I need some advice. We will be in Disney this Thursday :cheer2: we usually just go to parks but our DS10 has been asking about going to a waterpark.

We want to surprise him and take him, but don't know which one...DS10 can swim, is somewhat adventerous, so is there one park that you might think is better, and why?

Thanks for all your help....:cool1:

They are both great water parks..... with very different "feels". If you are looking for a beachy feel with beach music playing and palm trees - go TL. If you are looking for more rides and action - go BB. TL has great rides too, but BB def has more intense rides. I would check out Disney's website, look at the rides, etc and see which appeals to your son more. DH and I personally prefer BB - but neither one of us is a 10yr old boy ;)

I say Typhoon Lagoon. There is the water coaster there, the shark reef snorkel and other fun water slides. Can't wait til I get to go again!

While I perfer TL, my DS when he was 10 was all about BB. In fact, we were in WDW for his 10th BDay & we went to BB every single afternoon. DH & I didn't moind since the temp was a zillion degrees with 10000000% humidity

BB just seems more action oriented to me. When we do TL, I do lots of slides, yeah, but we also spend more time lounging & doing the lazy river. When we do BB, we tend to go, go, go. Maybe cuz we live in the snowbelt & don't find the winter theme to be so relaxing....

TL has an incredible wave pool, the slide/coaster and swim with the sharks - all very unique experiences.

BB has better general slides and two pretty intense thrill slides. Problem with BB is that the lines for the great slides are very long by mid morning. BB is nice but it's more of your general water park.

I think my kids like TL better

My kids are 13 and 8. We prefer Typhoon Lagoon. Something about the whole atmosphere of the place. It's wonderful! BB was fun too, but TL felt like a whole experience if that makes any sense. We do TL at least 2 times every trip. We have only tried BB once. I really don't think you will be disappointed with either.

With a 10 year old, I'd say Blizzard Beach. But again, this is all a matter of personal prefernce as seen from the above posts.

Why do I choose BB over TL (we always do both as we can never decide!)?

1. BB has a great tween area (Ski patrol training area). Your 10 year old would love it and it rarely gets super crowded.

2. The family raft ride at BB is the best anywhere. Period! It is long and fun and enjoyed by 2 year olds to 75 year olds! There is no need to lug a heavy raft up a hill like at TL. The line moves very quickly compared to the raft ride at TL too!

3. The lazy river has lots of fun sight gags and an ice cave that our kids enjoy.

4. Tobaggans! When our kids were your son's age, they loved the toboggans. Again, the lines were never that long compared to the major raft rides/slides.

TL has a great Water Coaster. The snorkeling with the sharks is unique, but short and very cold water. It's a fun diversion.

The wave pool at TL is awesome, but it does have a tendancy to tear up feet and hands if you're timid.

The lazy river at TL is great for adults to relax, but our kids don't enjoy it as much as the one at BB.

There is no designated area for tweens at TL.

The lines for the slides at TL seemed shorter (except for their horrible family raft ride).

All in all, you can't go wrong with either choice. Why not show your son the different areas and let him decide.

I've never been to a Water Park but my 15 year old went with the band when he was in 8th grade.

They went to Blizzard Beach. He absolutely loved it and wants to go back.

I don't think I'd want to do Typhoon Lagoon yet. I've got an 11 year old DD and with the issues in the wave pool from perverts and the strength of the waves, I wouldn't feel safe there.

tough call, both parks are very good and very different. i'd probably lean a tad more towards BB for a first time. there is a good family slide in a large tube, a zip line your 10yo will love, an "obstacle course" area with floating "ice" to climb across. good amount of various slides, wave pool, lazy river.

TL has the water coasters and the tidal wave pool that are my favorites.

I personally love TL.... my sons, 13 & 15 like both of them BB & TL.

More slides at BB but I just love the whole feel of TL..... lots of great things there as well!

Typhoon Lagoon, they have some great slides, a lazy river, one of the biggest wave pools i ever been in :)

???? Perverts? Why don't you feel safe at TL? My daughter is 13 and we've never had any problems at either water park, but what makes TL unsafe?
