BLT Add-On Questions

We are here at WDW and looked at BLT last week, and I have until tomorrow COB to decide on doing an add-on at BLT in order to get the following incentive (which my guide said is now expired):

[1] $11 off per point up to 120 Pts. (101 per point)
[2] $13 off per point > 125 Pts ($99 per point)

We currently own at AKV with December UY, and these BLT would be December UY as well. He indicated there were "no more" 2009 points, so my first points would come in December.

I have poked around the many posts on these topics, including the discussion of the LI event, and the above seems like a resonable deal (?). My questions are:

[A] Have people been getting points to use right away, or is it reasonable that my first points would not come until this December? Is this something I can attempt to negotiate for?

Is the above the "great recent incentives" that have been discussed on here?

[C] If I needed to transfer these points/rent them -- do they transfer with the same 11 month priority at BLT? To my thinking, this is one of the things that make them more desirable.

Going to sleep on it, and then ....

Any comments / info is greatly appreciated.

HI - I can't answer it all - but was just going to say that I bought BLT in July with a Dec use year, and won't get my points until Dec 2009 as there were no Dec 2008 points as the resort wasn't open. I hope that helps!!

I don't own @ BLT but you should know that BLT is heavily rumored to go to $120. per pt. on 10/4.
Certainly that would sway me to make a quick decision if I wanted to add on!!

we just added on and we are getting 2009 points which are available 12/1/09 since that is our use year.

Since we are currently in the 2008 UY for Dec, he may have been trying to tell you that you would not be getting 2008 points (which no one did) and misspoke and said 2009. With a Dec UY, your first set would be coming on Dec 1st, 2009. If that is when you will get them, then you are getting what you are supposed to get. All BLT points started in 2009.

The good news is you will only pay 1 month worth of dues on those points. I think it is a pretty good deal at this point if you are ready to buy. BLT is going up in the fall and we may not see better incentives until next year. I was told that they really want to see if they can boost AKV and SSR sales so making BLT less attractive to new buyers.

Thanks for all the helpful information and advice. I just called, and we are adding 200 points at BLT. It seems like this is the best deal we will get for a while, and are really wanting to do it before the price increase and/or sell out.

This is the danger of having a great DVC vacation, and riding past the BLT every day on the way to MK!!! Those who want to resist are advised to avert their eyes.

The rumor is the increase is only for new DVC purchases. I guess, we'll find out.
