I have great news. Both my insuln and sugar are back to normal levels.

GREAT NEWS!

I was sure I had already posted on our thread....but I guess that's when my home computer crashed!

I have managed to earn 10 points for the challenge, but maintained on my weight....again! Well, at least it's not going UP! Got in a 10 minute walk every day....now to just s.t.r.e.a.t.c.h those out!

.....back to work!

I so want a piece of candy or McD's right now...I had a small bite of a snack size snickers---when did they get so small:rotfl: ?? I have a hankering for greasy fries and a coke that is all...I know it is bad and was hoping if I came and read our thread and posted this it would somehow shame me into not eating this stuff. I walked a mile and a half tonight, flat roads and recently paved, I used DH as a cane as needed but I did it!!! Sigh, I will finish some more homework and off to bed. Thanks for listening team and GO RED!!!:cheer2:

Please PM or email your weekly challenge points to me by 3 PM Thursday afternoon.

We are way down on participants so far this week so I better make a contribution.

Share with your team in the team weekly thread what your favorite form of exercising is and why??

I live in a lovely little neighborhood. The streets form a circle and I used to love walking around that circle. I loved to see the flowers and trees. I loved to see the change in seasons. I had several little ones that would come up and give me a hug as I walked by, since my kids are too big for that stuff I really enjoyed those hugs. I kept a chart and marked my walk everyday. I was walking to WDW. As I walked around the block neighbors would say Hi and remarked that they could tell I was losing weight. It made me feel great.

Notice that was all in past tense. Sadly I quit walking, sadly I gained back all the weigh, sadly I am now too ashamed to walk around the block again. I hope to again feel confident enough once again stroll around the block.

Share with your team in the team weekly thread what struggles you have overcome in making exercise a part of your routine? work schedules? burn-out? family responsbilities? Inspire others who face the same challenges!

Sorry gang, I got nothing here. I hate to exercise and I am in a constant battle to even attempt any exercise. I definitely am not an inspiration to anyone in this area. This response = 0 points. Sorry.

I think I previously answered the favorite form of exercise thread....running. I just love running.

My biggest challenge is just me. Motivating myself to get out and walk.

Good morning Red Losers! I wish I could have said Happy Halloween to you but I was slacking yesterday. Shame on me. I can look forward to saying Happy Thanksgiving though.

I had a wonderful post for you but through my non existent computer skills it disappeared so here we go again.

Attention Red Team

Please report your weekly team challenge points to me by 3 PM today. A new challenge starts this morning and runs until next Wednesday night. Check it out here. It always shocks me when I do that. I can't believe I figured out how to make that work.

Red Team question of the day

Tell about your Halloween.

Me first. DH was in charge of getting the candy this year. We usually have about 60 trick or treaters. Carloads of out of the area kids visit our neighborhood. So this year DH gets full size candy bars at Sam's. He buys 3 BOXES, a total of 96 BARS!! Between DH, DS and myself 25 bars disappear before Halloween. Last night we have 11, yes 11 trick or treaters. So now I have over 60 leftover full size candy bars, and they call my name. DH is going to put some on the work van and put some at this shop, which is not at our home right now. But today they are still dwelling in my home. They are in the office sitting across the room from me. I have not had breakfast yet and they are calling for me. I promise I will not eat any candy bars today. When I am done with this post they will be banished into the closet. The door will muffle their screams for me.

I know some of you have resisted the Halloween temptations and I am very proud of you. Some of us have had some infractions. So Red Team what are we going to do about that? What are we going to do today to get back on track?

My candy bars will be in the closet and I am having salad today. I have not had salad in over two weeks. I need to get back on track. I hope you are doing well with your weight loss program. I am now off to tabulate our weigh in numbers. Stay tuned for the weekly official announcement later today.

Have a healthy day!

