BLT to Epcot - Drive or Monorail?

With the schedule restrictions on the monorail would it be easier to drive to Epcot from BLT? I can't picture the distance driving as we usually take the monorail. I am not sure if getting to RD is doable with the current monorail schedule.

It's about a 5-10 minute drive from BLT to EPCOT. But keep in mind that driving to EPCOT means possibly needing to take a tram to the gate, depending on how crowded the lot is before you get there. If you can take the monorail (or bus if it is offered in place of the monorail during monorail down hours), you get dropped off in front of the gate. The only con about the monorail, if it is open, is the need to transfer from the resort monorail to the EPCOT monorail.

I would drive personally.

BLT is very small and no matter where your room is you will have a quick walk to your car.

Very rarely do we have to tram at Epcot, especially in the morning. In the evenings you can usually drive pretty close to the front and fill empty spots. It is probably the fastest parking lot to walk in from. If you are leaving at closing the monorails get packed.

With all the monorail issues, reduced schedules, etc...they have less and less appeal to me. At best you will break even in terms of time, so it just really depends on how much you want to ride the monorail and if you are willing to risk getting stuck on one.

Last time we stayed at BLT I remember long lines for the monorails and that was all before the schedule issues.

That hasn't changed, schedule issues or not.

With the need to transfer at TTC anyway, and then getting in another line and waiting on the EPCOT monorail, I'd just drive.
