BL 3 Blue Team-Week 9

Not open for further replies.
The challange runs through end of day TODAY. The next challange should be up for us to start tomorrow (if there is going to be a new challange).

I have been just doing the minimum (checking in--and even that I missed the last 2 weeks) but I really want to step it up as we get into the holidays and all those big temptations come around. So I will be around to "chatter" more! I am fine with either keeping the Blue thread or merging, whatever works best for our faithful leaders.

MJ

I am down 1.2 pounds for the week and I am officially at .2 pounds below where I started this challenge before my trip.:woohoo: :woohoo: Had I not started till after my trip I would be down 8.4 pounds instead of only down .2. But whatever, at least I got back in control and my trip weight gain is gone. Only going down from here.

ok -- i'm moving Mom (alreadyexcitedgrammy) challenge answers b/c she had them on the wrong thread :teeth:

Boy - I need some points - whew - made it in time

4. Share with your team in the team weekly thread what your
favorite form of exercising is (biking, running, powerwalking, yoga,
etc) and why?? -- max 5 pts

favorite exercise would be using my tread mill. I like the consistency of knowing how fast I am going, incline, etc. Tming is a way for me to get my exercising done in the morning while watching shows that I tape - either watch em or zap em and move on to one I want to watch :-) I use to do the WWTP with Leslie Sansone and I really liked that, too,
- wonder why I am not doing that anymore??? Honestly, I am electronically challenged and I need to figure out how to get it on the screen again :-) Maybe next week I will report that I restarted WWTP, too!

5. Share with your team in the team weekly thread what struggles
you have overcome in making exercise a part of your routine? work
schedules? burn-out? family responsibilities? Inspire others who face
the same challenges! -- max 5 pts

Hey - I had something written and then I re-read the part about INSPIRE
OTHERS - oops - I read that the first time as - go ahead and whine and
have a pity party :-) Now that I am back to the real question ...... truth is I am
not doing that great lately about having a routine schedule of exercise
but I am trying to get there again (2 days in a row). I got into a
"mind game" that it was okay to skip exercising because I was just too
busy (my mom in a nursing home and I visited every other day after work)
and my "back" hurts too. Then, it just got "too easy" to make
excuses... I am going to take it one day at a time and not listen to the
negative voices that say - it's okay to skip it today. I am going to
plan my exercise and stick to the plan!

ok i'm here b/c i gotta STOP eating our halloween candy. i had my splurge of it and it's feeling gross in my tummy....

team challenge 5 is up :teeth: here

I will contribute 20 points to the weekly challange this week.

I completed 340/150 cardio minutes - 5pts
I completed 5 - 45 min cardio workouts - 5pts
Posted my favorite workouts - 5pts
Posted my struggles & overcoming - 5pts

M- thanks for taking care of me - my 15 pts not that great (we were on an extended long weekend) so didn't get to "rack em up" very well BUT - 15 is 15 :thumbsup2

Today is a scheduled day off exercise - I do need to rejoin the exercising world one day at a time - my back was "hurting" yesterday.

So tomorrow - I will up and at em - may even try the WWTP tape:yay:

 I haven't checked in for awhile, and there are two reasons for it. One, I've been very busy and very tired. . . I think that I'm getting ready to hibernate for the winter. Which leads me to reason number two. I have been unable to stop eating! Not necessarily junk food, but non-stop. As a result, I have NO points to add, and I sent a + to Vija on the weigh in. To you, my teamies, I am sorry. To myself, I need a swift kick in the butt to get off of it and get moving. ANY moving would be good at this point. I will try harder this week-that I can promise. As for now.....I am NOT the Biggest Loser :sad2:

Forgot to add. I'll do what everyone else does, but my preference would be to keep the teams as is for a bit. I found the massive numbers early on a daunting task to keep up with who was who, so the smaller teams make it easier for me. I'll try to touch base every day or two from now on. Have a good day, everyone! We CAN do this....one step at a time.

Okay, morning confession time...

Halloween kicked my but yesterday. Halloween night we always take the kids trick or treating at the mall (I know lame, but safe), and then head to Fuddruckers. I was trying to talk myself into grilled chicken sandwich all day, no butter on the bun, going to use mustard and no mayo, blah, blah, blah.

Yeah, well, it didn't happen. By the time we actually got there, I had already half a bag of peanut butter cups, and then I ordered the Southwest burger, put mayo on it, ate my fries dipped in cheese and mayo, had a few of DH's onion rings, then we all split a brownie sundae. And did I mention the peanut butter cups?:scared1:

Yes, it was a scary night. And this morning I feel:sick: blech!

Thankfully, when I stepped on the scale (yes, I'm a compulsive weigher, but it does actually help me stay on track), there was only a one pound gain. So now if I can get back on track and stay that way, I should still post a loss overall for the next weigh in. Lots of apples and salad today! Yum!:upsidedow

I'm still here......

Didn't get a chance to WI this week and not making WW today.

