Black Friday 2013 Thread?

Actually, I was thinking Lowes for the Shopvac, and Walmart for the Ironman video and children's toys.

Got a great deal on one at Lowes about a week before Christmas 2 years ago. We had one already but my husband wanted a second one for the garage. Came in handy when our hot water heater busted back in April. We used both of them to suck up all the water.

Well, we also need a new espresso machine now! I had ordered a replacement part for ours but apparently it's impossible to even open up the machine (it's a Mr Coffee ECMP50 cheapo). We're now looking for a machine in the $400-$700 range.

Love Black Friday ... but this year we are leaving for WDW on a 6am flight on black Friday :thumbsup2 ... shopping or not ... BF will be a GREAT day this year !!!
my friend (also going to WDW with us) and I are still debating on doing the Thanksgiving night BF shopping ... then heading to the airport (which is an hour away) ... Crazy?? maybe !!

Same here... sort of!! We will be driving down, leaving Thanksgiving morning. The last 2 years, though, I've done all my BF shopping online so I'll be on the internet while driving down ;)

Only rumor for Black Friday I have heard, they are opening 8 pm Thanksgiving night.

I love BF!

No idea what we're getting the kids this year. We have sooooo many toys that I really would like to look for some other options. I'm thinking a foam balance beam, a mini trampoline, creating an art center, stuff like that.

There are a few things I know the kids want (Legos and Angry Birds for DS, Monster High and American Girl for DD) but we are so overrun wit stuff that I'd love to change things up this year.

My ODD started gymnastics this year. I would love to find deals on those items as well!!

I thought I posted already but I guess not. Lol

I love, love, love Black Friday!!! Based on the stores opening up when they did last year, DH and I went out on Thanksgiving night. I actually liked that better than the middle of the night. I'm looking forward to seeing the leaked ads and making our plans!!!

My favorite holiday of the year, seriously! I've been Black Friday shopping since I was about 9 with my mom and Grandma. Now, they come stay at my house for Thanksgiving and we still shop together 30 years later!

Is anyone else moving the Thanksgiving dinner this year? It's been too much work to cook a dinner and get ready to shop with the new hours, so we're moving our turkey day to Saturday in order to not be so rushed on Thursday. Some people I'm sure would think we're crazy, but we figure as long as we're together, happy, and thankful for each other that's all that matters!

Love BF! Last year was the first one I didn't go out with the masses. I went to BB&B later and that was it but none of the stores had anything to tempt me and I got soured on the huge lines at WMT and Kohl's. I want to hit the mall this year as there are 2 stores I am hoping have a decent sale (Claire's and Hanna Andersson). And maybe disney. Wouldn't mind grabbing some stocking stuffers given our upcoming trip!

Dealhacker had a post this week they are planning to cover BF and Cyber Monday with full listings of the best deals. I don't know if they will list any until they go live or not. Lifehacker.com/dealhacker

I've already gotten a number of gifts from things they had listed for one day sales.

We were in Dillards the other day and the sale lady said that they were told they would be opening at 8 pm and that all employees will be working 12 hour shifts.

I need a good price on a package deal for a DSLR camera this year. Cant wait for the ads to start rolling in..Im like a kid in a candy store :)

Me too, my 20 year old DD has requested a camera this year, so I'm going to get the family to pool together funds and get her a good one for her birthday which is December 4.

We live in Mass to nothing can open earlier than midnight on black Friday, last year we didn't head out until 6:00 a.m., I didn't have any big ticket items that I wanted, and most items that I really wanted I was able to order online on Thanksgiving, but I like being out there in the craziness and I'm always home by noon. Michael's is a favorite, I always add a very nice wreath for very little money - it's sort of our tradition.

I love BF and normally go every year, even Thanksgiving night! But this year we will be leaving the house to start our drive to WDW. We don't check in until Saturday but we have a few things we want to do before checking in so we are going down a couple days early. So I doubt I do any BF shopping this year unless it is online!

Macy's issued a press release today saying it will open at 8:00 pm on Thanksgiving. It also listed 10 doorbuster items. I saw the info at the Gotta Deal website.

I miss the Old Black Friday...you know when it was on FRIDAY!! I miss getting up at 2AM and heading to stand in line. Talking to everyone in line...the place handing out coffee and doughnuts. Now its finish Turkey day dinner, cleanup and head to the stores. I HATE IT!!

I too miss the old Black Friday times. My father in law will be having his knee replaced on Nov. 19th. He host dinner every year so this year I get the joy of hosting Thanksgiving dinner. So I will not be going out on Thanskgiving evening but on Friday morning around 4:30 or 5 like I usually do. I just hope some stores wait to open up on Friday like years past (Sams Club, Mejier)
