BL Challange - Red Team - Week 1

What time is Biggest loser on tonight? i have to admit that i don't normall watch until they start rerunning it in order on another channel.

It starts at 8:00pm. I'm really excited and have been looking forward to it for the past month.

I've had a good day with food and exercise so far. I got in 30 minutes of aerobics, which I feel great about because I'm REALLY sore from The Biggest Loser workout I did yesterday. The top part of my legs and around my butt cheeks  are so sore I can hardly get up and down. But, I pushed through the soreness and did my workout anyway. I'm planning on doing the BL workout every other day. Right now I just can't do it every day.

Hope everyone is having an awesome day! :goodvibes

Today has been good. I will do a 3 mile (45 min) in home walking workout after dinner.

Hope every is keeping on track and remember we are ONE team so if you need help or advice or anything just ask.
Can you tell me more about the in home walking? :)

Hi ladies! How's the week going for you? I'm doing alright, not great but I have dropped alomst half a pound lol...I'm going to try and make that a bigger loss before weigh in on Friday.

Breakfast today was a cup of yogurt (Fruit on the bottom, mixed berries) and apple juice. Snack was a slimfast chocolate and peanut bar. Lunch was Select Harvest Soup Mexican Chicken..something lol with skim milk and a grilled cheese sandwhich. Dinner will probably be a smart ones meal.

I got my Mom to let me take her Ab lounger home and I have done about 80 situps with it. Changing my position every little bit to work a different muscle. I like it so I hope it works. I also did some hand weight exercises.

Tomorrow is a cardio day so I plan on really burning some calories.

I am going to start doing my exercises the way Sparkpeople suggest which is pretty much alternating strength training and cardio. I'll probably still do a bit of cardio on ST day and some ST on cardio day. But this way each day has a focus.

Can you tell me more about the in home walking? :)

Some refer it under the older version of Walk Away the Pounds. They are workout videos by Leslie Sansone. It is basically basic-aerobics. With 4 core step, marching in place, side step, kicks and knee lifts (she does add kick backs and other moves but you get the idea). I really like them because they are simple and not "dancey" like some other aerobics. She has MANY differenet work outs, different lengths (miles) some lighter others are fast more high energy. Here is a link In Home Walking that has more information. FYI you can buy some of the workouts at Target, Walmart and Amazon.com.

Hi buddies!

Unfortunately I am very  . My sinus infection is finally breaking up, so my nose is running and draining and I feel HORRIBLE!!! I didn't exercise this morning, since breathing was a bit troublesome while I wasn't exerting myself. One good thing, I couldn't finish my lunch today. So food wise I am good

b-coffee and pb toast
l-salad with grilled chicken, garlic toast, peaches(didn't eat my kashi bar or jello)
d-pb toast

I had 100 oz of water thus far.

I had some Swedish fish today, boy I like those a lot. :lovestruc Better than chocolate in terms of fat but still sugary/calories. :sad2:

I am hoping to watch some of BL tonight, but should go to bed early and rest. Hoping that this clears up so I can get back to my exercise.

Hope everyone else is doing well, once I feel better I should be much better off.

Sorry -- I'm Tavel

Hi Tavel! :surfweb:

Well it's Sunday, which for me is weigh-in day. So I am happy to report a first week loss of 4 pounds. It just seems IMPOSSILBE since I have struggled so much lately. But I jumped back in with both feet and it really seems to have paid off.

Now it is time for breakfast, which will be a waffle w/ SF syrup.

The battery on my laptop is low so I will check back in later.

Red Team ROCKS!

Wow, congratulations Christa. I know how frustrating the scale can be sometimes. That's great. :thumbsup2 Nice.

Hi all! I'm Krista and I'm 26 years old. I've been married for 3 years and we have no kids, but we're starting to talk about it. I'm just afraid that kids will cut in to my Disney vacation fund! :rotfl2: We are both teachers. I teach 5th grade and he teaches PE at a middle school.

I don't have a lot of weight to lose, but I do need to lose. I've been steadily gaining since I got married and it's time to put a stop to it.

