We have about 3 weeks until we head to the world and we still haven't decided between typhoon lagoon and blizzard beach. they're are 8 of us: 3 adults, and a 15 yo, an 11 yo, a 9 yo, a 7 yo and a 6 year old with us. It shouldn't be that hard but we just can't decide. We've seen pictures, we've read up on them but are still stuck between the two. We'd love to go to both but we just don't have the time. Please, help me out. It'll be like i'm taking a vote; type BB or TL and I'll tally them up and that will be the deciding factor in the end. I know I sound desparate but we haven't been to either one and we just honestly don't know. Thanks alot everyone!! :D

TL (of course it's the only one I've been to) Looking at fake snow doesn't appeal to me, I look at snow all winter!

There are more and better slides at BB, but TL is prettier, has the better wave pool, and has the shark reef.

With older kids, I think BB will provide more action.

Blizzard Beach all the way! The family raft ride is much longer at BB than at TL and more fun. Both water parks have an area for children under 48" - Ketchakiddee Creek at TL and Tikes Peak at BB. However at BB there is also the Ski Patrol Training Camp area, which is just right for the 6, 7, 9, and possibly even the 11 year old, too. There isn't anything similar for older children at TL, where they either need to hang out in the preschool area or tackle the big slides. The clincher is that the chairlift at Blizzard Beach offers an alternative to climbing all those stairs.

Have fun!

TL!

The huge wave pool and shark reef experience just can't be beat!

TL is my favorite but I can't say anything bad about BB. Why not try both?!

ARgggg. We just got back from a waterparks only trip and did both. We fell in love with TL, but we have always loved BB. So, here goes: Your older kids will definitely prefer the slides at BB. Much more challenging and definitely for the thrill seeker. For the younger kids, the slides at TL for more age-appropriate. (These slides will be kind of a yawn for the teens, though.) Also for the younger kids, BB has two kids' areas instead of just one. (Ski Patrol at BB is spectacular for the 5-8 year olds!) TL only has one smaller kids' area. The surf pool at TL would be a favorite for your older kids and your younger kids as long as the younger ones are pretty strong swimmers. Otherwise, the surf pool would frighten the younger ones. (My DS -- age 8 -- LOVED the surf pool.)

So, this probably hasn't helped much. I just asked my DS to give me a one word (or two) answer: Which do you like better. Without hesitation, he said Typhoon Lagoon. (We really loved the setting, I think, more than anything else.)

There you have it.

BB...... We enjoyed BB much better than TL. My daughter now looks forward to going to BB every year! With the age that you childern are....I think your family would have a great time at BB.

I loved BB but TL is our favorite! Shark Reef, the flowers and wave pool are awsome.

We prefer TL because of the tropical setting. It seems that there is more shade at TL,maybe that's just me.

However, BB will be a hit with your older kids. So give them the heads up and see what they say....
