Black or natural pantyhose with my new little black dress???

I just got a great new "little black dress" for a wedding we are attending on Memorial Day weekend. Before I would wear black because I like what they do for my legs (slim them down a bit ) but lately I seem to see everyone wearing natural with black dresses or going with bare legs (not an option for me with my very white legs and also the dress is very dressy). Just curious what everyone else would do? Thanks!

I would wear black with a very "dressy" black dress. The only time I might go with the natural would be if it was a daytime outdoor wedding.

DITTO on the TAN sockings .....I am trying to pull together TWO outfits for this weekend Graduations.

Then another Graduation May 27th and a wedding May 28th!!!

Another Graduation on June 11th!!!!

I am going to wear dressy black capri's, a dressy white sleeveless blouse and white sandals by White Mtn. for ONE of many outfits. (btw legs will be bare)!!!

A nude sheer stocking will look nice and summery. I would go with that.

I would do nude. I am with you on the black = slimmer legs but the "style" right now is towards natural legs; either nicely tanned legs for a more casual attire or nude hose for dressier. It looks really clean and summery =)

Thanks for the quick replies everyone! The Wedding is May 28 with the ceremony at 2 and the reception at 5, so it's daytime into evening that I'll be dressed. Since it's also Memorial Day weekend, I would like it to look a little more summery so I think I will go with the nude and I think I might also use a little sunless tanner, anyway (like I said before - VERY white legs). There are dressier nude hose too that you can take into evening - i.e sheer with a little bit of shimmer to it. Have a great time at the wedding!

If you go black, get an off black, looks better than jet black...but I would get some sunless tanner and go bare, you'll be a lot more comfortable and stylish

The question is, what are you wearing for shoes? If strappy or open toe, I would definitely say, sunless tanner and no hose at all!

Otherwise, if you are wearing closed toe shoes and arent comfortable w/o hose, I would wear nude nylons....as close to your skin tone as possible....ie, do not wear "Tan" if you are fair skinned.....it tends to scream, look at my hose!

It all depends on the shoes. You don't really want to wear stockings with open toes shoes. If they are closed toed and heels, I would say go with nude stockings. Be sure they're natural looking and not one of those awful browns.

If you have strappy shoes, go get a pedicure and sunless tanner. Or, they have the spray-on stockings these days. Lastly, they have toeless stocking so that you can wear them but still wear open toes. The girls in my bridal party all had a pair (just deicded collectively to tan instead of wear it). They come down over and around the back of your heel so that they stay in place and isn't a super obvious break in the stocking.

2nd this..... Get yourself some of that "Panty Hose in a Can" (not exact name, but...) by Sally Hansens. You'll be impressed with the results.

Wear natural during the day and you may wear black hose at night. Black hose during the day is too much. IMHO. Have fun!

I used to work in the hosiery dept at Nordstrom and if I remember correctly they may still have them but Donna Karan makes a sheer called "nudes" and they come in a ton of shades to match your skin tone. I think Hanes makes a version too. I am so pale I could be ultraviolet but those really look like I am not wearing any.

That is of course, ONLY if you are wearing closed toe shoes. You don't want to be one of those ladies who wears stockings with their toes showing!

Nude or none at all. The level of dressiness doesn't matter. Hose are totally not necessary in general now. Especially if you are wearing open toe shoes. If you are, skip the hose and get yourself a sunless tanner.

To me date & time of year doesn't matter either. I don't wear hose period now.