Hi Krista! Good to meet you. So smart to come on to "put a stop to it" when you have so little to lose. Smart girl!!:lmao: Did you husband put on weight with marriage as well?

Hi! I am Melisa, I am 39 years old. I am an Insurance Agent for State Farm Insurance and have been married for 12 years. My DH is in the Army currently serving in Iraq since June. I do not have children, my babies are my 2 golden retrievers Barney & Thelma Lou.:)
My starting weight when DH left in June was 199. I am 5'4". I started doing weight watchers and as of last Friday my weight was 175. My exercise is walking my dogs every other night and on the night I don't walk them I do Walk away the pounds dvd. I do know I need to step up my exercise and am working on it.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated and I am excited to join you all and lose more weight.
Oh, my goal weight is 130.

Congrats on your weight loss Melisa.

You asked about workouts. I have two new ones that I'm enjoying. One is "Thirty Day Shred" by Jillian Michaels (BL) and the other is the Amped series which is a new (recent?) taebo series.

30 day shred is terrific because it is only 20 minutes. But don't get too excited everyone. It's quite the 20 minutes!!:lmao: ;) And the Amped series uses an innovative weight bar that extends (light weights). I enjoy power workouts and both can be put in that category!!!

Hello Red team. It's great to meet you all.

Hi Lisa!! It's great to see you again, I always loved your posts on the last bl challenge. You are so good to respond to so many of us. Congrats on keeping the weight off. SLow and steady is definitely the way to go. Having been a long time, repeat weight watcher, I know for me, the faster it comes off, the faster it will all come back on plus. I'm hoping to stop the yo-yoing this time for good, and lose it all, no matter how long it takes.

Hey!

Thanks. That's so sweet of you.

I will never yo-yo again. Decided that years ago. And wherever the chips may fall - well so be it. But none of that anymore.

You know last time, the BL in January, I felt that we were all just getting to know each other so late in the game. And I felt that too many of us were like islands. I simply didn't want that this time. We are a team. We will have ups and downs. All of us. So we should be a team. Yeah RED!!!:dance3:

Hi all!!

I am Vanessa - a LT WW member who has fallen off the wagon! I am 33, mom of two and hopefully there will be a lot less of me soon!

Hey Vanessa! Congrats on your LT membership. And double congrats for getting back on track. :thumbsup2

Oh I forgot to mention that after some thought and discussion with my husband, I am going to sign up for the half marathon in 2010. That gives me time to really start training and to get a couple smaller races under my belt first.

I'm excited and nervous about it. 13 miles seems like an awful lot. I am reading Marathoning for Mortals and it really seems like it is something I can do and enjoy. I get all teary eyed reading other people's reports after competiting in the races especially the Disney Ones. I want to be them, I want the t-shirt, I want the medal, etc.

So when 2010 comes around I'll be ru.

Wow Charity. Fantastic. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

I am really getting a late start on the introductions but here goes. First of all so nice to meet all of you. Some of you seem familiar from prevous biggest loser?

My name is Lynn, I am 52 years old this past June. I do not follow a "plan" I just really watch my portions as well as try to eat a lot of fruits and veggies, and protein. I do eat 3 meals a day and over time I have found the ability to "embrace hunger". I do like the way food tastes. My exercise plan is running 3 miles a day as well as on alternate days doing some weight/strength training. I have been sick of late due to allergies and not been exercising. I really need to get back to it. I feel so bad when I do not exercise. I work full time as well as weekends doing medical transcription. I am transcription system coordinator at a local hospital, working outside the home. My weekend job is working from home for a national transcription company. My DH is Fred and we have one daughter, Abby, who will be 25 in October. A lot of information can obtained about us/me from Abby's trip report from our Disney trip last year around this time. It is a really fun "read" and the link is in my siggie. Sure would love to go back?

My succes was to lose 25 pounds and maintain since last year's BL. I have another 9 pounds to go, according to my ticker....

Once again I am glad to meet all of you and we can do this all together.

Lynn

Hey Lynn! Good to see you. Good to mention the maintain. Fantastic. That's true success and I don't think we all give each other enough credit for doing that.

