BLT Confession of a BWV traitor

I totally love BWV and BW view. So I was surprised to find out last May that I also loved the serenity of Kidani. Today we checked into BLT for the first time. We have an even numbered room in the North tower with Bay Lake to the right and MK to the left. I am typing this from the balcony waiting for Wishes to start with the TV tuned to channel 105 for the audio. Love the cool pullout storage in the kitchen. Love the second bathroom and the sleeper chair. Love all the extra electrical outlets. I guess I am just a a DVC **** who will sleep anywhere and be happy. And the fact that we just escaped from a snowstorm at home makes it all the better. Life is good! I am blessed beyond words.

LOL - I was a traitor last month too at BLT, no guilt! I got the same view too! Only problem is was too cold and windy to sit out on the balcony. I ran out for Wishes a couple nights and ran back in. Back to BWV in November.

Good to hear that you made it out of MN. As a former west Michiganian, I understand how unpredictable the weather can be ---- even in April!

We had an even number North tower studio in 2011 and it was really neat to be able to see the park and watch Wishes. I am a Kidani guy, but we alway enjoy our BLT stays (and last week's two nights with a BW view at BWV ).

We are on 10th floor not far from the north elevators on the outside of the "C." I did online checkin and the room that was ready for us was on the inside so I asked if there might be an outside one. The checkin CM was more than happy to accommodate. We would have been okay with the other room too but I am happy that we can see Wishes and the kids can get to bed at a reasonable time.

Jean may not want to say while she's there but I was in 7906, which is 9th floor, it was a studio.

Going in Feb. if I can get in at 7 months. Aulani looks amazing and Hawaii is my favorite vacation spot.

So, happy you love BLT and location. I think every resort is special and for different reasons. I have only stayed at 3 different resorts, since we only joined in 2010, but loved them all.

We had a dedicated 2 bedroom same location in 2011. I believe the room number ending in a 4 it was on the 8th floor. Love the location. A little far from the bridge to CR, but my boys are older...no problem. But to be able to sit on our sofa with tv channel tuned into the Wishes music and watch the fireworks was fantastic .....of course we also could sit on the balcony....but it was outrageous that we could see them from the sofa.

We will be there this June. I hope we get the same location. The BayLake location is really nice. Plus, you need to remember BLT is a high rise building, so it a different feeling, easy to get around and plenty of things within a boat ride or monorail.

I'm glad you are liking BLT. The view and proximity to MK are priceless when you have little ones. That's our home resort and we are staying at Kidani in 3 weeks and I feel like I'm cheating on BLT!

we really want to try BLT. it is really hard for us to forego BW view for any length of time tho, so a split stay may be in the works . (or even better, another trip!)

Downside to seeing fireworks is when they go off at 3:00 AM and wake everyone up! Don't know what was going on at MK last night.

Your picture seems to be zoomed in which makes it seem like you have a better view than you do. The picture posted in post #8 seems more like what I see. The view is a parking lot, the roof of space mountain and the castle in the background, you really don't see anything else.

Help me understand what I'm missing.

It may be one of those glass half full or half empty situations. Yes you see the parking lot and the roof of space mountain but you also see the castle, the fireworks, and can hear the train whistle and other sounds from the MK, and at a Lake View point rate.

Jean: Thanks for the report. We are staying at BLT for the first time on our next triip. I'm very interested to hear your impressions as a first time BLT guest so keep the reports coming please!

Just to be clear, as a fellow BWV lover I was asking Jean to explain her thoughts on BLT. The wonderful thing about WDW is that there is something for everybody, views included.

Maybe I feel used because we bought BLT before staying there and we expected a better view based on hype.

I totally understand that! I think Disney really talks up the view and its not up to par with the way they talk about it.