Hi Brenda...maybe if you put a towel over them their screams will be stifled a bit more...We usually only have about 15 or so kids come, last night we had 1. :confused3 I bought 4 bags of minis that I mix and give handfuls to those who come visit us. Last night DS, 18, and his friends handed out candy but ate most of it for me :thumbsup2 ...however the kids are at school and their loot is calling me too. I will not eat it, I had my bite last night and even walked the kids around the neighborhood. I love to walk too...our street is finally paved with nice sidewalks after a major sewerage project at this end of town. I did not realize how nice it was until I took them out last night so on Sunday I will begin walking it again at night and when I get home from work. I have a 6' 4" DH and even taller DS, a passel of cherubs, and a St. Bernard any of them that I can snag to walk with me. How about it Brenda...we could do it together, each of us walk a bit every night. You could start out with going down 2 houses and each day add a bit...I will if you will:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Have a great day RED TEAM...WE CAN DO IT!!!:cheer2:

You're on. I am enjoying the cooler weather and have been thinking that it is a wonderful time to be walking around the block. I hate the heat and I remember when I had to get up really early to walk before it got unbearable outside. I also love this time of year to see all the colors and falling leaves. I used to walk 30 minutes at a time, but I think I will have to work up to that. I will start with at least 10 minutes TODAY. I realize your schedule may not allow you to start until Sunday, but I need to get moving NOW!

I walked around our mall yesterday for about 10 minutes. I was meeting the ladies at church for lunch but no one showed up. I guess I was not informed about a change in time and/or place. Since I was in 'me time' mode I strolled around the mall. I have not been there in a long time. A lot has changed.

Thanks for the challenge Michelle, it's just what I needed.

I have great news. Both my insuln and sugar are back to normal levels.

Way to go!:woohoo: :woohoo:

I did not do this weeks challenge, I'm sorry. I've been pretty sick and just couldn't do it.

I started feeling better last night so we went out and got a pumpkin then made a Jack-o-lantern. It came out pretty good!

I didn't do the challenge either. I wasn't on-line much at all last week so never saw it.

Please PM or email your weekly challenge points to me by 3 PM Thursday afternoon.

I don't have a favorite form of exercise since I HATE to exercise. My big reason? I don't like sweat. Yep, that's it. Once I start to sweat I am so over it already. I have forced myself to do it though. i joined curves and was really good about going, then my work schedule changed and it was too hard to go with their very restrictive hours so I stopped. So I guess I would say motivating myself and my work schedule are my downfalls. next week my schedule will be the same from now on since I am starting a new job.

Good morning Red Losers! I wish I could have said Happy Halloween to you but I was slacking yesterday. Shame on me. I can look forward to saying Happy Thanksgiving though.

Halloweeen was boring here. Hardly any trick or treaters. Lots of candy left over so it is going into work on Saturday and will be a going away present for the 3 girls I share an office with.

OK Brenda you are on...I will begin today as well and check in tomorrow.:goodvibes :thumbsup2

Ok, Let me get this straight in my head....Red Teamers are sharing today for Challenege #5, correct? I think I already did this, but ack! can't remember, so will do it (maybe again) to make sure.

Share with your team in the team weekly thread what your favorite form of exercising is (biking, running, powerwalking, yoga, etc) and why?? -- max 5 pts

Walking with my DH in the morning :teeth:. Sometimes we walk on the street near our house later at night and that's nice too.

Share with your team in the team weekly thread what struggles you have overcome in making exercise a part of your routine? work schedules? burn-out? family responsbilities? Inspire others who face the same challenges! -- max 5 pts

My struggles? I'm a slug, I admit it. I'd rather read a book or work on my historical research or DIS than (ewwwwwwwwww) do exercise. But, Teamers, listen to me. If I can walk 2 miles in the morning or walk around the block or park the farthest from the store's doors?...so can you. If I can carry two 16 oz (1 lb) bottles of "02" water and do weight-lifting while I walk?...so can YOU. Sometimes I have to say to myself, the journey of a thousand miles begins with only ONE STEP! You won't ever get to the finish line, if in your mind you convince yourself that you will NOT take that first step. One of the most important muscles to exercise when trying to live healthier is your mind and your willpower. Say no to that cookie. Say no to that 2nd piece of candy. Say yes to yourself. And remember - You can do it...we can help  .

Our loss this week was not impressive, but at least we are losing, and a large percentage of our team is checking in. Our weekly gains and no changes affect our total numbers but I don't care. I want us all in this together and I need to hear about your progress each week no matter what.

Nice job with the challenge again Red Team. We are winning these challenges because we have more team members participating. See like I always say EVERY POINT COUNTS. We are winning because everyone is making an effort to participate. The total maximum score for this weeks challenge is 55.

