Does anyone know why the BLT lobby smells so amazing? Anyone know what the fragrance is? I would love to recreate it at home, love it so much! We were there in May but I was too shy to ask the front desk:blush:

It's a custom fragrance they designed just for BLT (we asked last time we were there because we loved it so much!).

I am very disappointed that DVC has not chosen to get rid of the artificial fragrance in the lobby at BLT. In 2013 I stayed there twice and both times I had asthma problems because of that fragrance. If your room is off of the north elevators you have to go through the lobby to exit. Other folks have complained about it too here on the DISboards and I have written to Member Satisfaction. (They told me they would check into it and make changes.) Asthma attacks are serious and can be fatal from respiratory arrest just from the lovely fragrance you have to walk through to get out of a building. I always thought Disney was considerate of those with medical problems, but this fragrance business is making me have my doubts. Even some of the H20 toiletry products are overpowering.

Now I am starting to worry about our 12 nights at BLT in November and December.

I can sympathize with you being another one with acute asthma, there are just some places I know better than to go: perfume shops, candle shops. Even certain resorts are risky, such as the Grand Floridian which has tons of beautiful flower arrangements & the poly lobby which will also set me off at times. Even the cleaners used in certain places are triggers.

They can't make the world anti-allergy to everyone, so they do the best they can selecting fragrances that will build lasting memories and have a negative impact on the fewest number of guests. They then depend on the individuals to know to stay away from those locations that trigger them. I would not want them to take away all scents everywhere as there are so many good ones.

At least smoking has stopped in most places, that is a true health hazard, not just to us, but to everyone. Now to do away with it all together :)

Just walk to the south elevators and take them down to the ground and walk out that door!

Problem solved! :thumbsup2

BLT lobby smells like febreeze to me. :confused3

As far as I know, all of the deluxe resorts have a scent that is added to the air.

Last I knew Disney uses Enviroscent machines and scents. Beach Club uses their Green Clover & Aloe scent cartridge. I never checked out the other resorts.

I agree it is amazing! Makes a big difference.

There's a thread on Disney scents located here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2871411&highlight=scents

In it someone said that a CM stated that the Clover and aloe scent was also used at both CR and BLT although IMO there's something else at BLT.

Personally - I don't like it. It's too overpowering and perhaps has a bit of a powdery scent to it which gives me a headache. :(

Thanks for posting the link - very interesting read! I do have to say I am one who avoids perfume counters at department stores but somehow I'm not bothered at all by the BLT fragrance - it is heavenly! Thanks all for posting your opinions!

I also cannot be by perfumes...but BLT's lobby does not affect me.

I also enjoy the smell of the lobby at BLT and BC!

BLT reminds me a bit of oranges... I have tried to find a similar smell of the BC to enjoy at home. :goodvibes
