Black Friday 2013 Thread?

So now that almost all of the Black Friday/Thursday ads are out, where is everyone going? What is on your must buy list? Are you going to wait for any door busters? What time do you plan on going?

I am going to Target. I really want that 50 inch TV. I was thinking of going around 2pm but I am not sure if that is early enough, on other sites I hear of people starting to line up at 12pm :confused3 After Target I will head to Walmart and see if there are any DVDs left, then to Kohls to pick up some of those big throws they sell and some other stuff...

As of right now, our family is doing a 3-way split for:

Target- I think Mom mentioned a TV?

WalMart- Or maybe the TV here? (I'm really not sure)

GameStop- ME. Because all the Disney Infinity figures are BOGO. (Hello, $7 a figure?! SIGN ME UP!)

However, if Target or WalMart will price match the GS BOGO deal, I'll skip GameStop and join the family at either of the two giants, finish early, and go home to sleep. Work in the morning is such a bummer.

Double check but I don't think that either store will price match BOGO.

I think I am heading to Target first, DH wants an IPAD, and I am getting a new camera. I always shop all night, then work all day Friday, which I have to do again this year. Sucks, I am gonna be very sleepy as usual!!!:rotfl2:

Bahaha, right there with you! We always get home around 1-3AM, and then I'm up around 7-8AM for work. Not cool, but you do what you have to.

Does Tervis usually have any Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals?? I want to get a mug for my grandpa... typically I buy them at BB&B (which I can use my 20% off coupon for) but I want a specific one with a specific image on it & I doubt BB&B will have it.

I see a code for 10% off and one for free shipping at Tervis's site... not sure whether I should just pull the trigger now or hold off.

It looks like I won't have to brave Toys R Us for the Skylanders deal after all, since Walmart lists it as one of the items on their Pre BF sale this Friday. We have a new WM in our rural town which I'm hoping will be pretty empty. Now if they would only match the Nook from Target's ad. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one. This is all so exciting!! :cool1:

I don't like fighting the crazy crowds, so I tend to wander out in the early morning hours after all of the extreme deal seekers have left but there are still some reasonable deals to be found.

This year the gameplan is:
- Attempt to get the printer I'm after online Thanksgiving Day. It's on sale 50% off at several places, and printers aren't exactly the hot item on Black Friday, so I figure I have a good chance of scoring this without leaving home.
- If by some odd circumstance I don't get lucky with the printer online, I'll wander out to OfficeDepot or Staples a little before 8pm Thanksgiving evening. Neither is a hotspot of activity, and shouldn't have any crazy lines. If they do, and I don't get the printer, well then, it just wasn't meant to be. It's only a printer after all.
- About 3:30 or 4am Friday morning, I'll head out to Kohls. I'm not after any specific deal here, just some new clothes for me and a Christmas outfit for DD13.
- A little after 5am, I'll head over to Home Depot for $1 poinsettias. This is the item I'm most jazzed about :rotfl2: I'll probably also pick up our Christmas tree while I'm there (yes, I'm that crazy person buying a Christmas tree at 6:30 in the morning the day after Thanksgiving!)

Help! This may be a really stupid question but...

" Set your alarm: Prices drop at midnight ET on November 28th"

Does that mean Wednesday night into Thanksgiving morning or Thursday night/Friday morning? Lol.

What store is this? I would probably guess it is for Thursday night/Friday morning..

This is the Microsoft Store. The way it reads, I assumed Thursday night....but last year their sale started Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

They are rumored to have the Surface for $199 also. Free shipping. No waiting in lines!

I am sending the DH to that one. :p

2 questions:

1. Anybody know when Best Buy's BF sale will begin online?

2. Anybody seen any ads for Books-a-million or Barnes & Noble?

Anyone know what time Walmart items go on sale online? I really want the Nabi 2 for my little guy.

In my world (computers) people would generally mean the divide between Wednesday night/Thanksgiving morning when they said midnight November 28th.

But that doesn't necessarily indicate what the ad meant. LOL

ETA: (Sorry - removed. Referenced an old Facebook page from 2011)

In my world (computers) it would mean the divide between Wednesday night/Thanksgiving morning. Computer clocks basically flip from 23:59 to 00:00, not 24:00 (yes, it's more complicated than that, you can look at seconds and nanoseconds and all of that, but that's generally the jist).

But that doesn't necessarily indicate what the ad meant. LOL

ETA: On Facebook (Black Friday Deals at Your Local Microsoft Store), they actually state "And you wont want to miss out on our major Black Friday deals starting at midnight on Friday, 11/25. " But that's for the actual stores. Sales there I would expect to start at midnight between Thursday night/Friday morning. Online they may very well start the day before - if they are sticking with the wording you gave before for that, and the wording I gave for the stores, then I'd say the online sale would start Wednesday night/Thursday moring.

You think they'd make it a little less confusing! Just be specific and say 12:01am on 11/28. Then I'd know exactly when to start shopping!

I think the fact that everyone is still referring to this as Black Friday, even though most of it's happening on Thursday, is not helping the confusion.

Does anyone know if LLBean does any type of black friday sale? I need a new duffel bag and was hoping to get one there. I have tried ross, tjmaxx etc but nobody has what I am looking for.
