Black Friday 2013 Thread?

I cannot wait for the Wal-Mart ad. Last year I got an AT&T phone upgrade for 97 cents plus a $100 Wal-Mart gift card. Both DH and I are eligible for an upgrade in November. Then we can turn around and use the gift cards for whatever shopping isn't done yet! :thumbsup2

I'm hoping for a deal on an ipod Touch and the Nerf Rebelle bow for DD.

I bought my DS an IPod touch in Nov. last year at Target. They gave a $25 gift card to Target. I kept the receipt to take it back if I saw a better deal but nothing that was worth fighting the crowds. We were in a cabin in the Tenn. mts. near Pigon Forge for Thanksgiving. The outlets were backed up so far. I was so glad I went on Wed. instead of Thurs. night and Friday.

We really aren't sure yet what to buy this year. Maybe looking for a new lens for DD's camera, an inexpensive laptop for DS and DDIL and not 100% sure about the grandsons. Legos will definitely be part of DGS who is 6. For some reason this year we are having a difficult time deciding what to do. Hoping the BF ads will help and we will be able to get some great deals!!

My son wants a PSP and gift cards for PS and ITunes. We will also give him clothes. I shop for other family members for my son's gifts my mom, aunt, cousin, etc. He will get books, Legos, video games. I get good deals for them and they pay me back. Extra money in one lump for me to shop deals for me near Christmas. I would love to buy a wide screen for the LR. I will admit we are still using a 26 year old console floor model TV. The money they reimburse me would not pay for it. Just put a dent in it.

I want a new TV (don't care where just want a big one and cheap) lol and new LR set for my new house. Beds and mattresses for all of us! We all have super old mattresses. Found what I like at Room for Less. Hope they have a good deal on BF.

Love Black Friday ... but this year we are leaving for WDW on a 6am flight on black Friday :thumbsup2 ... shopping or not ... BF will be a GREAT day this year !!!
my friend (also going to WDW with us) and I are still debating on doing the Thanksgiving night BF shopping ... then heading to the airport (which is an hour away) ... Crazy?? maybe !!

Last year I got a great deal on laptops for DDs at Walmart.

If the sales start at 10 again I say go for it! You can sleep on the plane lol

oh also xbox Live! last year think i purchased a 3 month subscription for 1/2 price!

We're needing a flat screen for the kids play room, a small flat screen for the "man cave" bar area and a new fridge. I also get really good deals on toys for the kids. We are going to Disney the week before Thanksgiving so I am not sure how much we will be spending on Black Friday.

DD and I were talking about this yesterday.:thumbsup2

Well I have started buy a few odds and ends already. I started putting out the question... So what do you want for Christmas. For DH a new watch.. a really nice one $$$, so I am hoping for some type of deal on that. DD just got married, and has really taken to baking and decorating, so she has asked for pastry bags, tips, some really cool pans. She also has been hinting at new boots and a trench coat. Also she will be getting some Disney related items purse, GC's, as we are having a girls only trip with my mom in January. DSIL only thing I can think of is GC's he is super hard to by for, maybe a watch but more along the lines of a sports watch, for work, he will need something durable. For DGS anything Cars, and a few learning toys. For my Mom Disney GC and whatever else for my Dad no idea except a BAM GC then no idea, also my Brother Family - I think I will be doing the GC thing, except for my great niece, for her I will go the toy route as she is little. For my BFF I want to get her a Margarita Machine, she loves margaritas, but I really need a great BF deal for this.

Bring on the AD's -- Happy Hunting to all

I can't wait for black Friday!! While everyone is heading to the mall, I'm heading to DISNEY!!! :cool1:

FYI depending on age of your daughter I got the bow for my child and its kinda lame. It really doesn't shoot that far at all.

Just wanted to add to this. If you are looking for something that isn't a toy try a sporting goods store. I got dd an archery set last year from Dick's. They have some nice beginner sets that are a step up from toy.

I am going to use BF to get a few incidentals but I don't think I'll be getting anything big this year. I'll scope out the ads as they get leaked though, I may see something I wasn't looking for.

I never seem to need anything in the Black Friday sales but this year I think I will!

I'm specifically looking for:

-Capresso Conical Burr Grinder
-ShopVac (Any good brand)
-Iron Man 3 DVD/Blu-Ray/3D-Blu-Ray/Digital
-Toys for nieces/nephews ages 6mos - 7 years.
-Super cheap Keurig maybe (but not likely, we don't really need one)
-Laser printer (just need black & white)

I think that's about it. With my luck, they won't have any sales on the items I need (other than the ShopVac).

I mostly see a bunch of junk in the ads every year.

Walmart always has good deals on shopvacs

Our entire family decided to just not do gifts this year. No one needs anything and we just voted out the stress.

But I like shopping on BF!!!! :upsidedow Maybe I'll just shop for me this year! Merry Christmas!!!

I LOVE Black Friday shopping!!

Last year my neighbor (who has a bad back and doesn't sleep well) was out having a cigarette at 3 am when I left the house. He woke his wife, sure that we were in the midst of some sort of a crisis that had me leaving the house at that hour. His wife assured him that I was just going shopping. :rotfl2:

-Super cheap Keurig maybe (but not likely, we don't really need one)

Keep an eye on Kohls. Here's the deal I got on a Keurig last year, a few weeks before Black Friday.

-Original price: $180
- Sale price: $150
- 30% Kohls discount: down to $105
- $35 rebate Keurig was offering at that point: down to $70.
- Kohls cash awarded for purchase: $10

So that $180 Keurig ended up costing me $60 :) And my husband LOVES it!

In fact, if you can find the code for that 30% discount, you can get it right now for $90, and get $10 in Kohls cash. So a $190 Keurig will cost you a total of $80 : http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-174922/keurig-k65-special-edition-coffee-brewer.jsp

Here are their other models: http://www.kohls.com/search/small-appliances.jsp?CN=4294719710&search=keurig

Merry Christmas!!!

Last year, in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, my husband and I agreed to go very light with each other (though not with the kids.) Instead, we gave cash to the people in our respective jobs who had lost their homes. We shared an amazing Christmas.

I'm hoping for a good Black Friday... Last year I didn't even bother because all the good deals started on Thanksgiving and I refuse to shop on the actual holiday. I'm not sure there's anything on my list that is likely to go on sale this year anyway but I still enjoy the hunt.

I second the no shopping on Thanksgiving, Xmas, Easter.
