Blue Bayou Lunch or Dinner?

Nope, no ants inside. LOL We have been really lucky with that. Ours did break though.....it was dropped off the shelf it was sitting on, so we did toss it.

That's too bad. When my DH heard they were edible he decided he will eat it.

we just went there on june 2nd for dinner. if you want ressies you better call in advance. i called 60 days in advance, when i called back 15 days later to adjust the number of people they were booked and we couldnt change it. as far as lunch or dinner goes....we prefer the dinner. as far as the split plate charge....i ordered the prime rib and split with my son, they cut it in half and he had his own veggies and potatoes...so basically the charge is for the additional veggies and potatoes....

two questions. we each want a little of both so we were thinking of ordering both and just spliting it when got to our table, should we just do split charge?

Since you're each ordering something, I see absolutely no reason to tell them you're splitting it. Don't even use that word, lest they feel the need to charge it. :) If you say "split" they might bring out 4 plates, each made up nicely. The split fee is also to give each person a salad or soup, which you guys will each have anyway, b/c you're each ordering something.

Just get the items, and as you eat snag stuff off each others' plates. Don't say "split". :)

ty i will make sure not to. we eat pork chops alot here we may just decied to skip that get the monto cristo or how ever its spelled na dhten my cookie boat lol

To the best of my knowledge, this link has the most up to date information available regarding Disney Menus.

Here is the menu for the
Blue Bayou

The price I believe is still $4.00 for the split plate charge for lunch, and maybe as well for dinner, even though it is stated as well as being $4.99. I will need to have that clarified at some point, for I like being able to have 100 percent accurate information.
Last year, when I dined at the Blue Bayou, I had ordered for dessert, the Tortuga Trio of Cream Brulee, and the keepsake, was a miniature replica of Davey Jones Treasure chest, that had contained his heart. This treasure chest, does not include his beating heart. ;) Now that would be cool if it did, maybe not appetizing, but interesting.

shboy72's fiance here :)

I always keep this picture because I loved it when we ate @ the BB.

My DF and I went to the BB for lunch. It was less expensive & its also a
fun treat to be in there and kind of forget that its still day time outside.
I hope everyone tries this dessert because its ABSOLUTELY SINFUL :)

We aren't big breakfast people so we often snag a waterfront table when they open. If you make your ressies for 11:30 and get there at 11:15 and ask nicely for waterside, you have a great chance of getting it. We've done the same for early dinners, altho we usually go the Euro route and eat big lunches and small snacks for dinner. The comment about it being cool to eat at "night" in the middle of the day is one of things I love about BB. Others have claimed it too dark, tho...

What I am wondering about the Flying Dutchman Chocolate Chip Cookie Boat is this, the boat just does not look like a chocolate chip cookie, it looks more like a big brownie with chips, can anyone clarify this dessert for me? :)

It's a cookie, it's cut out of a big thick choc. chip cookie. Sooooo good...I want one so bad. LOL So, it's a boat shaped cookie with ice cream and chocolate over the top....mmmmmmm

To me, it had the consistancy of a brownie not a cookie. But it still tasted great!

Thanks to the great tips on this thread, I moved up our 11:40 PS to 11:30 to try and get a water side table! I also can't wait to dive into that cookie! Yum!

Thank you Denton :) for it really does look like a brownie or a single cake layer.

I am sure this has been mentioned, but the split plate charge is worth it. We were there in May and the Kids split an entree and it came almost the same size as the full size meal. Plus with the rolls being replenished constantly, you will not go hungry.

Once again, I read about the dinner rolls being in the plenty, well again, for I have said this somewhere else, can't remember where, maybe here ;)
Last April, when my friend and I, dined at the BB, we were each alloted one, roll, that is it sister!, no offer of anymore, and I decided not to ask for another, for I know, if I eat one too many rolls, it really will stuff me up for my meal. But still, I like to be offered more than one, especially what with reading more and more, that they seem to be in plenty of supply. I thought it an odd thing, only two for dinner, one each, what is this? food rationing! sorry I know it is not really a big deal, I am just wondering why I was the recipient of such roll pinching ways! :)

Plus what you pay one a piece seems rather cheap on their part. You know.:goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your experience. We had a truly magical experience. Our waiter was great, the food was plenty, and delicious - including the rolls;) to the point that I had to give my roll to someone else. I didn't want the extra roll and the waiter gave it to me anyway. I am not sure why they would ration the rolls, when that is a very cheap way to make people happy.

Oh, I know, too bad you were not sitting with us, then I could have had my second roll. ;) he!he!
The waitress, Diana, was very nice, friendly, helpful and most efficient.
I am thinking that the rolls at that time, were running low in supply
.

Glad I saw this thread. I am going to the BB just for the Monte Cristo but was planning on going for dinner! Good thing I know better now.

Have a most wonderful time Benny! how nice and exciting, your first trip to DL! yeah! :)
I don't know what your most favorite rides might be or become, but for me, it is the Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Yes, the Monte cristo is only served for lunch, and I highly recommend making PS reservations, for the Blue Bayou, the Disney Dining phone # is 1-714-781-3463, and it is not too soon to make such, at this time. If you would like to be seated, water side, you will have a most wonderful chance to do so, by arriving for your PS, at least 15 minutes early, so as to make the request, those requests cannot be accommodated by phone.
And remember, Fast Passes are a good thing to collect, and please no flash pictures when you visit the Haunted Mansion and the Pirates, for they are very camera shy, actually the flash can disrupt the sensors on the ride, and as a result, either render something helpless, or looking rather odd.
There is good information to be had as well from Hydroguys tips, they are a sticky at the top of the Disneyland forum.
