For those that have eaten at the BB - Do you see real young children there? I will have an almost 2 yr old and a 4 yr old - just wondering if it would be okay to bring them for lunch or dinner?

Sure there were little kids when we went for dinner there. Our 9 year old came with us, but at the table next to us had a few small kids (2-4 years old).

We ate there in December with my then almost 3 year old and my 14 month old. They did great.

Of all places, Disneyland is the place to go out for a nice meal with your young children. If anyone frowns upon you for that, they chose the wrong place to go on vacation!

We had a great experience with our very active 2.5yr DS (he ran in circles around the table toward the end, but no one seemed to notice). The kid menus turn into pirate hats which he loved. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks anyway pirate:

Hi

We took my 3yr and 5 yr old to BB last trip and my 3 yr old did great.pirate:
My 5 yr old pouted the entire time, had to take him outside for a little chat.

He told me he was mad becuz he wanted to ride Autopia again.
I explained to him that Mommy has always wanted to eat at this special restaurant and we'll do what you want to afterwards.
His pouting subsided a little, but he still put a damper on it.
Later that day he admitted to me that he was scared but didn't want to tell me.
We weren't at a waterside table, so it wasn't as dark as it could have been.

I just felt bad for the couple next to us trying to have a romantic lunch.:rolleyes1

I thought it would be okay but just wanted to make sure. Good point about it being dark and possibly scarry too.

I think we will try it this time at leat for dessert if not for lunch/dinner.

Yes, Misskitty the desserts are definitely worth a visit!

We had the creme brulee trio and it was wonderful.
They also had a dessert which had a pirate's chest filled with gold doubloon chocolates. My kids loved that.

i have been going to the blue bayou since i was 2 years old, my parents have always taken me there, and i have taken my young one's there.
we just came back and didnt get to go there, we were really disappointed. make sure you make your reservations in advance. by 10 am they were filled up already and were making dinner reservations for the next day.

by the way, the new pirates of the carribean is pretty cool, although my 4 year old got scared cause in one part it's pitch black. he was fine after that though.

It is definately a place to bring kids. There were kids everywhere when we went. Like mentioned above, if anyone disapproves they chose the wrong place for a meal without kids.

My kids like to go there for the atmosphere, but they hate the food. For kids, there is mac and cheese, pb and J monte cristo, and chicken drummettes (which they hated). I wish they would offer chicken strips, or a burger, or something else my kids would enjoy. They usually beg to go anywhere but there because they want a more fun choice.
