I am looking for any reviews for the BLT,especially 1 bedroom villas. I am considering changing my reservation to YC CL but I would love to hear some reviews before I make a decision.
Thanks!!!!!!!!:)

On this discussion board under vacation club "mousecellaneous" there are several reviews of BLT. Looks beautiful!

I was in a one bedroom lake view villa at BLT from 8/4-8/14. I really liked the resort. Although they had a few issues to iron out due to checking in on opening day, by the time I checked out everything was running very well. I really liked all the landscaping in the courtyard between the tower and the pool - they had lots of outdoor seating to just relax and soak it all in. Having two elevator banks really helped - I was never in a crowded elevator and they came fast too. It was a very short walk to the CR bus stop - it seemed shorter than the walk across the sky bridge to the 4th floor actually. The sky bridge was very convenient for accessing the shops, restaurants and monorail.

I loved the room itself. I liked the big windows in the living room area - it made it nice and bright. I liked the separate tile shower in the master bath, since I really don't like showering in a tub combo. I did try out the jacuzzi tub though, and it was great after a long day in the parks. It was nice to have the second bathroom, even on a solo trip - and I'm sure it would be really appreciated by families. I also liked having the washer/dryer in the room - lots of laundry during the August heat. The flat TV's had an excellent picture, and it's nice to have the DVD player since Disney's TV programming leaves a lot to be desired (and that's property wide, not just BLT).

Personally, I liked the decor. It's very streamlined and modern looking - which doesn't appeal to everyone, but if you've seen pictures and like it, it's even better in person. I also liked that you had to use your room key to access the building. I imagine that a few non guests managed to sneak in behind someone with a key - just being realistic here - but I didn't see any people just wandering around.

You would have to weigh the club level amenities and location of YC against the extra space and amenities of a one bedroom DVC unit and the location of BLT to see which would work best for you. But if it were me, I'd stick with BLT.

OP, I hope you don't mind me asking a question:

Is it a pain to check-in at the Contemporary and then have to go over to BLT? Are there enough bellmen to help with luggage between the 2 resorts. Thank-you.

We just booked BLT for January 2010! Can anyone tell me if they have valet parking at BLT??

Checking in at CR was very easy - no more difficult than checking in at WL for VWL or BC for BCV. As far as luggage assistance, I parked right in front of the door at BLT and took my own luggage in - it was 6am and there weren't a lot of bellmen around (and those that were there were busy with other BLT guests). If you pull up under the porte cochere at CR to check in, it is simple to have the bellmen unload the car and then call when you get to the room to have the luggage delivered.

There isn't any valet parking right in front of BLT. You would have to use the CR valet parking if you want valet. The parking lot at BLT is a good size, and wasn't even half full when I was there, so it just depends on whether you want to go to CR to get your car or just park it in the BLT lot. Personally, I think you'd walk farther going to CR than just self parking at BLT.

I love a good BLT, the trick is that the bacon can't be to crispy.

Sorry couldn't help myself, everytime I see the BLT abbreviations it make me think of the sandwich.:)

Ok, thanks, I think I'll wait to rent a car at the Car Care Center. That way I don't have to worry about parking.

Thanks for all the great advice,I really appreciate everyone's help!!!!:)

BLT is great for MK based visits. We split our time between BWV for HS & EPCOT days and then move to WL or this year BLT for MK days.

HOWEVER, we took the draw of the cards and got a ground floor room on our standard view reservaiton. That was not good because you could not leave the drapes open and you had to take trash UP TO THE 4TH FLOOR:scared1: to dispose of it. Given DVC's experience I can't beleive they made such foolish design decisions.

The Top of the World is awsome for viewing things but the relationship of a staff member in the lobby having to walk back to the elevators to put in an access card in not well thought out either. I think the loung on top will get some changes soon. Right now it appears to be a flop in terms of customers for the investment.
