BL Challenge *RED* team week 3

Question of the day - Monday:
What was your defining moment that convinced you to make a healthy change?
For me it was not wanting to be the "fat mom" on a band trip to Disneyland. My goal at that time was to be under 200 by the time of the trip. So that meant I had 6 months to lose 37 pounds. I jumped in with both feet and have never looked back. I meant & exceeded that initial goal even though the trip got cancelled. That was nearly 2 years ago and I have now lost about 80 pounds. I still have another 20 - 25 pounds I want to lose and I will continue to work towards that. We go to Disneyland for Christmas and I want to reach my goal before then or even exceed it by 5 pounds so I don't have to worry about gaining ;) .

Which team on the Biggest Loser do you want to win?
I am not sure which team I would like to see win. I am leaning toward the Yellow team. The daughter on that team seems so determined to help her dad get healthy.

Well I am being told it is time to leave to take the kids to school and me to work. Hope everyone has a great day.
 
I would agree with the Yellow team. I don't know how well they will do if the dad is still restricted in terms of exercise. But the daughter Colleen, what a girl!!! Last week she was crazy on the challenge (the slip and slide thing). She seems determined for the both of them. I really do like them a lot. I don't really "connect" with any of the married couples, so so far yellow is my favorite!

Question of the Day - Tuesday:

Which team on the Biggest Loser do you want to win?

Hmmm... I like a couple of the teams I guess. I like the team with the little girl who is overweight (red/brown? don't remember lol) I also like the mother daughter team (The daughter won last week's challenge with Rocco) and of course the yellow team. Can't wait until it comes on tonight.

Hi all! I have been insanely busy with work!

I have two things that inspired me to lose weight. I had been trying for 9 months to get pregnant and was having a really hard time. I figured if I started getting healthy I would get pregnant...it worked! Also, when I was about 3 months pregnant my dh and I went on a cruise. We had to fly to our departure port and I had to get a seatbelt extender for a couple of the legs. I love to travel and plan on doing a bunch of it in my life. I really don't want to worry about whether or not I will fit in the airplane seat!

I have tried a new vegetable this week. I have a good friend staying with us and she is a vegetarian. She made bok choi (sp?). It was very tasty! In fact, I have had more vegetables this week than I have in a looooonnnggg time! She has promised to teach me how to cook some of them!

Good luck everyone! Only 2 more full days till weigh in! I am getting my gym bag together so I can get to it!

Ok, so I am very bummed about what happened last night on BL, but at least he looked GREAT! when they showed him now! WOW! I am so happy for him! I like yellow best...I think my least fav is brown...don't know why, I just don't connect well with them.

Can't wait to hear from the weight keeper! Should be coming soon!

Finally here it is. The results are in. The tabulations have been made. Everything has been double checked for accuracy. And the biggest question is 'Will your name be on the list?'

We started the week with 142 participants. We had 6 new folks join us and 6 folks have been removed for not reporting in at all. So we are still at 142 participants.

What I find amazing here is that 50 people have not checked in for the week. That is 35% or our participants. So remember ladies (I think we are all ladies here - if not speak up now) anyway ladies always check in with your weight keeper. She worries about you when you do not check in. Even if you had a bad week no apologies are necessary. Just try to do better the next week. We all have an off week every once in a while.

Please note - Thanks so much for the notes revealing your names. It showed me that folks actually read this junk I spend hours typing.

This weeks note is about those that skip a weigh in. If you come back after two weeks and have a great loss that is wonderful but you may not be a superstar for that. I take that percentage and divide it in half since it was for two weeks. That only seems fair doesn't it?

Also I need a weight report made to me every week. If you stayed the same still report. When you report state your weight for the week not just 'I stayed the same' or 'I lost 2 pounds'. I need the number of pounds you weigh. If you post your report on the team thread it does not count unless you PM or email a report to me.

Keep in mind I am human. I do make mistakes (sorry about that Red Team). If you have a concern please PM or email me.

My favorite all time Disney Movie is NEMO. I can watch over and over and still think its the cutest movie ever. Have a great Wedneday!
 
YEAH ME! I made it into the top 5 two weeks in a row. Unfortunetly, as I already mentioned, it won't be able to make that for 3 weeks.

I feel so BIG the last week. I am not over eating. My calories have remained in range and I have cut back so they are now in the lower half of that range. I continue to do my workouts. And I am getting lots of fluid in. And it NOT that time of the month, so that can't be it either. It is very frustrating. I weighed-in this morning so I can track what I lose for the month and I have not made any progress. Of course that is just an "unofficial" weigh in but it would have been nice to have seen that the hard work I have been putting in the last 3 days make some kind of progress.

Thank you for letting me vent. It is just so frustrating to be working so hard and to not see results.


Question of the Day Wednesday:
What is your favorite Disney movie?

For me I have to stick the the classics with Pinnochio. This has always been my favorite and continues to be even now.

That one is tough. It is always changing. For now I would have to say Meet the Robinsons. But all the others come in a very close second.
 
OH! You mean on the REAL Biggest Loser.....I was sitting here trying to figure out why the red team wanted the yellow team to win.

Yesterday was my birthday and my daughter took me out to dinner (she's 17, so it was a big deal for her to take me with her own money!) I ordered a grilled salmon salad with low cal dressing and ate one of her potato skins. Not too bad. Course, she did point out that I'm now "really old."

And.....I've worked out every day this week, trying to do a FULL hour of cardio (not a 45-50 minute "hour."). The scale may not move, but the behind is moving.

Congratulations to all the "losers" this past week. :woohoo: I've been working hard at eating right, drinking my water and using my new Wii Fit everyday. Hopefully the scale on Friday will show it but you never know. Don't get discouraged if you know you are working hard and the scale doesn't show it! I'll try to follow my own advise. :goodvibes

My favorite Disney Movie: I enjoy them all but I think Beauty And The Beast and The Lion King are my favorites. I couldn't decide between the two.
 
My favorite Disney movie is probably Chicken Little...weird I know but I love that and Rattouille (sp?) Classic animated would be Hercules.

Well I did somethign a bit crazy today (crazy to me anyways lol) I joined Gold's Gym. They had a really cool coupon come through for their Fit Happens program. Its $10 a month and since I'm using the coupon its onlu $65 to start! I go tomorrow for a tour and information thing. If anyone else has joined can you fill me in on what I can expect tomorrow?
 
Congrats Red Team for all the hard work! What d'ya say we rule this challenge for the month of October?!!!

I have started to log my food. Lots of studies out saying that people who journal their food lose more weight. It definitely is an eye-opener! I will try to stick with it. Having a good week so far with food & exercise. Hopefully, it will show at Friday's weigh-in.

I was for the yellow team on BL but I already know the outcome. I'll have to pick a new favorite before the end of next week's show. Kcashner - I thought the same thing as you! Why would I want anyone to win other than the red team? Then I started reading the responses and realized the question meant the show, not our challenge! :lmao:

Favorite Disney movie? Homeward Bound. I cry everytime! I also really like Toy Story II.
