Black Friday 2013 Thread?

Sorry if I've overlooked it but has there been a rumor or confirmation when Target will open this year? With ToysRus opening at 5pm it feels some others might follow suit

To do a price match do I need the physical paper flyer or can I show the online ad or printout of the online ad? PX is having a good deal on the SodaStream but I don't want to drive the 45 minutes to the PX for one thing and be on the wrong side of everything else of what I need. Though maybe I'll send spouse to PX and go the other places by myself.

Does anyone know if Best Buy runs the same door busters online as in the store? It's 2 hours away from our Thanksgiving Festivities.

I've never seen them offer the major door busters (at least the one I've wanted) online. Walmart offers lots of stuff online but not all of their best deals. Sometimes you don't find out until you log on, though!

Oh no! I price matched at Walmart last BF with all my other ads and they did it, no problem. If they aren't this year, then I will have to go out to TRU at 5pm..ugh! Hoping my local Walmart does decide to price match.. I am going to call the store and speak w/ the manager a few days before Thanksgiving to find out.

I always make my DH go with me & he hates it b/c thanksgiving is his favorite holiday. I might have to go out on my own this year. lol

From what I could find, they will do price matching on Black Friday during the hours of the sale you are price matching. Example TRU from the hours of 5-9 ONLY.
However, they will not be doing their "Christmas ad match" deal on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Which is the deal they are running this year where you can take your receipt in from a previously purchased item, and a sale flyer where it is on sale somewhere else and get the difference on a gift card.

I'm really hoping that they do price matching this year, Wal-Mart is really the only place close enough for us to actually go to, and I always price match Target and TRU deals there.

I like the fact that JCP put in their ad that the doorbusters would be available all day Thanksgiving online. They even have put the online catalog numbers in the ads.

Wish all the stores would do that!

"This is just the beginning. For the past two years, both Best Buy and Walmart have released their Black Friday ads the second week of November. Target just updated their Facebook page to hint that more doorbusters will be revealed later today. It is very possible we'll see the Best Buy, Kohl's, Sears, Target and Walmart Black Friday ads leaked this week!"

This. They are two different things. If you want the Skylander Deal matched at Walmart, you are still going to have to go at 5pm to whenever it is on Thanksgiving.

I have never priced match...do I just take the TRU ad up to the register or do I have to go to customer service? Also, is it a big hasel (like do they call managers to do it and make a big deal) or do most employes know how to do it?

I went to target yesterday and got the skylanders and infinity games I needed. So the only major things left on my list is some characters for the infinity game and a kindle fire. I am hoping staples does their deal for their kindle fire online or I can get target to price match it

First, I would double check with your Walmart before Thanksgiving/Black Friday but to the best of my knowledge they will price match it just has to be the same thing at the same time. No percentage off or B1G1 type offers. Just a straight up it costs this much there and this much here type of thing. I think what the PP who said they won't is mistaking the Christmas ad thing where they give you a gift card for the price difference if you've already bought it. They will not do that for Thanksgiving/Black Friday. The Walmarts where I'm at price match right at the register.

At the one I go to, I always just show the ad to the cashier and they do it themselves no problem. There has been a handful of times if the cashier is new that they will call the CSM over to verify or show them how to do it. It's really no more trouble than using a coupon most of the time.

This will be a true bummer. I guess I'll have to take my chances as a trip out on Thanksgiving will cause some family conflict.

Dell has a very close price on a laptop with similar specs but we really want the ASUS laptop that BB is offering. I'm assuming it's a major doorbuster too.

Note that for walmart price matching it has to have the same exact SKU. We tried to price match on black friday a couple years ago for a wii fit plus bundle from another store (can't remember which), and even though it appeared to be the same items in each store they couldn't match it cause the SKUs were different.
