How can you tell if a black friday deal will be available online. Just looked at blackfridaydotcom and couldn't tell. I will be traveling and at a tournament on BF and cannot go to the stores. Will be shopping on my phone only.

The only time I've shopped online on Black Friday was at Victoria's Secret and they had the same deals and had the same free tote when you spent a certain amount. But I'm thinking a lot of the big stores have similar deals online than in the stores. Or you can wait until Cyber Monday to do your online shopping!!

Last year Amazon had some stuff during that time, something like "lightening deals" at various intervals during Thanksgiving/Black Friday. There was a list published somewhere (I believe it was actually on Amazon itself) on what was going to be available. I haven't heard of anything like that this year ...yet. It would be cool if they did it again, surely they will.

The online equavilent of Black Friday in the online world is "Cyber Monday", which occurs the Monday following BF -- reason for this is many who were off work over Thanksgiving break will be behind their computers to start the new work week (and possibly snag a deal or two while on break/lunch).

FWIW, you're not going to miss much online as Black Friday, itself goes...

The last two years I've done all my Black Friday buys online. I can't remember most of the stores, but Walmart's flyer online would say "online or in stores" but then you'd need to click further to get to the actual item description to see if the sale price would be online also. (does that make sense?). I bought from TRU, Target and Walmart online BF so far. I also checked Amazon to see if they matched the prices, which they did on some of them. Again, I'm not sure how I knew the prices were online, I'm thinking I just got online when the sale was to start and checked it. I had no intention of going out shopping and figured if I got the deal online, great, if not I didn't need it!

Cyber Monday no longer has decent deals. The last 2 years I've shopped from home on BF. Got all the same deals. But I wasn't looking for a TV.
