Its interesting to see how we're nopt the only one's who have someone sick when we go to DisneyWorld. The first 2 years it was my husband becuase of the flight. His ears are really bad and leaves him miserable for at least a day and those trips were only weekend trips. Our first family trip we drove and I ended up with Larynigitis and sounded like a man our whole trip the looks some of the princess' gave me...hilarious.

Wanted to add that when I weighed in yesteurday the scale said I was up .2 but today I weighed myself and I'm down a full lb...I think the scale knows my weigh in day and wants to be eveil lol

How about some quotes for inspiration?

But, I've been doing really well and do need to live in the real world.

Katy

This is what I live by Katy. And that might get me to goal a tad slower. But I won't let go of it ever. So whatever will be.

My food is whatever I can do for the rest of my life. If I'll be eating it in ten years then I'll be eating it now. Therefore, I eat everything. Everything. (I do make choices of course - but they run in the "do I LOVE this?" mode.) Lately, I will only eat what I adore.

I love the BL because it makes me more conscious. I find myself actually enjoying and tasting my food more.

UGH!! Today is my weigh in day and the scale was not nice to me. I was up .2 . I was at the high end of my calorie range this week, so that is probably why. And I know most gain during or before their periods I tend to gain the week after.

So I am going to have to be really watch it this coming week. I am trying to NOT get too down on myself. It just seems I hit my current weight and my body rebell's.

Hi Red Team! I stayed the same which I kind of figured I would as the food in the first 1/2 of the week was bad, bad, bad. I got back on track the 2nd half but by then it was that wonderful time of the month for me:mad: The weekend has been ok, but no exercise.

My favorite Disney moment was the first trip we took. The boys were 5 and 7 and as the parade went down Main Street the boys were pulled in to dance around with some characters. That was it, right there I was hooked on the magic.

My dh and I were talking and I think I need more motivation ( I know, good health etc. should be enough). So along with the great new wardrobe I am going to go on a Disney Cruise  :cheer2:  once I'm at my goal. I need to lose a lot so I imagine this won't be for a while. I think I'm going to make up a little chart w/ a cruise ship for each pound I need to lose and put it over the tread mill. I'm really into visuals, can you tell.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Lisa

evening teammies ;)

i'm sitting here feeling pretty zombiefied...i was up early this morning and splurged on 2 beers upon my arrival home :rolleyes1 the good news is I completed a 1/2 marathon today :yay: bad news is i'm sure i've eaten every calorie back! sure makes me graze :rolleyes1 the course was a bit hilly and my quads are a bit tingly still...which will translate into sore tomorrow probably. but i'm proud to have it accomplished!

ok -- RED TEAM -- i hear a bit of defeat in everyone's voices......life comes at us and we are winners when we pick back up where we left off and move foward!! :goofy: :mickeyjum :dumbo:

Hi Red Team !
My husband and I saw a Wii Fit at Target on Friday and we bought one. I just used it for the first time and I really am excited about the program. This seems to be something I can do every day and enjoy it. I feel I got a pretty good workout since I just started getting some exercise in this past week. It has been about a year since I was exercising regularly. I have a lot of weight to lose so it doesn't take much to feel like I've worked out. :yay: Well, I just wanted to share this with you and once again commit to exercising and eating better. Have a great evening.

UGH, another update on my son. Well the ear popped today, just a little while ago which is what the doctors wanted it to do. But now it looks like this

I just don't know what to do. I assume its going to get worse before it gets better and he just started the oral antibiotics yesterday. I was at the doctros 3 times this week and his doctors is something like 30-45 miles away.

PLease send prayers for little pain Carter's way.

ohMom, A 1/2 marathon, that's awesome. Good for you:cheer2:

MickeyMagic, go for it. I think when I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with losing weight, the thought of the cruise will keep me going.

CharityLynn, that ear looks painful. Do warm compresses help at all? When my ds has had ear troubles that always helped him. Right now he's sick, my 12 yr old Zac, with a sore throat and an ear ache. He ends up with lots of ear infections so I'll have to keep an eye on him. I hate that he may miss school so early in the year. He catches everything that comes his way. Hope the meds start working for Carter soon

Congratulations on completing the half marathon!! That is just awesome, and so what if you splurged a little after, you deserve it and should be so proud.

Hugs and prayers for Carter that he is feeling better soon. It looks awful. I would say within 48 hours of the new antibiotic, if it's not getting better I'd have him seen again. There's so many resistant bacteria around today, you need to be careful. Good luck.