Hey, have you ever used a neti pot?

/
Thanks guys. Yes Lisa, I have used a neti pot before, but not recently. I am feeling slightly better after a few Sudafed and a hot shower. I may have some tea later. Hoping to stay up to see BL.

Unfortunately I am very  .

Sending you well wishes. Hope you feel better real soon.

Here some Chicken Soup to help you out. The best thing it is calorie free, so eat as much as you want.

Didn't help Veronica? But then again I don't know if you have regular sinus problems. Or if neti pots only help allergies.

Hope you have a better night.

It's not quite 7:00pm yet where I am so I am waiting not at all patiently for the next hour to be over so I can watch it too!

I have done well with water and am within my points for the day. I did the treadmill at work today and burned 150 calories which is something. Just going and getting on the treadmill is an accomplishment, especially when all I want to do is go home and hold my 3 month old! I work so much I don't get to see her as often as I would like. Well, I think I will go give my ds a bath to kill some time before the show starts!

Drink your water!
Sarah

Watched the show-won't spoil it for you West Coasters. I don't know who I really like yet, will wait and see what next week brings. Wouldn't you just love to have Jill or Bob for a day to kick you into gear?? I know I would.

Going to bed now before I decide to eat something.

Tomorrow is another day!

Hi Krista! Good to meet you. So smart to come on to "put a stop to it" when you have so little to lose. Smart girl!!:lmao: Did you husband put on weight with marriage as well?

He's small, so he likes putting on weight. I hate him for that! He is very health concious and doesn't want me gaining.

I have been sick and feeling yucky. I haven't eaten bad, but have done no exercise. I am hoping tomorrow is different. Actually I am saying tomorrow will be different if only I do 10 minutes. I have to do something or I will not get back into it. Exercise is my hardest part and the part I have to do. no matter how good I eat the weight will not budge without exercise.

That is my update for now. Tomorrow will be better.

Hey Michelle,

Hope you feel better. Have a wonderful day,

Good Morning from the desert!

Well, I'm in a funk. Yesterday was my WW weigh day and I was down 2.5lbs, which is fantastic, so a total of 14 pounds for the first month! That is super and I'm so happy about it. BUT...my clothes are not showing any size of looseness, other than my size 18 "stretch" jeans are too loose by about noon to keep up:lmao: but when I put things on, they are the same as always. Getting depressing. And I didn't sleep well night before last because I was worrying about my middle son and his new sport of ice hockey. Trying to get skates here is proving to be a nightmare, so I was up on the phone and just worrying in general. AND I was worrying about my youngest son who has some anxiety issues and his teacher is teasing him a little bit and its really bothering him :sad2: I didn't EAT through all this which is good and surprising for me, but still a struggle.

Then I did ok food wise yesterday until dinner. Busy evening, DH and DS13 have to leave for Boy Scouts by 6:35, but DH is stuck in a School Board Meeting, so they ended up leaving at 7. Long story short... lots of stress, no electricity, missed the Back To School night at the school, dog got on table and ate DHs chicken before he got home, .... I ended up eating the rest of the rice in the pot, a bunch of peanuts, etc. :scared1:

So... its another day and I'm trying to be back on track! Sorry for the VENT!

Still looking forward to our weigh day on Friday, despite the pig out of last night!

Katy

Good morning everyone! I hope those of you who were feeling lousy yesterday have a better day today.

Poohfriend, I hope your birthday was fantastic!:bday:

Yesterday was pretty good as far as eating...the food wasn't necessarily the healthiest, a muffin for breakfast and leftover tortellini and meatballs for lunch, but dinner was a salad with grilled chicken and I didn't snack at all, so I call the day victorious! Today should be better, since my plan is yogurt for breakfast, salad for lunch, and a Healthy Choice meal for dinner (I'll be on my own, since everyone has stuff going on in the evening...). If I can stick to that it'll be great!:yay:

I had fun watching BL last night. I really like the girl who's so committed to doing this for her Dad. I can tell she's really motivated and it's heartwarming. I was happy to see her get the immunity prize.

Have a great day! GO RED TEAM!!
