Black Friday 2013 Thread?

We are staying home for Thanksgiving this year, so I can actually go out and shop on Black Friday, the last time I was able to do so was back in 2008!

I'm looking for toy deals, a new point and shoot camera, and most importantly a new Christmas tree. Apparently our Christmas tree was left behind or lost in our last move. We had been talking about getting an LED tree for years, I guess this is our chance, lol!

I just stumbled across this thread. Did anyone see the news blurb that macy's will open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day? Works for me.....I don't DO Black Friday. But I certainly hope the employees get extra $$$ for this. Am wondering if other stores will follow this idea.

I wish I could get into Black Friday but wasn't able to since I had to stay with dd. dh went one year to get dd a bike when she was lil . He got up super early and went t Kmart for the bike dd liked. He was 5 th in line and was excited to get dd her bike!

When he came home he was so mad. He said he waited in line and 10 mins before store opened a lot of late people got the and when the doors opened those late people rushed in! Luckily he got the bike and moved on to the next store and he said the same thing happened. That was he's first and last Black Friday . He's gone later in he evening but won't go early and wait in line lol!

His uncle would go to Walmart Black Friday and he'd tell us about fights and one man got his shirt ripped off his back! No thank you lol!

actually I like the weird hours! lets me hit more stores. Last year we did the late thankgiving ones, and had time for coco and gift wrapping before we hit the 4-5am ones. Really cuts down on the wrapping time... probally helps that I like wraping!
Any leaks on dvds yet? I need a few filler gifts

Desperate for a Nintendo DS2 deal. I know the thing itself will not get cheaper but maybe some sort of package with a free game or case...something! Even a GC with purchase!

Also looking for ideas for DS almost 3. He's used to playing with all his brother's stuff so he's beyond little kid toys at this point. He does like playsets and legos. But man, I hate all those legos around the house!

I really don't want to buy to Nintendo Ds(s)!

I miss the Old Black Friday...you know when it was on FRIDAY!! I miss getting up at 2AM and heading to stand in line. Talking to everyone in line...the place handing out coffee and doughnuts. Now its finish Turkey day dinner, cleanup and head to the stores. I HATE IT!!

I agree with you completely, just like halloween and Thanksgiving are overlooked in stores due to Christmas set up everywhere, I feel that same about Black Friday Shopping - Thanksgiving is getting overlooked. Don't get me wrong I love to shop on Black Friday, but prefer to do it on Black Friday and not the holiday itself, do we really need to start our BF shopping on Thursday? Because I live in Mass and we have the Blue laws, stores are not allowed to open until midnight which takes that needs to shop out of the holiday. Last year we went out about 5:00 a.m and still had a blast.

Our Target here two years ago had barriers and police. The ones standing in line are the ones that went in first.

Just popping back in to say YAY!!! The first ad is up! I'm also looking forward to the TRU Big Book being posted soon. To be honest, I'm not big on fighting the crowds on BF, but I like to know what the deals are to see if I can get as good or better before BF. I feel kind of like a lion stalking my prey... If I see something I really want, and I think it's a fabulous deal, I usually buy it online (most BF deals have been available online, although I know not all have). That has worked out pretty well for me the past 2 years. Gotta love the internet!

I have a suggestion for your DS3! I definitely recommend the Imaginext castles and playsets. They are pretty good quality and my DS (almost 8 now) has always loved using his imagination to wage battles, etc.

For those who are wondering if it will be buttons or globes at JCPenny it will be globes this year. I guess they had such a public outcry that they even have an exclusive 2012 for certain card members so there is not a gap in their collection. I am super excited for BF (but I am not a globe collector) I use it to go shopping for angel tree items. I am able to get nicer things for less money. Last year I was able to pick up the barbie beach house (20), veterinarian barbie (6) and a two pack of lalaloopsies (about 25).