Congrats to everyone who has lost this week, and hugs to those who are struggling. I'm struggling with my eating this week, but did write everything down. We had a family gettogether saturday, and I ate like a pig, and when I tallied it up, I had used my daily points, plus 40 extra. I know journalling is key for me, and yesterday was better, but I'm not going to be losing anything if I keep that up. We are going to disney in january, and I really want to lose at least another 12 pounds by then. I am still exercising almost every morning, so that will help. I just went grocery shopping and am making chili tonight which will give me about 4 days worth of healthy meals.

Hang in there everyone! Persistence and patience is key, and we will all get there. Have a great, losing day.

Ok, finally some good news! It looks so much better today. He is in pain a bit but it is so much better so I'm thinking by the end of the week he should be so much better.

Weekend eating wasn't too bad but there was very little exercising. This week there will be a lot of exercising, no sick/hurt kid to deal with, we hope.

One thing I noticed is that the weekend suck for me (good thing weigh-in is Friday mornings:thumbsup2 ). I have a hard time drinking my water, & eating the way I should. I don't even plan to exercise on the weekend because I know it would not get done. So now that it is monday it is back to water, water, water.....correct food & EXERCISE.

Other than that the weekend was good. Another gymnastics competition, which went well. She got a 8.6 on Vault, 8.6 on Bars, 7.775 on Beam and 8.2 on Floor. She had a couple simple errors that can be corrected easily (not normal errors for her), but her All-Around score was still 33.175.. WE also had church and a birthday party. Busy, busy, busy.

We have another meet this coming weekend out of town on the coast of California = weekend away  Will do my best to be good ...LOL

Now off to do homeschool with the girls and start getting my exercise in.

Question of the day - Monday:

What was your defining moment that convinced you to make a healthy change?

Question of the day - Monday:

What was your defining moment that convinced you to make a healthy change?
Three things happened this summer....
1. we went to Scotland and I couldn't make it up the mountain hiking with my boys. I had to wait at the bottom:sad1:
2. On the plane from Scotland to the USA there was a husband and wife that were so over weight, sitting across from us in bulkhead seats. I could see myself getting to that point if I didn't stop.
3. When we got to the USA I saw a dear friend that had lost 75lbs since I saw her at Christmas!!!!! What an inspiration. She quit drinking, smoking, and eating and I felt like if she could do all that I could quit eating!! She is now my support via e-mail and she's lost a total of 105lbs and I've lost 16!

I'm not sure I have one defining moment, but a bunch of things added up to more than I cared to live with. I am at the heaviest now than I've ever been. I am going to be 40 next year, and as much as that doesn't bother me, it does get a person thinking about what the next 40 years of their life will be like. Considering I have a family history of cancer, heat disease, hypertension and diabetes, I figured it's high time I do something about the shape I'm in. And so begins a new life....

What was your defining moment that convinced you to make a healthy change?

I guess the big thing this time for me was when my doctor told me at just 28 years old that my cholesterol was very bad. It was 287! My family has a history of heart problems and diabetes and I don't want to shorten my life. I have a great husband I plan on growing old with and children who's babies I want to see.

Charity, hope Carter is feeling better. I feel for him, I am having terrible ear pain, going to the ENT on Friday to have them take a look. GP says it is not infection, may be sinus related or neurological.

My defining moment, our trip to WDW in Dec 06. I was uncomfortable most of the time and it was cool, so we wore jeans a lot. I felt like a stuffed sausage stuffed in to a lot of rides and such. That was it for me. Plus I knew that 40 was coming fast and my family history of diabetes looms large on the horizon if I don't lose the weight. Dr. told me I would be in my 70's if I lost the weight before I get diabetes, in my 40's if I didn't. There is no IF for me, but WHEN. I am choosing later, TYVM.

PS. This was my first multi quote!!

Congrats on the half marathon ohmom. You get a pass to eat treats for the rest of that day...the training burned a lot of calories, too! And thanks for those wise words of encouragement for the team.

Enjoy the Wii Fit! I love mine! When you hit 10 hours of exercise total, there's a fun surprise...so start playing!:woohoo:

Congrats Vern! We're a bunch of multi quoting fools!:rotfl:

Have a happy, healthy day, everyone!!

Hello all:yay:

I am new and looking forward to reaching my goal within the next year. I am going on a Disney Cruise in June and I want to buy a long slinky dress. I have always been heavy so it's something I've never been able to do.

I have been on this diet for 2 months now and so far I have lost 33 LBS. I have a long way to go.

as to yesterdays question:
What was your defining moment that convinced you to make a healthy change?

I am a single mom and I am tired all the time. Nothing fits right and I can't run like my kids need me too. I really need to be there for them too. I don't know how long I would be around if I continued on the path I was on.

Good luck to all of you :grouphug:
