is next to the water. The whole restaurant is beautiful, though--great atmosphere! It might be worth waiting for a water-side table. People are constantly walking around the tables in the middle, which can get kind of annoying. It also seems like there's more room around the water-side tables.

I'm not sure about the kid's menu, but I'm sure it would include chicken fingers and such. Your kiddos may like the Monte Cristo sandwich--it's basically a batter-dipped and ham and cheese.

Just a tip--the lunch and dinner menus are almost identical, except for price. If you can pull off a late lunch instead of dinner, it might save you some serious cash! ;)

We ate there 3 days ago and had made PS 30 days in advance...I think you now can make PS 60 days out .

I requested waterside seating when I called and were #1
on the list to be seated at 12 noon when they opened .... We were seated right along the water.

I had the Monte Cristo and it was GREAT...We have always skipped BB thinking it was over priced...but it turned out to be not that overpriced compared to the other park food.

The kids menu folds into a pirates hat and I believe they have chicken strips, spaghetti and a couple more choices...(sorry I only glanced at it..forgot to grab one for the road).

I'll always put the BB on my list from now on...just like Cape May!

Enjoy!

Thanks for the link! Now I can read the menu :) . (The last time I was at the BB, I couldn't read the menu--it was too dark and I need to get some reading glasses :) )

When we ate there last Sept., we made reservations 30 days prior our trip. We booked for the first seating, which is 12 pm (based on my memory...you should double-check with the CM when making your ressie!!!). I also requested a water-front table, which we got because we were the first seating.

Our kids enjoyed the pasta with the red sauce. My DH and I shared a Montecristo sandwich, based on the high recommendation from the DISBOARD population. And I must say that we were not disappointed!!! We had never tasted anything like it! I've also had the crab cakes before, which was not as good as the Montecristo.

The adults in our group enjoyed the ambiance of BB. However, our kids were so-so with it. They found it dark, and were wanting to get out after a short while. That was the only downside to the whole meal with the kids. Otherwise, we had a nice time.

I have to chime in with my opinion of the Monte Cristo. Three of us ordered it and we will never get it again!! I had read such glowing reviews of the MC I wanted to try it. The first three bites or so were really good, but after that, ugh! It's very heavy and greasy. I ended up eating the meat out of the center, but leaving most of it. If you really want to try one, try to share with someone else. I might have liked it better if I'd only had half a sandwich and a salad. Beware the Monte Cristo!!

Checked out the link, is that the entire menu? Do they have specials, appetizers? I was not overly impressed with the selection! Already made a res. for 3/20!

That's odd about the curretn menu selection.. When I was there in May and October they had a few other selections.. calamari, field green salad, some kind of andouile sausage dish... these were listed as appetizers. They also had a very good clam chowder, Mint Juleps- which cost more than the other restaurant that offers them, dessert tray -very pretty but not that "rich" in taste for the $ ..
It was an enjoyable experience for the grown ups- the kids thought it was cool to eat inside the ride but otherwise could care less:)

Another dish I usually eat there is the jambalaya - a rice dish w/sausages & chicken, and I THINK shrimp, but I'm not sure -- it's good in my opinion, but a little spicy for those who can't tolerate spicy dishes.
