Woke up early again today. Got ready and decided to go to the food court to eat. What a disaster. So confusing. I never did find the omelets. So we gave up. Decided to eat at EPCOT instead. After a wait forever the bus finally arrives. It is a ramp bus. Well my wheelchair doesn't do ramp buses. I was injured by a driver trying to force my wheelchair up the ramp which is too steep. I refused to ride it and said I would wait for a lift bus and asked when it would arrive. The driver was really rude and told me both buses were ramp buses and it was my tough luck. I asked to see a manager who took forever to get there. While she was full of great words nothing was done to resolve the problem. My husband got the car and we continued to use it the rest of the trip.
Arrived at EPCOT before opening and got through security easily. Got a breakfast burrito. Not bad but I could only eat half of it. Then I went to Living Seas to wander around and look at displays until the interpreter arrived. It is Jennye. We chat and then she does the Dive Tank and then the Manatees. After the Manatee show I ask a question and she comes out to interpret because the lighting isn't great and signing from that distance is difficult. I can see her but she can't read my fingerspelling with lights in her face. We part as she has to be at the Land soon and I head over there also.
The Land ride is great. There are sufficient breaks so Jennye is doing most of the interpreting today until the parade. Then Alan is supposed to come do that. After teh ride we look at pins and alk for a while. She is collecting pins for all the shows she is interpreting. If you remember a while back I was looking for the Hunchback CM Banner for a special person. It was for her and she loves it.
I go off to check out pins at the pin cart and bump into Larry from Dizneypins and a few other pin traders. Then I go see the House of Innoventions with Jennye interpreting. Wow do they have some great stuff in there. Unfortunately my friend David is not working. I've missed him the last 3 trips. Saw him last year in August. It was kind of funny because he kept yelling at me from the back and I didn't hear him. Finally comes up to me and I turn around and see him. He was the guide for the House that day with Alan interpreting and teased me the entire way through.
Now off to World Showcase. Unfortunately no OFF KILTER today but some lame fiddle group. Can't hear much of them at all. On to England where I check out the toy store and Jim checks out of the Genealogy area. I buy a stuffed Eeyore for my deaf-blind friend's baby son. It makes sounds when the tail is pulled off. Matthew will love it. Then I go to watch the World Showcase Players in England. It is hysterical. Time for Jennye to go home. Well sort of. Alan may not make it so she isn't sure if she will interpret Tapestry of Dreams or Alan.
I go off and listen to the British Invasion. Music is loud, words are a loss. I enjoyed it though. Then we walked through the World Showcase to Germany where I looked at the trains. So many memories from I lived there. Go off an buy my favorite candy, Gummi Bears and check out the Hummel figurines but don't buy one this trip. Bought several in the past.
Time for Tapestry of Dreams and it is Jennye. Alan never did show up this week. Got delayed at other assignments both times. Brian shows up to watch with us. Jim fnds a bench to people watch. Jennye interprets and the 3 of us chat in between things. Brian used to work for Disney before so he know many of the cast in the parade and quite a few come over towards us and tease. One puppet with a baby puppet comes up and hugs me. Then they are off for the day. Brian says he will see me tomorrow with Tara. Jennye I will see again on Sunday at MGM.
Finally Jim and I go to the Biergarten for dinner. As we walk out TOD is passing again so I watch it go the other way. Just as good without interpreting.
Then we head out for our resort so I can study for my midterm.
