Blt price increase?

Does anyone know of a price increase for BLT after the new year? We just got a call from our salesperson saying its going up and we have till the end of 08 to buy at the current price. HELP! We are really stuck on the fence. Are there any current or future incentives out there? and if so why doesn't my salesperson mention that? Could my salesperson be holding back on us?, and just be a bad rep? Thank you.

P.S. Any help to get us off the fence will be appreciated.

The price of AKV is going up from $104/pt to $112/pt after Jan. 15th. I haven't heard of any reported increase in BLT's $112/pt yet.

Your rep should be informing you of the standard incentives. Currently you pay the list price for either resort ($104 AKV, $112 BLT) and get a $1000 gift card plus free One Bedroom stay for buying. That promotion was just announced this week.

Future incentives are never disclosed to keep salespeople from giving customers advance notice.

In fact, it's rare that DVC will even announce an ending date for pricing. In this case they did--the offer above ends 1/15/09. We won't know what offers follow until 1/16.

I can't specifically comment on the price increase, however I can confirm the initial buy in for new DVC members will go to 200 pts @ BLT on Jan. 15th. This was from my guide yesterday.

Where did you hear of this incentive? I did an add-on to BLT on monday and was giving matching bonus points (to match my add-on) plus $5 off per point (basically a $500 giftcard was given from the DVC to the DVC).

Our mailing said that the current minimum add on at BLT for current members is 25 pts. and the minimum is going to raise to 100 pts. That's an $8400 difference at the $112/pt. price.

WOW. I have paperwork sitting in the envelope waiting for a notary and than I was going to send. What's this about a $1000 gift card??? I know I can negotiate to get that incentive since I haven't sent it back yet.

YES! From what I've read, your guide would cancel the current contract, and redo the purchase process under the new terms. Your guide should be well aware of this.

I'm curious about what your guide says - I've read conflicting reports about the $1000 gift card - that not only is it just for new members, it's in place of the $7 per point discount. Is that true?

It's only $5 off per point, I bought 170 so I got an $850 gift card.

If I got the new terms of the deal, I would get $150 more on the gift card; but I think I would lose on the points part of the deal... 3 nights in a one bedroom is less points than 170 SSR points.

What do you think?
