I don't know whether this has been mentioned already or not, but I thought that it was interesting!

"Blanco Appoints Witt

Gov. Kathleen Blanco has appointed former FEMA Director James Lee Witt as a special adviser to help her manage the recovery and restoration efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Witt was FEMA director under former President Clinton, serving in that position from 1993-2001."

Witt is smart and able-bodied, and in my opinion did a great job managing FEMA when he was the director. It's too bad he isn't still there. I don't think the state would be in such dire straights right now.