First the good news..... Tower of Terror was AWESOME!!!!! It had glitches as it was a 1st time, but all in all good.

DD actually jogged most of the way, so I didn't see her until the end. I FINALLY got to meet Cam (KeenerCam)!!! And many others who I'm sure I'll never remember all their names - I do remember HockeyChic, WindWalker, & of course TigerLily, Connie from TX, & too many more to remember!

I started off with Cam & her group as they were walking due to her back problem. I ended up ahead & walking some w/ Dave & then HockeyChic & her DH. I was not last & I finished which was all I wanted to do. DD finished about 30 min ahead of me, but then she didn't stop to take pictures at least 1x every mile!! I talked on the phone part of it w/ my DSIS who couldn't figure out why 45 min into it we weren't done(DUH!) , & then with DD who wondered where I was when she passed mile 6 (I was passing 5). I can honestly say I did NOT exert myself at all. Didn't even feel like my heart rate was really up. Everyone else hated the humidity, but I was LOVING it!!!!

Dd's running shoes are MESH which we never thought about. Good for the dry desert, not so good for rainy Orlando. Her feet were soaked most of the 8+ miles. When I crossed the finish she was waiting, gave me her stuff & said she thought her feet were bleeding. Fortunately it was just 1 blister & the rest was the wet socks. Went to the med tent for ice for her knee & a bandaid & she was good to go ride the ToT(NOT ME!!!) Her feet were swollen & GROSS from the water & VERY SORE!!!!!

From Thursday night to when we got home on Monday night I managed to get a whopping 21 hours sleep in 4 nights. I'm still totally exhausted, so I will LOVE this weeks sleep challenge. THAT I can handle!!

Monday night when we landed I called DS18 to see if he wanted me to pick him up something for dinner. No, as he was down on campus working on a group project & said he would be home soon. 3 hours later still hadn't heard from him. Called him again & no answer. about 15 min later he called me very shaken. He had been driving his cycle on the hwy and the delivery type truck in the lane next to him hit a wooden pallet and threw it into his lane in front of him. No where to go at 65 in heavy traffic. He became airborne - OVER the height of the cars. A piece of the wood hit his throttle hand. When the bike came down it was unsteady, but fortunately, he had bought a $500 steering dampener for loose/out of control steering and when the wheels hit the pavement, it took over & he did not crash. If he had, he & the bike would have both been run over. The only thing we could see wrong with the bike was a small area of the rim was bent - looked like the end of a 2x4 hit it. He stopped in a parking lot, checked it out & rode home after calling me. So, I took him to school on Tues & yesterday morning we took the bike to the shop to be checked. Told the wonderful British older man who runs it & he was amazed we weren't planning a funeral. Then, he called & told me both front & rear rims & tires are bent from the impact, and that there was "no reason on this earth" that both tires did not blow on impact & the bike roll. There are even splinters imbeded in one of the tires. Unfortunately, the damage was over $2000 so we had to call his Ins. co & file a claim - even his $1000 deductible is cheaper, but he is safe and that is all that matters.

So, is it any wonder, with DD being sick, me sick, the 2 trips to FL this month & then DS18's problem that I forgot to WI?? Oh well. Hopefully life will calm down a bit now, but I'll have to play chauffer to both DD and DS18 for a while til the bike is fixed. But I'll gladly do it at this point!

Food was OK in FL - had panera bagels each morning which is not great, but we don't have a panera. Desperately wanted ice cream at 2 a.m. after ToT, but McDonalds had none. Ended up eating a hamburger - probably my 1st in YEARS. ICKY!!!!! Spent way too much money at the UnderArmour outlet - but some is for Christmas.

Went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal (DBil got us free tickets) n Sunday Night. I would not go back. It was nothing but a drunken mess. Houses weren't scary, just really gross. Waited over an hour to ride the Mummy & Men in Black(and DD's gun didn't work). DSis & her DD came & we were walking down by Jaws & someone threw a beer on them. Then later we got SPIT on!! (just for fun you know!) They left about 11 & we left just after 12 a.m.

My big 'oops' of the trip was leaving the hotel on I-Drive for the airport in pouring rain, sitting forever in traffic & getting to the rental return & realizing I had forgotten to stop for gas!!! $7.99/gallon there I was NOT going to pay. So off we went to way S of the airport to fill the tank as the nearby roads had accidents.

After ToT & HHN, DD was barely walking her feet were so sore, so she hobbled into the airport for an hour line at security. Barely made it to our gate & neither of us had eaten all day. I RAN to the nearest food place - fortunately 1 gate down & bought 2 chef salads, 2 pretzels w/ cheese, her a brownie sundae (it was Ben & Jerry's) & I had a scoop of Pumpkin cheesecake - yummy & the worst thing I had all weekend. Wolfed down the ice cream during boarding. I ate most of my pretzel - which was like a rock & she ate a couple bites of salad. Noisy, crowded flight & we couldn't sleep & were too tired to really eat. Oh well.....

So, that's the scoop! More in my WISH journal & hopefully pics by the end of the weekend.

