Just so that you're aware, October is a very in-demand time for DVC resorts, especially studios in the resorts near Epcot. Owners book them up as soon as they can (11 months in advance) and sometimes the employ a technique called walking to get the reservation they want. Getting BCV will be next to impossible and BWV will be almost as bad. Do not count on getting a BWV standard view studio. You may have to settle for the preferred view, which will most likely be a pool or garden view, if you can get it at all.
If you think that you will want to rent a Poly Tower Duo Studio via rental, there's this little thing called a declaration, where DVD (the company that builds DVC resorts) releases certain number of each kind of room to members to book with their points. That will most likely result in a limited number of duo studios to start with. They will release more villas over time as more members buy points at the Poly Tower but it can be a slow process. We have no idea when members will be allowed to begin booking with points but there will be a period, possibly less than 7 months in advance, when only Poly owners will be able to book it. There's a lot of enthusiasm for staying at the Tower but not necessarily to purchase points there, so it may not be readily available to rent for next October.
