BL 3 - Red Team week 5

I'm actually enjoying this week's challenge. Although I've had to move the car a couple of times :lmao: SURE, when you don't WANT a parking spot right in front...there they all are. I'd whip in the spot, turn off the engine and then say "Oh, yeah" and move to the other side of the lot!

I have two old friends I will try and make contact with this weekend, one from junior high that I haven't talked to in several years and the other an old room-mate that I've also lost contact with.

Now I just have to kick my sister and brother-in-law out of their house so I can do that bubble bath in their big luxury tub! ::yes::

Have a good weekend everybody!

.

I am finding this challenge extreamly easy! Thank goodness.. I just have to keep reminding myself to park far away.. so at work i take the parking spot wayy back in the corner.. and then i take the stairs instead of the elevator.. HATE it... but i will do it.. lol I need to motivate myself to excersize today.. I kinda just feel like bummin all day.. Hope u all have a wonderful day!

Hi Team,

Sorry, I've been not posting for a few days. My new job is giving me limited time for fun stuff! Weight wise, I'm doing pretty well and have been eating healthy. I went for a 6 mile run this afternoon, so I'm sure my legs will be pretty sore tomorrow! Since I didn't get to answer some of the questions this week, here's my go of it:

What state did you grow up in? I was born in VA. I've also lived in FL, although I live in VA again now.

Childhood memories - No one in my family is overweight. The biggest my mom has ever been is a size 8. My dad is a avid runner and has been a big influence in why I love to exercise so much. My sister is also very small. I'm not incredibly overweight, just maybe 15 pounds, but it'll feel good to get back to where I used to be. I'm not married yet, but my boyfriend also loves to go to the gym and eat healthy. So everyone around me is a pretty good influence!

Hi everyone, just popping in to say

GO RED TEAM!!

WE CAN DO IT!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :dance3: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday night. I have a lot of catching up to do. I returned from my business trip (Tues- Fri) to Virginia. These trips are usually easy to lose weight, but not exercise. I also celebrated my 36th birthday while traveling this week. And tried fried alligator. One of the 20 somethings told me I looked tired on my birthday (she didn't know). DH told me the same this AM. I am tired. It is too hard working full time as a supervisor, occasionally traveling for work, being a Junior Girl Scout Troop Leader, etc.

I'll try to answer all the questions from this week.

Tuesday: I am okay with where I am. Not thrilled. I will be able to focus more on me over the next month. I am glad I am doing this. I know I can do better. I was happy that I got below 180.

Wednesday: This year was my ninth Disney trip, over thirty years. Weight didn't really hinder how I did at Disney in August, just how I felt. I just don't look as good as I want to. The pics aren't great. I felt frumpy. I want to be one of those hot, yet conservative moms. Doesn't look like we will hit Disney next year (I am planning an April cruise right now for Mexican Riveria). :sad1:

Thursday: I was born and lived in Brighton (part of Boston), grew up in Weymouth and currently reside in Plymouth. That is it for me. Haven't lived outside of MA, even for college. Although I do travel the country for business.

Friday: The big question that I think ultimately impacts us all. This could take a couple of hours and I feel I should be laying on a couch with someone asking "So, how did that make you feel". Lets just say its all my parents fault. :lmao: You don't say I love you in my family, you give them a candy bar or a cookie. :lmao:

My cousin's wedding is in three weeks. I went to the Talbot's Outlet in Hingham today and got a $158 dress for $25 and it was a size 12. It just fits, but I will be working over the next three weeks to look good in it. WOOHOO!!!

DD and I spent the day together. I have to go back and look at the challenge to see what I need to be doing.

Gotta go and find a battery for the scale before Tuesday.

Even though I shouldn't say this here....GO RED SOX!!!

Edited to add: this is my 1000th post!