Hi all,

Believe it or not I'm still around and still maintaining. I think I need to up my exercise because my eating isn't out of control.

It's a new month and I have a new plan. I will have a loss this week.

Sabrina

Oooo. I just read this week's challenge, and I must say, I like it!

Can a "date" be with one of my kiddos?

Sorry, I forgot until now to post my team points, so they didn't count. I thought they were due by midnight. Were they not due by midnight at some point or am I losing it. Well I am losing weight and loving it.:thumbsup2

I guess I need to bed so I can attempt to get 8 hours of sleep.;) If it was up to me I would go to bed at 2am and get up at 10 or 11am, but work thinks differently. Well I did go in at 11am and worked till 8pm today.

The thing I like to do for myself is spend time in nature just absorbing the sights and sounds and enjoying the beauty of Earth. Getting away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Getting away from the constant electronic gizmos and focusing on me. Sometimes I will take some pictures or sketch or write poetry or just enjoy the time away just for me with no forced timeline of needing to be somewhere or do something.

Yep - need to be out the door in 1/2 hour and still haven't showered! Oh well - I am just truly struggling to get my "whole" self into a disciplined lifestyle right now - we took a long weekend last weekend to see our "retirement" property in TN and have to say that I am now - getting excited about thinking about houseplans and yadda yadda yadda............... BUT reality is that is Jan 2010 so I gotta live the life in between RIGHT :hippie:

So....................... first step is to get my mind into it and even though my voices say "Monday - you can start Monday" - I NEED TO DO IT TODAY!!

maybe I can just float along at work today (government worker here - lots of other "floaters" today too). I think I will at least get my letters started to my friends so I can claim those points this week  and now it IS time to get moving.

And BTW - I did 2 miles tming and some stretching this morning :thumbsup2

Here's to a great OP day to all the BLUIES and a FABULOUS WEEKEND too - :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hugs :grouphug:

WOOHOO!! I came in first in something!!:cool1: I didn't think that would happen. This weeks challenge is a bit harder. I would LOVE to get that 8 hrs of sleep, but not always possible with the schedule. But I am going to try very hard.

I had a little "pity party" kind of day yesterday. Skipped the gym after I had bloodwork done for my physical. Did a little retail therapy. I found a really cute dress on clearance at WalMart that would be great for my cruise in Jan. I fit into an 8/10:thumbsup2 But it had no support in the bust and it had a very low back, so I don't eve know what kind of bra one could wear with it. So I don't know that I will get it, but at least I felt good about getting into a smaller size!! But then I went home and had breakfast (had to fast for the bloodwork, and I was starving, also desperately needed coffee:coffee: ) I did laundry:laundy: and then headed off to work. Where I had a bowl of potato bacon chowder and bread with butter. Then I came home and ate dinner (spinach salad and toasted flatbread) but had popcorn later on. UGH. I have been so discouraged with my lack of weight loss lately. I know that the plateaus happen, but it seems like they come to me more frequently than I would like. But today is a new day, and I am determined to get things going in the right direction.

I am training again for a race, this time the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. Another 5k, fast and flat. But there are about 3500 people running:eek: not 500 like my last race. I just want to better my time from my last race, so I am stepping up the training a bit.

I hope everyone has a losing day and weekend. I am staying on plan and getting it done. I am motivated, dedicated and on a quest to be my best!!! (thats a quote from my daughters TKD instructors)

hey quick fly-by -- i'll catch up later ::yes::

hey i made the top losers! Wow...i'm not feeling like a loser now, i'm struggling with the halloween candy sitting around. this will keep me motivated!! i want to claim a new clippie by the end of november!!

geekerbell -- a 'date' with a kiddo is absolutely fine!!

off for a day of errands and such...i have a 'date' with my DH tonight, i realized both my girls would be gone so i planned to make him dinner, small glass of vino, and a movie on demand. :teeth: i'm going to make a pesto pizza, whole wheat dough and veggies, RF cheese on 1/2 for me

:tinker: to the BLUE team for a OP weekend!!

Congrats to all the top losers and challengers!

For the challenge I am going to share with you all a way that I spend time just for myself and how it rejuvenates me. Well I like to sit and curl up with a good book or movie. Just veging out and relaxing rejuvenates me. In the summer I like to spend time outdoors either sitting and enjoying the weather and sounds around me or taking a walk.

Can't wait to give myself a mani and pedi. Boy do I need one and what a better excuse than the challenge to give myself one!
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Michele

Hey everyone, I am starting to feel a bit better. I ended up with a post vacation cold. I have slept most of the days away.... kind of nice to be able to do that!:thumbsup2 BUT it has put me so far behind in everything I wanted to do this week, basicly I haven't done anything.:sad2:

I did watch a small portion of Oprah and Dr. Oz on the aging process. Did anyone else see it? It did inspire me a little to rethink what the heck I am doing to my body. I tend to think of "today" and not what the big repercussions will be. The show opened my eyes a bit!
