Hello Everyone
I'm hoping everyone can help me out . When my family makes our first trip home to BCV in June we would really like to go to one of the water parks as we have never been before can everyone tell me which water park you like better we have 2 DS 9 & 5.
Thanks to everyone in advance;)

I think most kids will like BB "better" due to the hype over the 60mph slide.

I like TL better and I've convinced my kids it's better. Including the teens. Without being told I don't think you can tell much difference between the BB and TL megaslides. TL has the wave pool which is great. And the snorkeling if you like that kind of thing.

But the major factor for me is the beautiful landscaping at TL, which is much more pleasing and relaxing than the concrete snow at BB.

Whichever park you choose get there 30 minutes before it opens. You'll be glad you did.

We prefer TL, but the family raft rides at BB are fun. I think that it's easier to find a shady spot to hang out at TL, and that may be important to you in June!

We like them both, but think BB has a better area for kids and preteens, and the family raft ride is better at BB. Just our opinion though.

Being from NH and having a pale DH and kids, we prefer Typhoon Lagoon. The white concrete at BB reflects the sun and can cause sunburns very quickly as my DH found out. There is more shade at TL and we like the tropical feel. We also prefer the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon. At 5 & 9, I think the TL slides will prove plenty exciting for your kids!

Me too! I vote for TL. My DD's,7 and 9, LOVED it last year. The younger one even rode every slide and she isn't usually a dare-devil. I thought the tube rides were gereat fun - we sure rode them enough! Snorkeling in the Shark Reef was awesome for all - even the not-so-good-swimmer. The environment was great as well. Don't forget swim shoes and a necklace waterproof box for tickets and money!!! I wanna go too...

:D

My choice is for BB. I don't have kids of my own, but it looks as though BB has more things for young kids to do. Also, BB in general has more things to do. I like TL, too, but if I had to choose just one, BB would be it.

I vote for BB. It is not as shady as Typhoon Lagoon, but there is more to do. If you like the Lazy River or Wave pool then Typhoon Lagoon is better. If you want a great child area then go to BB. The family raft ride at BB is awesome. My kids were 7 and 4 when we first went and they had a blast here. We also went this past May/June to both and hands we all perferred BB--the kids were 8 and 5. THis May we are going back and it was all for BB the ages are 9 and 6. Hope that this helps.

Sorry for off-topic question:
dizagain, where can I get a necklace waterproof box for tickets /money etc? Thanks!

Hi!
Since we're from New England, my family and I like the quirkiness of BB -- you know being in the hot summer sun and all the snow melting!! We never miss a day there when we're on vacation.

BB. We've been to TL once and there just wasn't enough to do  . My 2yo DD loved the kiddie area of BB. The family slide and river were fantastic. She loved having her own tube.

I would choose TL over BB. I wouldn't let my kids go down Summit Plummit when they were as young as yours. The slides are fine at TL for the age of your kids. Plus I also like the tropical look and feel of TL better than the "concrete snow" of BB (thanks OneMoreTry for the wording....never really liked the look of BB because of this). The wave pool is awesome at TL and we love to snorkel at Sharks Reef. However, the family raft ride is much better at BB, but that isn't enough for me to go there. I don't care to go down Summit Plummit. I like riding the slides but I hate waiting in line for them. I would rather do the wave pool or the lazy river....must be showing my age. LOL!!

IMO it comes down to this....If you want better, faster slides, go with BB. If you want a great wave pool and snorkeling and better theming (JMHO), go with TL.

I REALLY, REALLY,REALLY, REALLY, REALLY seriously dislike the lazy river thing at BB because of the ice cold water that if impossible to avoid when yougo under the water falls. Does TL have the same type of mandatory MUST GET WET scenario?

It is March and I want to go in middle of the wee so less kiddos. I understand I am at a water park and should expect to get splashed/wet . Just wonder if there is no way to avoid it like BB.

What is the water temp at the waterparks?? Going next week and it looks like the air temp is only going to be low to mid 70's.

I would go with Typhoon Lagoon, particularly if the whole family is spending the day there. While the slides may not be as thrilling as BB, the landscaping, relaxed atmosphere, and somewhat tamer slides will be appreciated by the adults. They also have the Shark Reef, which is fun to cool off in.

Despite the winter theme, Blizzard Beach is too concrete-oriented for me. The theme doesn't just doesn't do it, and forget about finding any shadey areas.