Hey Red Team how are you doing? Potluck at church was not a good thing. I have no willpower. I keep telling myself it could have been worse. To much left over food, but at least they guys ate all the pie I made for the men's meeting.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the top 5 red team scorers in the #2 weekly team challenge. I forgot to name them with the official announcement. Also tomorrow is a fun question of the day. Do you have any question suggestions? If so please PM them to me.

cccm (Celeste), thanks for sharing your 1,000th post with us. I had someone PM something to me once and said she could not post it because she wanted to post something 'special' for her xxxxxth post. I am such a newbie here. This challenge is really helping me to up my post count.

Keep sharing Red Team. Work on the weekly team challenge. Every Point counts.

Have a healthy day!

Reading Disney dining revews can be painful sometimes! :scared1:

Being on the dining plan this coming trip will be a challenge with all the DESERT issues! I think I'll use the take a bite and pass it on technique. I'll also focus on salad or protein appatizers. I think the more difficult choices will come with counter service lunches, although I am finding some meat only (as opposed to a sandwich) options (Flame Tree BBQ and Sunshine Seasons for example). I know forewarned is forearmed, so I'm suffering throught all the picturres on the dining forum and I keep reminding myself that I usually lose weight on a WDW trip. Anybody with any favorites/suggestions for wholesome eating at WDW....I'm ready to hear them!

Finally checking in here. We have had beautiful weather. It has been 90 for the last three days and tomorrow is supposed to be hot too. By the end of the week the cold air will be back. Today we went out on the boat and had a great time. We even took Subway out on the boat for a somewhat healthy meal. I sure hope to lose something this week.

Checking in! I've been a little out of the loop this week. I found out a little over a week ago that I'm DD's new Diasy Girl Scout leader. I have the first meeting Tuesday night and I have been madly trying to get everything organized. I think I'm doing pretty good on the weekly challenge, but I'm not so sure about the weight this week. It's TOM so that may make for a poor showing on Tuesday. I'll do my best to get it down.

Daily questions:

Disney Experience - 3 trips with my family as a kid, 1 college spring break trip w/ friends, then DH and I eloped to WDW and got married at WL. WE returned to the same honeymoon suite for our 5th anniversary and that's when we bought DVC. Since then we've had 2 kids and a few more trips to WDW and we're always looking forward to the next one!

I was born and raised in SW Missouri, moved to Kansas City after college where I met DH. We moved to Atlanta for a job opportunity for me, then to Nebraska for a job opportunity for DH, and here we are!

My weight is definitley adult onset. Before we had kids Dh and I ate out almost exclusively. With long commutes and long hours, we just didn't think we had time to cook. Eating out really packs on the pounds with those restaurant portions. I wasn't in great shape before the kids and after them, I find myself needing to lose 50 lbs to get back to what I weighed in college. Even now I find we eat out too often. I really thought I'd have all the time in the world for cooking and cleaning once I was staying home with the kids, but somehow I'm still super busy. I honestly don't know how some of you work have kids and do it all!

Good morning Red Team! Are you ready for another wonderful week? Onward and downward for us all.

Please PM points to me by 3 PM EST Wednesday afternoon. Even if you are late still PM them to me, sometimes late scores can be included sometimes they cannot. Just to be safe make sure your numbers are in on time. If you have a total when you PM me your weekly weight you can include it then. Did you see the changes and clarifications added to the challenge? If not look at post #14 here. If you have any questions PM or post them here.

Red Team question of the day

First my apology - If I offended anyone with the question about your family dynamics growing up I do sincerely apologize. I realize not everyone had an idea childhood situation and I applaud you for what you are doing with your life despite a rocky beginning. Of course you are never obligated to answer any question of the day. I just think they can be a fun way to get to know each other. They are not meant to pry into your personal business or make anyone uncomfortable. Now on to today's question.

Where are you right now and what is going on around you? Where is your computer?

Me first. My husband is an electrical contractor and we have a home office. As you walk into the office his desk is facing the wall to your left in the back corner. As you look into the office my desk is about 5 feet into the office straight ahead in front of the door looking out into the kitchen with my back facing a wall with a window looking out into the front yard. My monitor is on my desk and the CPU is under the desk where I put my feet. DH has a computer on his desk too. We also have a fax/copier/scanner, 3 file cabinets (with 27 years worth of files), 2 bookcases and an old fashioned typewriter in the office. This is where I DIS.

