Blizzard Beach & Mini Golf questions

I'm considering adding a water park day to our upcoming vacation and have a few questions. I already had a non park day on our schedule that I was going to do resort pool time, mini golf and DTD lunch/shopping. If I go waterpark, I would like to combine mini golf in that day as well.

My DS is 6 and I'm leaning towards Blizzard Beach for us. We have a car and will drive there. My questions are:

1) Are BB and the Winter Summerland mini golf in the same place, i.e. same parking lot and within walking distance.
2) If I do BB after lunch, is there any risk of not being able to get in (capacity crowd)? We're going the last week of August, mid-week.
3) How much time do you generally like to spend in a water park? Is a few hours sufficient or is this really more a full or half day thing?

Any other tips you may have for a combined water park and mini golf outing would be appreaciated!

Having never been to a water park (but have golfed there) I can only answer #1: Yes, they are in the same location accessed by the same parking lot and bus stop. :thumbsup2

1. Yes they are in the same parking lot, right next to each other.

2. I've never been in August, but in March it has reached capacity first thing in the morning. One trip we had to go to EPCOT for a few hours until we could go to the water park.

3. It is definitely dependent on your family, the crowds, etc. If you aren't going to do a whole lot of slides and want to repeat them, and it isn't crowded you could get through in a few hours. For us, we normally go half a day (from opening until 1 or 2)

I would suggest going to BB first, going to play mini golf, and then going back to the resort to change and go to DTD. Midweek most families want a day outside of the parks and go to the WP that day, or after a day at the parks and the afternoons are more crowded. If you go the first day or two of your vacation you would probably be able to get in during the afternoon, without the chance of it being at capacity (which isn't fun if you are at BB at full capacity either--long waits for rides, harder to find a lounge chair, etc)

We spent 6 hours at BB on our last trip and that was at the end of September when it wasn't busy. The park might not close due to capacity, but it will probably be much busier and there is a stronger chance for late afternnon thunderstorms.
