I was checking out some of the WDW menus and was fairly horrified to see the above combination listed as a breakfast. Now unless people have no sense of taste, then surely the biscuits and gravy are not what I call biscuits and gravy and are maybe something else altogether?

Does anyone else know?

Hi DisCharmed

They aren't what we would call biscuits and gravy (though I will say nothing about whether they go together or not!). The biscuits are similar to what we would call a scone, and the gravy is a white sauce.

Does that help? IKWYM about the thought of a Custard Cream dunked into Bisto though...:) :)

oh my goodness I don't know if thats any better! I struggle to eat a piece of toast or cornflakes for breakfast.

I was sort of imagining custard creams in bisto - yes, lol :hyper:

Olaf - I think we can quite safely say I'll not be having gravy on my cookies :(

Charmed (still imagining scone topped with fried egg and white sauce and feeling faintly sick.....)

Oh man, those are so good. I haven't had these since my 'incident' last year, but boy I'd sure love to. Scrambled eggs on top of biscuits, with white sausage gravy smothering them. Umum good.

Talk about Southern comfort food :) :)

Y'all have got to try it!

It's white gravy with sausage bits over mouth watering biscuits. Scones are sweeter and dryer than biscuits. Biscuits are soft and mus be eaten fresh!

Give it a go and then judge for yourself :) :)

Aloha,
Lorraine

Honestly the addition of sausage bits into the concoction didn't add to the appeal at all! However I will give them a try when I visit, you never know I might love them!

::yes:: Charmed (willing to try but looking green to the gills at the thought)

I agree with you Charmed! Doesn't sound very nice but i'm willing to give it a go you never we may like it. I'm sure if they heard about our deep fried cadburys creme eggs they would be little weiry about trying them as am i.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Tell me you're joking. :(

Gave it a go in Bob Evans a couple of years back - not up my street thanks.

Blah!

I tried the biscuits and gravy last fall for the first time. I have to admit the taste is delicious. But I doubt if I would ever order it again. To be as polite as posible, it is an off white gravy with bits of crumbled sausage meat floating in it. In other words, do not attempt to eat if you do not hae a strong stomach for visually unappetizing food. Just my opinion of course, had I grown up with it I would no dout be fine with it.

Well, what about grits?

Not my cup of tea either...but looks somewhat like cream of wheat, not as visually unappealing as sausage gravy....sausage is greasy, and leaves multi colored flecks in the gravy.

I'm almost sorry I asked, it's all sounding much worse than I imagined, lol. I've never had the deep fried chocolate either.... so maybe I'm just a bit unadventuress with my food!

Profdsny - eels are strictly (someone correct me if I'm wrong) a South of England dish, but steak and kidney pie, or even better steak and kidney pudding, chips and curry are fab! :teeth:

Meat and potato pie chips and curry are brill too:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
