BL 3 Blue Team-Week 9

So, I've been thinking quite a bit recently about where I'm going to "go" to post and such when our Biggest Loser challenge is over.
I definitely feel like I have done better on consistent weight loss since we started this, and I would like to find a supportive thread, maybe where I already "know" a few people.

So, where do all of you usually consider your home thread?

Right now, this is my home thread! I know that we have talked amongst the captains to do a biggest loser alumni thread after the challenge on WISH is over, just an FYI for you! I will definetely sign up for that thread.

Vern - I've dropped in on occasion but never posted. I guess I'm just nervous to join in because it seems there are so many people and it's been going so long, I'm kinda worried I won't fit in. (I know, I'm nuts!:crazy2: )
Maybe I'll pop in and say hi later.
 

After several (3) weeks without any real losses, I have buckled down and started journaling my food again and sticking to 1500 calories. I need a loss (a real loss) this week I will report in tomorrow with my weigh in.

This weeks team challange is a tough one. Time for myself is very limited. The one thing that i do forself every day is my working out. I make time to exercise most everyday. It is very imporatant to me to have this time. It releases stress and just makes me feel good.

Do "dates" have to be one on one? I planned a lunch date with my two teenagers for today and was hoping that this would count. Manicures and Pedicures, I a not even sure what counts as that? As you can tell I am not a girly girl.

There have been quite a few folks over there, but it is pretty much a core group that continues to post: I don't know why the others don't come back, :confused3 honest we really like everyone!!:love:

There are a few from the BL challenge over there-two from our team (LaLaroo and SeaSpray) and delilah and dare2dream(Brenda) from the red and black teams. Our good friend Ashley is there, she has 4 kids she homeschools and she has lost 75 lbs so far. She is our hero!!! Don't be afraid to jump in over there. We don't bite, promise:flower3:
 
Well, I am doing well with the challenge. Manis and pedis were 40% off today when I wnet to the gym, so I splurged on both. I've written a friend, and so far I have 2 nights of 8 hours sleep. Peeked at the scale today, and I'm making progress again.

There are a few things that help me out. I love getting up before everyone else does and curling up on the couch with a cup of tea. The silence and sunrise make me feel really calm and ready to face the day. I love to read and listen to music. The main thing is working out though. I use it as a stress reliever. If I miss a workout, I can really tell with my mood.

You know I posted on that thread way early on, I wish I would have continued, because now I feel like Geekerbell, kind of not wanting to "push" my way in to a group thats already underway. Maybe with some open arms... and welcomes... HINT, HINT...;) I'll pop over there again! It would be nice to be part of another group as well! I think it makes a big difference!

the weekend has been going so so for me. So hard to jump back in once I've been in "vacation mode". Sighhhh, need the motivation kick in the rear again!
 
I am having a tough week.

I had some freaky sharp pains in my lower left abdomen that were then proceeded with Adrenaline Rushes. It takes me all day to recover from one and almost as soon as I felt human, I got the stabbing pain again and whoosh when the adrenaline. I feel bloated, strung out and awful. Pretty sure they are Ovarian cysts which it is good that they are taking care of themselves by bursting - but it still feels awful.

Vija-:hug: You and everyone else who wants to is welcome to join us on the Massive thread. We have had many people join us, but not everyone seems to stick around!!! I hope we don't intimidate anyone or make any one feel unwelcome, we really want more friends to join us on our journey to better health!!! It just seems like people pop in and then disappear. But we would love to have you join us, anytime.

I ran 3.1 miles today (training for my next 5k) and did it in 35:48. Hoping to run at least that if not better for the actual race. It felt really good and that pasta I had last night seemed to help:rolleyes: . I am down FINALLY and am hoping to lose a little more by Tuesdays weigh in. I am striving for my 50 lb clippie by my b-day in 2 weeks. What a great gift to myself that will be!!!
 
Well I am finally posting a real loss. 2 pounds. Brining me into the 150's! WOW I haven't seen that for at least 13 years, if not longer (15 before I got pg w/ #2). I think journaling and keeping a better eye on what I was eating the last few days has really helped. I am very happy and proud of myself for getting back on track.

My "date" with my kids went really well. On top of going to lunch, we went to the dollar tree which is up there and found some great Disney Princess items for my nieces 6th birthday. And my 16yo came up with the idea to put all the items in a small plastic basket, instead of a gift bag. I thought this was great since she can use the basket later and the bag will end up in the trash. so all in all I think it went great.