Things are now quite around the house. The usual weekday routine starts at 6:15 am when I get up to make lunches for DH and DS22. I also put about 3 gallons of ice and water into the water jug for the day. DHs other employee arrives here and parks in front of our shed in the yard and the three of them get on the road about 7 am. Today they are off to a mobile home park to redo the wiring for their streetlights. Who knows what I will get accomplished today.

So Red Team what is up with you? What are your plans today? What will you do to be healthy today? Keep working on that challenge, we really need your points. Weigh in day is tomorrow, are you ready?

Have a healthy day!

I am sitting on my couch on my laptop where I am always on my computer. DD1 is on the floor playing with her blocks, DD2 is taking her morning nap, and DH is in California on yet another business trip. Thank goodness for Columbus Day though, otherwise I would have been awake a lot earlier than my 7am wakeup call from the kids this morning.

Question of the day...
I am in a dr. office but in the lab ( I am a phlebotomist) my 'puter sits on the counter here next to the wonderful sink.. just a lot of needles, blood and the dreaded urine all around me :rotfl: so I check in between patients when slow or on breaks.

My DH is a plant worker with the title of plant foreman. The owner/boss just died suddenly about 1 month ago and he ahs been working a lot lately. He is now up for a promotion to plant manager (a step up by 1 level). So we are keeping fingers crossed. He has been working 10 or more hours a day so I feel like a single parent a lot lately. That means I have to pick up the slack around here a little bit since he is pretty tired when he comes home.

My computer is a laptop and it is in my living room facing the TV....so I can multi-task :lmao: :happytv: . We have desktops in the house but I hardly ever use them. I love my laptop! Right now I am the only one up (well DH and oldest DD are at work) youngest DD is sound asleep, and middle DD stayed over at a friends house so I am guessing she is sound asleep too. I do have a lot of stuff to do today, a lot of errands to run and I have to pick up the proofs of middle DD's senior pictures. Tonight we are going to the football game (Buffalo Bills/Dallas Cowboys, Mondya Night Football). That will be a challenge to me since football = beer drinking usually. With weigh in tomorrow morning I am going to have to stick to water all night, and no snacks either!

I am sitting on my couch with my laptop too. My oldest is working on math and my youngest is reading a book next to me. I am waiting on a repairman to come and fix our microwave. We bought it a few weeks ago and installed it above the stove. When we went to use it we found out that there was a screw missing from the handle. Just my luck. Called the company and they are having a repairman come out today to fix it. Why is it that they cannot give you a time that they will be here? All they could tell me is that it would be before 4pm. I just want to go out with my girls and play in the nice weather.

I am in the computer room with my dog. My dog age 9 thinks he is 2 and acts like it. If I let him run around my furniture would be chewed. So he is gated in the computer room.

Thanks so much for sharing. How exciting to see a glimpse of everyone's lives. As you described where you were and what you were doing I felt like I was there too. What fun friends! Keep eating healthy and doing good things today.

Red Team Rocks!!

Right now the laptop (wireless) is on the kitchen table. I have DDs Halloween costume in front of me (more like experiment, I have to paint the clothes). I have Junior Girl Scout Troop crap all around me (dues, signups, fund raising stuff). I just finished baking two apple coffee cakes, an apple pie, stuffed peppers and the baked beans are in the crock pot. The baked beans are a new recipe from Cooking Light. DH took DD and her BFF roller skating. There is a High School Musical thing going on at rink with Radio Disney. I still have to put away laundry, iron and shower. Lucky for me I don't have to work today.

I was just thinking of having some Grape Nuts for lunch.

Laptop moves back to home office, kitchen, couch and bed, depending on what is going on. It also goes back to real office with me during the day and travels with me across the country.