I challenge all red team members to try to get a perfect score of 55 points.

If this is the week to get your nails and toes done I know you can get all 55 points.

Congratulations to our Biggest Losers and top weekly challenge scorers. I am very proud of you Red Team. Keep up the good work. I know we will eventually be the #1 team with weight loss. We just need to keep working hard and doing our best everyday.

RED TEAM ROCKS!!!

Hmmmm...well, like I've alluded to my entire system has gone haywire this week, hopefully everything will settle down now.

Anyway, this is my "Sharing how I spend time just for myself, etc. " (5 points!

I do research.
Now, I know that doesn't sound exciting, but when I was helping people find missing family-members after Katrina, I found out something...I'm GOOD at it. Good at finding information. Good at asking questions. Good at taking a fresh look at an old situation. Good at NOT GIVING UP.
So, I've gotten interested in doing historical/geneaological research. And I'm not a professional and sometimes that wastes time and sometimes that leads me to consult sources others have never thought of.
Right now I'm stuck on a distant cousin, a fifer in the Union Army who passed away during the Civil War.
At a Camp within 1/2 hour of my house.
Where the CIA now has its headquarters.
And no-one knows where his grave is.
And I'm going to find it. (At least I will try my darnedest.)
Then there's the great great great great great grandfather who was supposed to have done all sorts of things in the Revolutionary War, *but*...
I'm finding out all sorts of stuff about him - *but*, I still haven't found the answer to the main question I have about him...kind of a "What did you *really* do in the War, Granddad?"

And I do some acting too.

agnes!

Good morning Red Team. How about celebrating another victory? You guys rock!!

Red Team question of the day

This question was posed by Biggest Loser Central. I wanted to post if after the holiday. It has been discussed on the other team threads but I wanted the hear what the Red Team has to say.

The traffic on our team threads is really down. How would you feel about merging the weekly team threads?

Me first. It would be nice to visit and get to know others that are taking this challenge also. But the competitive side of me sees them as the opposition. I think I am more comfortable on our Red Team thread with those that I am competing with not against.

What are you up to this weekend Red Team? Our thread gets really quiet over the weekend, check in now so I don't worry about you.

Have a healthy day!

I don't think merging would be a bad idea. We'd get to know other dis members.

My weekend is movies and stopping at my parents.

I think merging the team threads might be a great idea, motivationally speaking ;) From a competition standpoint, seeing what others are doing/achieving may make me work harder and be more focused. From the support standpoint, seeing what others are doing/achieving may make me work harder and be more focused!

Sounds like a win/win to me!

Oh, forgot about the question of the day:

This weekend I will, once again, consider doing some housework :lmao: and straightening up my office/craft room!

I will also take THE LONGEST WALK I POSSIBLY CAN...as a test for how much I have to achieve over the next month, before WDW. AND I will work on the team challenge too!

Challenge question......
Getting rid of everyone and just hanging out by myself is how I recharge. That's what I did yesterday and it was great!!.

How I did on Halloween....
I feel pretty good about myself with this. I did not open the candy before Halloween which is a major accomplishment. I had maybe 6 pieces of candy and am building any additional candy into my diet.

Merging the threads....
It would be fine with me either way. I like having our own thread to post on but wouldn't mind hanging out with the other teams either.

Like Brenda it would feel weird to me but I am game if everyone else is...:goodvibes I am the chair of our church fair. I have been at the church for the last 2 days for 12 hours each day and will spend tomorrow there as well...looks like a yucky day for a fair. AND BRENDA...my walking challenger, lol...I did about 10 minutes last night and again today and you.....:goodvibes

I don't have a whole lot of time to myself these days...but tomorrow, I cam going to have a cut and color and a pedicure. I am very excited!

Also, the time I spend excercising, especially my pilates reformer sessions.

Good morning everyone! Its windy and rainy today because the remnants of hurricane Noel is passing by. DD is supposed to be performing with the marching band but I don't know....it might get canceled. They were saying we could get wind gusts up to 70 mph but it doesn't seem bad at all right now. Its just a little windy and rainy!

Tomorrow I'm going to go shopping for an exercise bike. Does anyone have any recomendations and/or advice?