So sorry you're not feeling well, Sasha! I feel your pain. Bursting cysts are awful, but true, it is better they take care of themselves.

good morning BLUE!!

i feel soo out of the loop, i apologize for being MIA the past 3 weeks. sadly we bid farewell to our Spanish student on Saturday, which will free up much more of my time now, but we really enjoyed having her and it was sad. the mother in me asked her to email us that she was home safely and she did, after 26 hours of travel and before she went to bed..to tell us she 'cryed' on the bus leaving. :sad1: and to thank us again for her parting gifts :upsidedow of course we couldn't let her leave our state without an OSU hoodie :thumbsup2 and some america 'treats' to share with her family. junk food of course, she loved pop rocks and gummies

ok.

that said i'm truly ready to get back into my regular healthy eating. we had a dinner out saturday night (DH's bosses house, good but swimming in oil) and i have been grazing on halloween candy. i broke my usualy WI once a week rule and stepped on the scale this morning, i'm back up those pounds that gave me a place in the top losers from last week. now i feel like a chumpy fraud BL....i'm soooo tired of gaining and losing the same darn 3 lbs!

Julie!! thank you for sharing your ToT report!! i have had the pleasure of meeting Cam and Lily, and some others that you may have too. WISH events :rockband: where did the course take you? was it mainly in the parks? PD for your DDs poor feet! that is awful! but cyber high five on the medal!!

Sasha -- are you ok? i hope your :sick: passes quickly!!!

christa -- :cheer2: :cheer2: i need your mojo!!! reading your inspiration helps me though... and to see that in a few days of good choices i'll be feeling much better!!:thumbsup2 and :yay: :yay: :yay: for hitting a milestone in your journey and entering a new 'decade' of numbers!!

ok on the challenge, i'm doing good on the sleeping part :rolleyes: friday night i had a date with DH, no kids and i made us pizza -- whole wheat dough with pesto (homemade that i froze) cubed chicken breast, mushrooms and mozz cheese (RF for me) it was really good. we just chilled and chatted and had some wine with dinner. it was nice. i hope to get a date with each of my DDs by wed night......the weeks go so fast though.

what rejuvenates me? i like to take a long hot bath and read in the winter time. that more relaxes me though. lately i have been scrapbooking alot and it's a wonderful sense of accomplishment to spend some time in my 'area' ..away from the kitchen and then have something so great to show for it. i really love to scrapbook and love to have the books for my family. another quick lift is to take a short walk in the brisk cool fall air.....i need to make time for this more often, my doggie would love me to for sure.
 
Well.....,I too must apologize for being MIA lately. First it was the guilt of being up a little that caused me to have some serious shame and then it was the EVIL halloween candy! and then more seriously it was my best friend's baby's premature birth.

I would appreciate prayers for her baby. It is still very touch and go, but Lots of prayers have already been answered and I know more will be also.

But, I am also ready to get back on the healthy bandwagon. I have not exercised in 2 weeks and I really do feel yucky!
I am like OHMom....I am SO tired of losing the same 3 lbs!!!! I have given up my diet drinks and I did see the scale move down some. It forces me to drink more water.

Hi everyone, I'm back!

My house is rocking and rolling just like the cruise ship we were on for 10 days, but I'm back! LOL

I'll weigh in tomorrow morning and I know I'll be crying over what the scale says. lol

I hope everyone is doing fine, I'll be able to catch up later on, I hope. I still have not even started to unpack.

Our cruise was impacted by Hurricane Noel and we had an altered itinerary in addition to being on the ship until 5pm last night instead of 9am yesterday morning. We didn't get back home until 1am this morning and DH and I are exhausted, but we had an outstanding cruise!! :sail: :sunny:

I, too, have been among the MIA - hopefully, getting back on track and I am working on the challenge too. My boss is off this afternoon, I plan to get a couple of letters done to friends :thumbsup2.

I am off to do the official WI - not a pleasant thought - hopefully my scale will be kind - but I am in the "same boat" as a few others - losing and regaining the same few pounds.

DH just reminded me TO VOTE today - so I am passing that good advice along too - remember if you don't vote you don't get to "grumble" about politics - at least that is "MY" rule :rolleyes1
