Took the BLT for DVC owners today at 1PM.

Very nice tour. I really liked the lay out of the 1 bedroom, the 2nd bathroom is a smart idea.

Tour started at the Top of the World Lounge, coffee, juices and sandwiches were provided. The room was full of DVC members. Because it was a cool day most of us were wearing jackets and sweaters. It did get a little warm up there. Air conditioning might have helped.

After refreshments a trivia game was played with some nice DVC logo prizes.

Information about add ons and special incentives were provided.

Here is what my wife wrote down:

Add Ons base price per point currently are:
BLT $120
Grand Cal $112
SSR $112
AKV $112

No closing cost ($340 value)
Waived banking guidelines.
No dues for this year.
Get '09 points to bank. (For April year use on).
Preapproved financing at preferred rates for all.

A free Disney Cruise for up to 4 family members on Disney's new "Dream" ship or reduced price per point depending on how many points you purchase.

Cruise details:
100 points = 3 night cruise ocean view room
125 points = 4 night cruise ocean view room
160 points = 4 night cruise ocean view veranda room
200 points = 7 night Caribbean or Mexican Riv ocean view room
250 points - 7 night Caribbean or Mexican Riv Veranda room.

or instead of the cruise the cost of points can be reduced.

BLT = $8 to $14 off per point depending on amount purchased.
GCV, SSR, and AKV = $19 off per point.

I actually considered adding on and buying points at BLT, and would have but our year use is MARCH. The presentation made such a big deal about getting '09 points but since it was for April year use on we could not take advantage.

Everyone who attends the presentation received a nice DVC trading pin, a DVC pad folio, lanyards, and a carry bag and Fast pass cards good for three fast passes at any Disney World park.

It was a nice presentation, no high pressure sales.

When did you get the bag of goodies, at the very end?

Oh man! I knew I should have gone on the tour this weekend when I was there....arg...I would have love to see it, grab some swag, etc.

Where were you staying and how did you know to go?

I'll be by myself next Wednesday and wouldn't mind spending some time with other DVC members. We have already stayed at BLT and we really did like it, but like you we have a March UY and I'm not likely to buy points this year, until maybe in December:goodvibes

That's very interesteing. I am still wondering if they will offer any discounts on BLT during the webcast next week.

WOW - that is better than I think I've read about here on the boards. Do you recall how many points you had to add-on to get the $14/point discount?

Thanks for sharing the information about the tour - sounds like DVC has taken marketing to the next step. ;)

First, I would like to know how frequently they are doing these too! (did they say anything about how long they will be doing these for (like for example, a mid-may trip by yours truly perhaps?!?)

also, how long were you there from beginning to end - I would guess an hour or so from the description - I would be interested if its was TOO long

In my room on the desk there was a card that had the general info about it. I bet if you call your guide or member services you can "reserve" your spot ahead of time

I don't know how long they will continue to do the tour. However, when you return to WDW, I recommend you stop by a DVC kiosk and ask the DVC rep if the tours are still available. We did the tour on 3/3/10 while we were staying at BLT. They said the tour would last about two hours, which included breakfast snacks in the TOWL, a trivia game/sales presentation, and tours of a Grand Villa and BLT's pool and community hall. We skipped the pool and community tour and talked to a Guide instead. We spent about 90 minutes on the tour, but some people spent more time and others spent less. BTW, during the sales presentation the Guides mentioned the incentives for add-ons of 100 points or more at all four active resorts. It wasn't until we met privately with a Guide that we found out that there were incentives for 50 point add-ons as well.

sorry, haven't been on the computer since posting this. I will try and answer any questions posted.

Let's see .... we are staying at BCV, our home resort. Temps this week have been cooler than normal, just need a jacket or sweater at night. We are here until Friday.

The tour for DVC members rgoes everyday at 1PM, you need to RSVP at DVC Info booth or call 52 from your room. (We called).

This special promo runs between Feb 28th, 2010 and May 22, 2010. You can only attend this special event 1 time. Their are 84 scheduled presentations during this promo.

BLT tours are offer at other times for NON members - this is for DVC members only.

As for how much off per point instead of the Disney Cruise, sorry I didn't ask. When we couldn't take advantage of the 2009 points I was no longer interested. Shame since we were only one month out of receiving this promo.

We will buy at BLT down the road, but probably will look at the resale market instead.

Wonder if you can schedule it on a Sunday? We're arriving on the 21st. Can't see why not. Crap. I swore I'd never make the 1000 pt club Like Mike but at the rate I'm adding on... :confused3

We attended this last Sunday so sundays are doable. We were told it was held everyday at noon until the end of the month but who knows how that works. They also said to get the deals you had to attend and we had 72 hours to decide. We only got the paper on SSR since thats where I wanted to add on but we got the highest discount there with a 125 pt add on.

As far as when you got your bag of goodies, we got them when we walked in. The fast passes were given when we left.

While there I did ask if it was going to be the same promo they were going to run during the web cast they said they had no idea. When I said I would wait until then to buy she said she was pretty sure they were the same. So not sure how to take that since her attitude towards it changed when I said no thanks I will wait. We did leave without buying and met with our guide the next day and did that add on then after we had time to really talk. At no time did I feel really pressured either.

Never mind. Just called my guide. Would you believe he worked me right in!?! Can you believe that! I'm amazed! (not really LOL) :rotfl:
