Hey everyone!

I just have a few questions about celebrating birthdays at Disneyland Paris. Is there anything special that you can do/request for birthdays? Which restaurants can you have birthday cake with characters? My friend is turning 30 when we go, so it would be nice to plan a few surprises within the trip.

Also, was planning to stay at The Santa Fe (Have stayed there before), but we're going in the summer and I thought it would be good to have a hotel with air conditioning in case it is hot, the Newport Bay is only £30 cheaper than the Sequoia Lodge - what's the NPB like? Last I heard it was going through a refurb.

thanks :)

You can order a birthday cake in any table service restaurants. If you book somewhere that has characters such as cafe mickey, inventions etc then a character may come to your table when they bring the cake. we have had 3 birthday cakes at dlp but only had 1 character come with the cake on two of these occasions. I see some people get such a fuss with characters when the cakes come out unfortunately none of my children ever got a fuss just some clapping from the characters.

I read this thread because I am going to be celebrating my 50th at DLP in June... I was planning on staying at the Santa Fe... but... it doesn't have air conditioning? Will this be bad in June?

I did celebrate at DLRP my 50th in 2012 :scared1: and i had a ball to be honest, we had dinner at Inventions and Tigger himself brought me the cake (btw... it tasted horrible...) as all the perople around clapped their hands and sang me Happy Birthday :bday:

Neither the Santa Fe or Cheyenne have air con, I know the Cheyenne has a ceiling fan but can't remember about the Santa Fe. You should be fine without Air con. Its quite common for hotels in France/Europe to not have air con

The cake isn't the nicest, it's very chocolates and sickly . The are 5 of us and we can never manage it always throw half maybe more away.

I have been to Dlrp in June just once but it was not too hot, IMO it was pretty cool al Times...so there will be no need of air con i can tell

The cakes aren't the chocolat variety now. It's a Vacherin which is best described as an ice cream cake so bear that in mind as you can't take it away with you anymore

Being that I am not an adventurous food eater, I am looking to have my 50th Dinner at Silver Spur. I think I read that they do the chocolate cake.. but there's only 2 of us and the cake feeds 4...

Our party was of two too and the cake would have been enough for six i think.
You were allowed to take it away not even at the time.

I had my 30th at auberge de cendrillon and it was amazing, all of the princesses brought out my birthday cake and sang me happy brthday. I then had plenty of time to get lots of photo's.

They really made a fuss even though it was just myself and my husband! Kinda gutted they have changed the cake, the chocolately one was yummy gooey goodness :rotfl2:

When did they change them? I'm curious what they now look and taste like

My daughter has her first birthday here, she only had cinderella come over jist after they finished singing feel gutted for her must of been awesome having them all singing

The changes must have been last year when I was away as all the new menus that I photo'ed in Novembre and Decembre 2014 show the "cake" being a Vacherin at 27€

It should be a lighter version than the old cake as it's meringue and ice cream. They are very populaire here.

Apparently back in 2010 the birthday cakes were like this :confused3
