Black friday buddies 2010 unite! BACK FROM THE TRENCHES POST YOUR WAR STORIES!

Thanks for the laptop advice guys. I just looked again, and both of the HP laptops are 3GB. I'll have to give this one some thought.......
The difference appears to be screen size, hard drive space and processor. The more expensive one has a dual core processor.

I've looked at the WM ad and I think that Target looks better. I'm surprised.

I haven't seen this question posted Has anyone had any luck with buying from TRU on line ? I really don't want to go on Tgiving but I do really want two video games they have starting the good price at 10p.m.

So I am guessing the sale at WM last year started at 3:00am then? Just want to make sure I am online at that time to get my deals! :thumbsup2

Do you have any suggestions for me to get a TV? :worship:

It started at 3am my time yes (eastern) but I see you are in OR (I lived in Salem!) so it would start midnight your time. What I did was went to the page a few minutes before it was supposed to start and just kept refreshing the page. Once the right price was displayed I added it to my cart and paid. I didn't add it to my cart first then refreshed, not sure if that would work too. Now last year it wasn't an instantaneous sell out for most of the items. I think the tv I bought didn't sell out until 20mins later? Not really sure, can't remember. I wouldn't assume that it will be the same this year. I think last year was the first time they sold doorbusters online. Let me know if you have other questions.

CNN has a story on Walmart's ad. It should be leaked soon!!!:goodvibes

Leaked??

I thought I read on one of the business pages that Walmart corporate was planning to publicly release the ad (in local newspapers as well as walmart.com), a full week before November 26.

If that's still the case, you can start looking for a good copy of the Walmart ad sometime, next week.

In the meantime, Walmart has already ramped-up their legal counsel staff (corporate attorneys) and warned major BF website operators (including bfads.net and blackfriday.info) in advance not to post any of their ads prior to "street date".

As for Target and most of the rest, the whole BF thing is something of a nudge-nudge/wink-wink sort of thing (they say that the ads posted on the BF sites are not authorized/may be incorrect, but they sure enjoy all the free publicity/advertising generated from the buzz these websites generate).

WM's ad is already out. It's been spreading around the internet all day. This is why people are suspecting it will be officially released earlier than expected. It doesn't really matter though, it's already out.

C&D letters to the websites don't stop people from getting and spreading the ad.

Edited to add: Even CNN found a copy and released info lol. http://money.cnn.com/2010/11/13/news/companies/walmart_black_friday_ad_2010/

Thank you! :worship:

This helps me out a lot; I have so many different stores I want to shop at and I want to make sure that I know what I am doing before I start online... Our local Disney Store is opening up at midnight instead of 4am (like last year) so it may be a bit difficult for me to be at both... Better wait to see what Disney Store has... Can't wait for Turkey Day! :yay:

I'm glad that it was finally leaked but I am the only one who thought, "Ewwww. Why couldn't you find someplace a little cleaner to take that photo?"

 Nope, you aren't the only one.

Exactly! First thing I thought.....I thought it must have been someone working in a newspaper collation and distribution site, that had to fold it up and take it into the bathroom with them to snap shots without getting caught. i bet they get paid for leaking it.

I wish they had gotten better full page shots...there are little details like the times particular items are sold that I can't see on the edges.

It sounds like Wal-Mart hopes that people will come in at midnight and then hang around until 5 for the electronics. It won't matter here because all of our Wal-Marts are 24 hour stores and people will just line up in the store. I might go scout the Wal-Mart stores while I wait for the time to line up at Target.
