Blind date anyone?

Okay, here is the situation. . . . .

I am a single guy (separated for over a year) who absolutely LOVES WDW! I planned a trip with a good friend for October 12 - October 16. A fun weekend getaway.

Through no fault of my friend, they needed to bow out. I am still going, just solo. I thought this might be a great chance to meet up with other single travelers. And because I have a few tickets already purchased, I thought a blind date might be fun. No expectations, just a mutual meeting of Disney fans.

So, obviously, you would need to know a little about me. . . I'm 6'5" tall. I recently lost 100 pounds through Weight Watchers, running, and working out! I currently weight what I did in High school! Finally, after a year of hard work, I AM NORMAL SIZE!!!!!! I went from a 46" waist to a 36" waist in less than ten months. Weight Watchers really does work!

I have a seven year old son. I'm an English teacher (so my arrest record is squeaky clean!) at a public school system in Maryland. I love the magic of Disney and attempt to visit every 6 months or so. Sometimes with my son, sometimes solo.

Obviously, this posting can not convey my great sense of humor, my caring heart, and my love of music. But know it is there.

So here's what I have planned:
MNSSHP on Thursday, 10/13. Hoop Dee Do Revue on Friday 10/14. Cirque on Saturday 10/15. So are you game for any of these meets?

I have a few requirements. . . . Must be a female, 28-38 and must love Disney! Feel free to respond on this thread or through Private Message.

you don't call it blind date.

you are planning a Diser's meet!!!

Hope you find someone!

Maybe since he is seeking a female with certain specifications (28-38) it could be viewed as a blind date, since the age requirement would exclude many of us instead of a general DIS Meet. :rolleyes1

But hey - Good luck in your search, Love That Mouse! :earsgirl:

Just a little help for you ... give the friend your age.
And a curiosity question? Why would you possibly want to go anywhere every six months? Sounds like a possible running away situation (to disney) and you will get lots of responses from friends here at disney.

You'll find the perfect soul mate. Just follow your heart. ::MickeyMo

well, that sounds like a great time! excellent choice of tickets. you also might want to check dismates.com.
good luck! (I am 40) so I do not meet the requirements ;)

Good luck

Are you kidding?????????? DH & I go to WDW every 6 months. I'd go every 3 if it was feasible.

Dang!!! I fit every requirement...age, lovin' Disney, etc. Plus I teach too...could it be fate?

The only downside is there's no way I could go next week. Wah! :guilty:

Hope you have fun anyway.

Huh? :confused3 I know you're new, but just in case you hadn't noticed you're posting on a message board of Disney fans. Most folks here don't consider twice yearly trips excessive. Lots of folks here would live at WDW if they could!

To the OP: Good luck! I hope you find some fun folks to hang out with!

Thanks for all the responses! I also appreciate all of the private messages. Now that I read my original post, I guess "date" is a pretty strong word. I think it's a bit "loaded" as well. . . . So much pressure. . . . I'm just looking for someone to hang out with once I arrive. BTW, the tickets are my treat. . . . . .

Wow, I thought that was a joke!! I can't believe there actually is such a site but I just checked it out and there is. I'm getting divorced and am determined to find myself a Disney fan the next time around!! I hope that site takes off!

Let me hijack this thread for just a second.....

Thanks! It was at CRT, and she just spotted Cinderella coming her way. Anyone who thinks their kids are too young for Disney at age 3 need to see this picture!

I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip. And congratulations on your weight loss. I am on the same journey as you, though I'm not as far along.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Are you serious? I go on a weekend trip about once every two months or so. I'm running away from WORK, stress of daily life, a sink full of dirty dishes, whatever. I hardly think two trips per year to WDW qualifies as "running away."

Lovethatmouse, if I weren't married, I'd come meet you!!

Too bad...I meet the requirements and have been dying for a Disney fix over the past few weeks and have been trying to work one into my schedule but that weekend won't work for me.

Have a great time!

I live in Orlando and am always up for Disney...I have a 4 year old daughter, but I'm a year shy of the age requirements (27).

Bummer fit all the critera but just got back on sunday !!!! shoot !! I hope you have a great time and i am with all the others here -- I would go more often if i could !! Michelle

Okay, I haven't had anybody actually be able to meet up with me. But I still have a few days before I leave. Otherwise, I'm going to Hoop-Dee-Doo by myself and Cirque by myself. I don't believe you can get a refund for these, so I might as well go solo and have fun!

My question had to be the most sincere and for all you disney friends out there you would know it came straight from the heart.
When my problems were at rock bottom I headed straight for Florida (Mickey was my destination). No clothes, anything, but my car and a few dollars/passport. The only thing that brought me home was I got lost.

So with that in mind, I too belong here with all of you - I hide in the Disney Store as my safe place. Did them a lot of good as well as myself. (When I say hide - I was a manager there).
Unfortunately, I never got to Disney in the last few years, but would love to go.

:thewave: :fish:
I hope you understand my comment now, if not I retract it sincerely.
